Wolfram's arrow finds its mark in the beast's body. Despite its wounds, the thing tries to tear apart R3N-L3 with its teeth again, but the clockwork's armor is too tough for it!
OOC:
Everybody else may act now.

Rolls

Teeth - (d20+5-d6)

(13) - (1) + 5 = 17

"Engaging causality anchors. 53,729 simulations run. Optimal strike vector acquired." R3N-L3 intoned, a strange shimmer flickering briefly around him. His blade darted out with the precision of a hundred predetermined strikes, striking for the creature's vitals!
OOC:
Using this opportunity to spend a Reaction on Certain Outcome to automatically nat 20 R3N-L3's attack. 20 damage!

Tzal trudged back, trying to gain some distance from this creature, and pointed his staff towards it, sending a flying jellyfish.
OOC:
Does 13 hit the agility score? Great! Rolling damage.

@Stalker05 yes, its Agility is 9. :D

The warbling jellyfish latching onto the creature was exactly what Lauretta had hoped for with her prayer, but the cloud of spores was not. Having difficulty seeing her target, the Preceptor transitioned her prayers to that of her own arrow striking true. The last thing she wanted was to fire directly into her metallic friend.
OOC:
Reaction for Prayer. Action to attack with bow. Her innate attack boon is canceled by the bane from light obscurement, but she receives 1 from her Prayer and another from the creature being Poisoned.
Edit: How about those rolls!

R3N-L3 hacks into the bog beast as Tzal blasts it with another jellyfish. Laueretta's arrow strikes true, and the monster collapses into the muck, splashing fetid water all around it! It lies still, its tentacles drooping limply around it.

With the monster's defeat, you are able to harvest the pink flowers on its back. There are 12 in total.
OOC:
A flesh and blood creature can consume a flower and gain its choice of the following benefits: heal 2d6 damage or regain 1d6 Health. A creature can benefit from just one flower per 24 hours.
Nov 7, 2025 1:45 am
With the monster dead, R3N-L3 snapped back into eerie immobility for a second, contemplating the mangled corpse of the hillock-creature. "This plane is almost as violent as baseline reality is." The warform noted mildly, before picking the flowers with a delicate touch, bundling them into a napkin, and stashing them away. He began slowly wading back towards the party.
Nov 7, 2025 3:27 pm
Tzal heaved a sigh of relief as the creature came crashing down. He climbed up to a dry patch of land and looked at the corpse of the creature, "Well, so we got some flowers. Was it on the list? Maybe now we can visit the nymph? How is everyone holding up?"
Nov 7, 2025 7:09 pm
"Aye, I'd wager those are the flowers we need and that was the swimming hill. Though I'd argue this place has been more violent than our world, Renly. I'm ready for hag slaying when you lot are." Lauretta kept her distance from the murk, looking out into the forest. Her eyes grew wary as she thought back to the knowledge of what were likely the worst of faerie kind.
Nov 7, 2025 11:59 pm
"List or not, those flowers could prove very useful, especially with the way our lives have been going. Me? I'm fine. I would like to get away from this water though. It stinks pretty badly."

The nymph seems like a good bet for their next assignment. "I'm ready to visit the nymph."
Nov 8, 2025 4:16 am
Looking at Lauretta, R3N-L3 tilted his head slightly to the side. "In my organic state, I culled a total number of fellow sapients which is greater in number than all sapients we have come across thus far, friend Lauretta. Our world is more violent." R3N-L3 intoned in a matter-of-fact tone, before readying to move out to the nymph.
Nov 10, 2025 3:23 pm
"I will take you to the former nymph's lair," says Ompha the bear. "But first, there is a prize nearby that might benefit you! So far, none have been able to claim it, but heroes such as yourselves might prove worthy."

You follow the bear through the enchanted woods for a bit. Soon, you come to a small clearing. In the center of the clearing, a beam of sunlight illuminates a bronze-colored sword that sticks out from a rock. The blade has a wavy edge, its grip wrapped in wood carved to look like an eagle’s claw. A bronze crossbar extends out to either side of the handle.

"The legends say that this word once belonged to a powerful elf knight poisoned and murdered by goblins at this very spot," Ompha says." To prevent the goblins from taking his most prized possession, the Orichalcum Blade, a magical weapon that was forged at the dawn of creation, he plunged the blade into the rock and cursed it to remain there until drawn from the stone by someone worthy."

The bear settles back on his haunches and gestures for you to give it a try.
OOC:
A character can attempt to pull the sword free from the rock by making a Will roll with 1 bane and getting a result of 20 or higher. If the character has killed a goblin within the last year, the character rolls with 1 boon instead of 1 bane. On a failure, the character is found unworthy and the sword will never come free for them
Nov 10, 2025 3:44 pm
OOC:
Is R3N-L3 allowed to use Certain Outcome to cheese this? XP
Nov 11, 2025 9:07 am
OOC:
I'm going to say no in this case. :P
Nov 11, 2025 10:53 am
Marching up to the sword, R3N-L3 pulled on it. It almost came free....But stayed stuck, tip rooted in the stone. Staring at it, he nodded. "I understand."

And let it go.
OOC:
Assuming the goblins we killed a few chapters ago are still good? Damn, so close!

Rolls

Will - (1d20+1+1d6)

(16) + (1) + 1 = 18

Nov 11, 2025 1:36 pm
Wolfram spits on his hands and rubs them together. Planting his boots firmly and taking a deep breath, he grips the sword and attempts to heave it from the rock, but fails. The sword is as immobile as the rock.

Rolls

Will - (1d20+0)

(17) = 17

Bane - (1d6)

(6) = 6

OOC:
Wolfram also killed at least one goblin back in Chapter 2, so I believe that bane should be a boon! A 23 would be a success! :) @Windyridge,@Dmbrainiac

OOo thank you!

Tzal eyed the sword, which is supposed to be a cursed but powerful sword, as everyone attempted to draw it out. He waited, wondering whom the sword will choose or whether there were any hidden contingencies that they were unaware of. He had grown wary of this fey realm with each passing moment as everything seemed somehow more twisted than what they actually were.
Nov 12, 2025 1:32 pm
Despite Wolfram's misgivings, the sword starts to give way beneath his touch. The stone relinquishes its grasp as the rogue pulls the weapon free with a flourish!

"I knew it!" Ompha declares triumphantly.
OOC:
The Orichalcum Blade bonds with whoever drew it from the stone. If the bonded character is alive, anyone else carrying or wielding the weapon is cursed until it leaves their possession. The weapon grants 1 boon on rolls to attack with it or 2 boons against goblins, attacks with it deal an extra 1d6 damage, and attacks against objects always deal the maximum damage. Finally, the weapon emits dim blue light whenever within 50 yards of a goblin.
