Hey everyone.
As I've mentioned elsewhere, I've been tempted to run a Cyberpunk game for a while now. Before I put pen to paper and commit to writing up the story, however, I wanted to see whether there'd even be any interest in the game.
While the basis of the story isn't yet confirmed, a few things are already set in stone:
1.a.) As an alternative to the above, I would also be happy/willing to run a game of CY_BORG. All of the notes here would still apply to a CY_BORG game, albeit with a Night City-inspired city serving as the game's location rather than Night City itself. All other points regarding RP focus, the kinds and numbers of players I'd want etc would remain the same. Inspiration would still be drawn heavily from Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners for any game of CY_BORG.
2.) The game would be set in the 2076-2077 time period, and would draw heavily from Cyberpunk 2077 (the computer game) and Edgerunners (the show) for its themes, storyline inspirations, and focus. As such, it should be noted that this chronicle would include dark and mature themes matching those demonstrated in the above source material (in line with the site rules regarding swearing/content, the game would be a Private one).
2.a.) As per note 1.a., CY_BORG as an alternative would be set in CY rather than Night City, but would drawn heavily from Cyberpunk 2077, Edgerunners, and the Night City of both for its themes, storylines, and atmosphere.
3.) This will be a RP heavy chronicle, meaning that there will be an expectation for fully realised characters, detailed and lengthy posts, and between 3-5 posts a week. As part of recruitment, I would be asking for posting examples including the character being applied with - this is to ensure that anyone applying is comfortable writing detailed, RP heavy posts.
4.) The chronicle would focus on a new crew of Edgerunners, who are either new to Night City or have only just thrown their lot in with one another. Storylines will focus as much on each character's personal stories and experiences in Night City as it will on the gigs the crew chooses to take on.
5.) I would be looking for 3-4 players for this, though I'd considering running it with as low as 2 or as many as 5 with the right kind of players/writers. Commitment to post quality and inter-party RP is paramount in my decision as to how many I'd take on. Regardless of the above, I would not be accepting players on a first-come, first-serve basis, but would accept them based on character summary, game application and writing examples to ensure a good fit between GM and player.
6.) I would only accept characters at the start of play who belong to different Roles, in order to ensure crew diversity. Over time, characters can multi-Role if they wish, provided there is story justification, but to begin with the intention is to gather a crew with a variety of different skills and capabilities.
7.) Cyberpunk is a dangerous game, and Night City a very dangerous place. The RPG can be lethal, and depending on player choices and the luck of the dice there is a very real chance of player character death. While I won't go out of my way to kill characters, I won't sugarcoat the nature of the setting and the dangerousness of the game either. As such, applying players should keep these facts in mind.If there is enough interest, I'll likely create a separate Recruitment Thread, containing an initial game post and chronicle expectations/summary. In the meantime, feel free to use this thread to post questions/express any interest.

1.) This would be a game run using the Cyberpunk RED rules, coupled with the Edgerunners Mission Kit amendments. When the 2077 sourcebook is eventually released, the chronicle would incorporate that, too.1.a.) As an alternative to the above, I would also be happy/willing to run a game of CY_BORG.
