The last lines of Joe’s character sheet include some notes on paradigm and tools. So far I’m only really concerned about spheres I think he’s got or will look to gain soonish.
This did however give rise to a couple of questions.
1. Most spheres have quite broad applications, more so than some common(?) tools; and it’s not easy to think of some of the suggested tools covering all possible uses of the sphere. (Yes, I have used the tradition books from earlier editions for ideas and background M20 either assumes or fails to provide in as much detail.) For example, weapons are suggested as an Akashic tool for Forces, and for some effects this is easily conceptualised (e.g. hitting things, or flying); for others, less so (e.g. creating soft music). Is there a problem with using different tools for different aspects of a sphere, so long as the delineation is sufficiently clear?
2. Some tools are highly versatile; is there a problem with using the same tool, possibly in different ways, for different spheres? The example I have in mind for this is calligraphy; written on (or carved into) an object it would serve for Matter; pictured in the mind, or drawn in the air, for Spirit.
I’m assuming in either case that development to eschew the need for tools would be done by sphere, rather than by tool.
