OOC:
14 did beat her Agility, which is why she lost 11 Health. She made the luck roll at the end of the round to end the affliction from the spell, though.
Dec 11, 2025 3:28 pm
OOC:
Wait, isn't that two times? The second 4d6 depends upon whether the agility score is beaten, right?
Dec 11, 2025 3:39 pm
OOC:
Oops, you're right. She loses another 11 Health for a loss of 22 total.

Rolls

More Health Loss - (4d6)

(4232) = 11

As the dark magic of the hag sank within her, Lauretta failed to channel the protection of her raiment in time. Her limbs drooped and her breath hitched. Weakness gripped her body. A shock of gooseflesh surged through her in response to the sudden feeling of impending doom. The amulet around her neck made its way into the Preceptor's hand, no longer favoring the mighty weapon. "The High One will protect me from all your evils, wicked one! You will end this curse on me!" The shout was as unsteady as her breath, but the cutting gaze and oncoming angelic figure were not. A familiar aura of shielding holy magic flooded out.
OOC:
Lauretta is taking the initiative. At the start of her turn, she activates Dire Attention and Command. For the Command, Lauretta is choosing the "End a Magical Effect" action on page 47. For her action, she casts Shield of Righteousness.

The Hag succeeds against Dire Attention, but she will still need to roll against Command.

OOC:
Heavenly Raiment also imposes a bane on attacks against Lauretta. The second attack would have hit regardless, but there's good chance the first would have missed. @Dmbrainiac

"Bah!"

Missing was not something Wolfram took well. Glaring at the next arrow, he nocked as if it were sentient, and he let it fly at the hag.

Suddenly, the warform swung around the witch' strike, intercepting her sweeping blow towards Lauretta with parrying blade and interposing shield. An iron guard tightened and piston-driven servos whirred sharply as the sharp clash rang throughout the air.

The claws stopped a hair's breadth from the Clockwork's riveted chestplate. Steam vented through the warform's shield arm, causing condensation to bead upon his hull.

"Enemy classification upgraded to Beta-level threat." R3N-L3 intoned, before suddenly swinging his blade around in an overhead arc at her.
OOC:
The additional Bane R3N-L3 imposes on attacks against him, since he's electing to Defend Lauretta, should just barely halt that attack. He'll be halting the 11 damage attack, since there's a chance the 1st attack doesn't land with Lauretta's Bane. Sadly, I'm pretty sure he doesn't hit that attack xD

OOC:
R3N-L3's heavy steel ass can't even move much, let alone take initiative, so he's passing by default as per usual, not by choice xP
Dec 21, 2025 5:56 am
Lauretta could feel the lethal force behind the sweeping claws of the wretched hag as they dragged along the glowing garment. Just as she thought the High One's favor might have limits, a clash of claw and steel forced her aside. Her gaze from behind the moving bulwark of an ally tore at her foe in retaliation.
"We are protected by God, witch! To the pit with you!"
The radiance in the air deepened in its golden hue. Holy light beamed off of the weapons that the group wielded against the faerie.
OOC:
Lauretta is taking the initiative. At the start of her turn, she activates Dire Attention again. It fails once more. For her action, she uses her Battle Blessing talent. All attacks (weapons) now receive a boon.

Wolfram doesn't remember nocking his third arrow, so immersed was he in the back and forth of battle. The familiar whoosh of his arrow as it twanged from the string and sliced through the air made him smile.

Tzal splatters Anastasia with more health-draining poison. The hag resists Lauretta's dire attention, but her battle blessing guides Woflram's aim as he shoots the hag with an arrow.

Hissing with pain and rage, the hag tries again to tear apart Lauretta with her claws, but the inquisitor's magic keeps her safe!
OOC:
@Lcythas, R3N-L3 may act.

"73,462 computations complete. Maximally effective paradigm established. Executing." R3N-L3 buzzed out, as he suddenly executed a bewildering series of strikes, producing a dozen feints to allow the one thrust towards the hag's heart to go through.
OOC:
Using Certain Outcome to get a nat 20 on the attack roll as a Reaction, so it crits. Looks like 20 damage!

R3N-L3's sword stabs deep into the hag's side. She grimaces as Tzal's poison saps more of her strength.
OOC:
End of round. Anybody who wants to take the initiative may act now. The hag is poisoned so she makes attribute rolls with 1 bane, and she grants 1 boon on rolls against her.

The feeling of weakness in Lauretta's limbs faded as the power of the High One's blessing surged through her. An opportunity further presented itself with the hag's position visibly diminishing from Tzal's poison and the repeated deadly blows. The Preceptor locked onto the the wretch's openings. "This is it!" Otherworldly power pulsed from the great weapon in her grasp. A shimmer of light swinging through the air and a vicious battle cry ringing off the walls of the cave signaled doom for her foe.
OOC:
I forgot to roll for Dire Attention first, so I actually should have had an extra boon on Lauretta's attack. Looks like it'll be fine though haha. If this doesn't kill her, then the hag is now also Vulnerable.
