TheGenerator says:
I still need relationships for my character. Can I leave them blank for now and fill it in when I get a good idea later on?
Yes! Any blanks left can be filled in as the need or proper inspiration arises. @Tartarosso was also wanting to coordinate some initial purchases, feel free to work that out in this thread or Session 0 and optionally narrate in the [IC] Fin's Crossing thread if you want to roleplay the result.

If you're okay with it, I think we could do a little pre-descent roleplaying while we're in town, in parallel with the dungeon exploration. Does that sound right to you?
May 12, 2026 3:01 pm
I'm down for that :)

I might be a little slower than planned to respond this week. My brother brought home a case the the yucks and it latched on to me, so my focus is somewhat... split. I won't get too far behind though.

Get well soon!
May 13, 2026 6:14 pm
Don't worry, get well soon! I don't know what the equivalent saying is in English, but we have a saying: "the one that goes slowly, goes healthy and goes far away". So let's take it slow and steady. And then, as the paradox (Zeno's? I don't feel like checking right now) explains, the swift Achilles can never catch up to the tortoise.

Thanks for the well-wishes, you two. Apparently I needed a lot of sleep to get me focus back. Guess I wasn't expecting it to hit me that hard! Sorry for the delay; hopefully I'm done hibernating and can work on moving the fiction forward again. :D

Unfortunately, I almost certainly won’t be able to post anything this weekend. My daughter is having her First Communion, and between all the preparations, the party, and the religious ceremony, I’ll be lucky just to make it through. 😅
See you on Monday.

No problem. Enjoy the party! ☺️

Now you should find my character as a public page.
The sheet has'nt any fancy element but the substance is there.

Hastali

Unfortunately, I have limited time to dedicate to PbF, and I almost always post from my smartphone (today was an exception, so I uploaded the sheet).

I'd still like to modify it to make it more aesthetically pleasing. But as I said, I don't have that much time to devote to experimenting on this site. Could someone please post a guide on how to modify the card in the same way as @DocLeadfoot ?

So maybe, when I post again in a few weeks from a PC where gamersplane isn't blocked, I'll fix it.

I can help you with that, Tartarosso. There is actually a guide for character creation, submitting and posting already.

However, it's a little outdated. Here are some updates:
Step 3a: Create a Character
Most games and players use the 'custom' type of character sheet these days. They are much more versatile.
The easiest way to create a new sheet is to use a template that someone has posted. I can't see your character sheet, it doesn't seem to be public. But in case you need it, here is my character sheet. You can use the "create character" button to add a copy of it to your character repository and then edit it as needed.
[ +- ] Mart
Another important new this is that this sheet uses fillable fields which can be edited without using the "edit" button of the character sheet.
This one: https://i.imgur.com/EjvxmAl.png

In fact, it's usually a bad idea to edit the sheet with that edit button unless you need to change the structure.
The only time that you need that edit button is to change your character name (as it will be shown in your game) and to add an avatar image.

Keep in mind that any changes you make in the preview tab on the image above will NOT be saved! Only changes made in the non-edit view are saved.
Step 3c: Editing Characters After Creation
Quote:
4. The book icon adds this character to the Character Library so that other people can view the character sheet. This icon turns red when that character is in the library, and is grey otherwise.
This book icon is a bit buggy. It doesn't always go red when clicked. The only way to be sure is to refresh your character library page. If the book is red on refresh, then it's public.
When you have all that ready and working, you can continue with the information at
Step 3d: Submitting Your Character
Quote:
First you'll want to go to the Games page and click on the name of the game you want to submit the character to.
Instead of going to the game page, it's usually easier to go to your game's forum and click the "Game Details" button in the bottom right. Although the old way still works as well.

All this is possible on mobile, although it's a bit more annoying because you sometimes have to click on small icons.
[ +- ] Some extra useful info
Hope that helps! :)

Thank you. When I'll have time I'll try this guide!

No problem. Good luck! Don't hesitate to ask me questions if anything isn't working
May 22, 2026 9:54 am
Ok, sorry. Getting sick (along with a few other things) distracted me a bit more than I hoped it would, I guess. I should be good now. Hastali is approved.

One observation: @TheGenerator I think we need to make a map. How can we have a shared one? Also, who's going to draw it? I'm terrible at maps.

A very basic option is to use tools like Drawio or similar. But if there's something more suitable, I'm happy to use it. We'd also need to share the file, such as on Drive, OneDrive, or similar services.

Hmm. I hadn't thought of that.
Maybe a shared google draw? That way we don't need to download and upload it every time.
I'll see of I can make one tomorrow. Today has been pretty busy.
May 25, 2026 4:29 pm
@Tartarosso I've created a map on google. You should be able to edit it via this link
https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1wicQQxWiGOFbdS9HD_jTXJTNElpCJ7XFMSYPcngNzuY/edit?usp=sharing"

In the IC thread, I've added a map in that sticks to the bottom right of the page. You can open it to see.
What do you think?
May 26, 2026 11:36 am
Thank you! I can see it. I've also seen that a plus sign has appeared in the forum with the map.
Out of curiosity, how have you made it?
May 26, 2026 1:49 pm
It's a CSS trick that you can do in most BBCode forums.
I got it from another game where a the GM was using it. Basically, it's abusing the color-tag to add some styling that isn't in the style menu.
The down-side is you need to post it again on every forum page. You'll notice that it'll be gone when we go to a new page. But I'll add it whenever I notice it's gone.
This is the code:
[color=";position:fixed;display:block;width:675px;max-width:100%;max-height:85%;bottom:40px;right:0;z-index:1000;overflow-y:scroll;"]
[spoiler="Map"][img]https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/e/2PACX-1vQ0gD9lAlOHGgC267E8SSFOkZ5tKn9Z3HvbNisTE8Y9Nkxv94kbNv6iJ6GgcBkKhoVuWZJjerCbsOvS/pub?w=960&h=900[/img][/spoiler][/color]

The image itself comes from the google drawing. You can "publish" it and Google gives you a link that you can use like an image. That's the img-tag in the code above. And it even automatically updates, which is pretty neat. You don't have to repost after changing the image.

Not sure how much you know about web design.

If you talk to an ordinary non-IT person they will tell you that I know a lot about it, if you talk to the developers I work with as a Technical Business Analyst they would probably tell you that I don't understand anything about it 😁
