Milo turns to the group. "Well lads are we going to just sit here a die like dogs?" He shouts, "I for one intend to do down fighting!" He starts to try and fight his way through the crowd of bodies looking for some way out.

Hessarion is unfortunately not able to spot Wingnut among the pyroclastic skies.
So far this round:
Gorn is out. Hawthorne may escape next round along with the result of the roll below (so Ton may also escape next round).
Melda and Slane have failed Luck checks this drawn the focus of the guards.
Fortune feels attuned with the chanting of the shamaness.
And there are so many moving parts that I’m creating charts to track it all. But if I miss something that forwards the action, please let me know.

Seeing Gorn escape stirs Rurik, Wisco, and Cedrick, they agitate to look for a means of escape, now that there is a conduit.

Gorn, having led the way out of the cage, sees Hawthorne and Ton waste no time following the escape plan. Many captives fight, push, pull, scramble for the exit in fear for their lives.
Gan, and the raucous caused by their rattling and shouts, gives the nearest giant a clear focus to aim their spear. This spear could be a banner pole in your village it’s so long. And it’s coming right for Gan! The gongfarmer’s last moment was quick and the adrenaline of the scene shielded most of the pain. It felt as though fire seared through his chest for a split second and then peaceful darkness. The second giant, excited by the sudden burst in action, aims its spear for a skewer attempt. Slane and Melda are its targets. But the spear catches the metal bar of the cage and shatters!Immediately after the giant’s attack, Hessarion, Rurik, Nathan, and Stee are able to slip out of the cage!
OOC:
Gorn, with the lowest Luck of you three, make a Luck check — you need a 1,2, or 3Gan, and the raucous caused by their rattling and shouts, gives the nearest giant a clear focus to aim their spear. Conrad has felt a sudden surge of luck and finds the web of wyrd to connect his prayers. With Fortune also attuning, Martila raises her voice to the dark, swirling clouds and the clouds seem to respond! Thickening and darkening, a cluster of stormy clouds begin their descent toward the lot of you.
OOC:
You and Fortune will not need to make the upcoming Fort save AND have combined with Martila for two effects: reducing its DC and the summoning of a soot storm.May 23, 2026 4:09 pm
Things are heating up to a lethal fury! With Gon dead, Slane and Army panic and begin trying to push their way out of the cage. Astro puts away her spyglass to avoid breaking it and joins the clamor. Fortune grabs Martila's hand and tries to guide her to relative safety.

In the confusion of the giant attacks Stee and Nathan slip out of the cage. Stee looks to Nathan "I am going to hold for Tobias. You had to keep your eye on him but he was a good kid. I am going to try and help him. You should move with the others."

The world shook around him, rattling the poor elf like delicate china glass. Hessarion fell on his rump amidst the commotion as the crowd swarmed the cage, desperate for freedom. Picking himself up quickly, he followed their example, crawling past the bodies to slip out of his mobile prison. Landing quietly on his feet, he searches for any place to run and makes a stealthy escape.
Melda hardly registered the spear coming her way until it cleaved the cage open like a split log, the force knocking her back. She grunted and sat up, glimpsing an opening. "Come on, you whining ninny!" she yelled, rushing to her feet and lifting the halfling up bridal style. "Let's not miss our chance!"
Tully yelped as he was lifted like a feather and carried out of the cage by the brute of a dwarven woman. Both of them met up with the other escapees.
The young human woman, Berlotte, was one of the last to realize an escape was possible. She tripped over her feet once hurrying to one of the openings.

Gorn feels a prickle on the nape just as the giant narrows its focus on the most recent escapee. It draws to its full height and then slams the cage door on Gorn crushing the life from him. But the giant, in its rage, doesn’t stop the repeated slamming of the cage door. This loosens the straps keeping the massive cage held fast to the back of the bejeweled reptile! Suddenly everyone still in the cage feels it lurch as it slips from its perch and falls to the ground. But it doesn’t just stop. It begins to roll and bounce down the slope and toward the cliffs at the edge of the lava sea where Astro saw the cyclops in its wrestling match. The soot storm that Martila had summoned is closing in and will soon be swirling around the heads of the giants.
OOC:

Ton ran out of the cage first thing after picking the lock.
Fi Dre did his best to protect himself from all the movements and commotion while the cage was beaten, shaken and eventually dropped. He braces for impact when it touches ground.
Da Ak was trying to reach one of the cage's openings when it fell, surprising and unbalancing him in the process.
Jo was trying to push and kick anyone present between him and the closest opening when he was surprised as well by the cage falling.

Tobias sees The man who seems familiar to him slip out of the cage with another. The man stops and looks back at him then he remembers hie name was Stee Jans who worked on the docks and would give him a morsel of food from time to time. He would also try and give Tobias advice or try to get him to help with some of the easier work. Work is for suckers. Then the cage is falling and rolling. What the?!
Jeptha seeing all the confusion just quite make the opening to escape. He feels the cage tilt then hit the ground and start rolling. All he can think is luck don't fail me now.

OOC:
I posted the DC and the hp consequence so you can all decide whether to spend the Luck. Most likely, a PC that burns low will die soon anyway, but that might improve the manner of death. Choice and consequence. I allow players to burn down to 1pt of Luck, but the core rulebook suggests that some very unlucky things should start happening to that player. Sound fun?
OOC:
As rolled, there are three deaths already. I won’t narrate their demise until I see all the rolls so there’s still time to announce Luckburn. Upcoming posters, please just consider whether you will burn Luck as soon as you see the results. May 25, 2026 5:24 pm

The chaos and spinning had Berlotte ill, bouncing around with no defense. The world was blurry, nearly incapacitating her as she collided with the cage bars and the bodies of other prisoners.
