OOC:
Yes! That was what I was talking about. There are two types of players, those that do not read up on an adventure before they jump in to it and those that do not in an attempt to have a great time against the unknown, challenging themselves.

i'm not sure what the terrain is like here. If i use an action to stride, can i get adjacent to the python?

Sheon deftly strikes the Ball Python in neck with his rapier, causing blood to trickle down its neck. It hisses in response and recoils its muscular length.
OOC:
End of Sheon's turn.

OOC:
Yes you can. Each square is 5' so you are now adjacent to the Python.

OOC:
oh yeah, apologies for forgettingthe rolls

Rolls

Rapier - Atk/Dam - (1d20+6, 1d6+3)

1d20+6 : (15) + 6 = 21

1d6+3 : (2) + 3 = 5

Hell yeah! The Ball Python looks hurt now and is bleeding.

Jayne didn't swing; she drove. With a sharp, rhythmic exhale, she extended her arm in a perfect line of force. The needle-thin blade of the rapier didn't just cut—it pierced. It found the narrow, soft vulnerability of its upper torso, sinking deep through the fold of sinew and muscle. The snake let out a wet, gargling hiss as the steel bypassed its armored exterior to find its softer inner body. With a flick of his wrist, the duelist twisted the blade and withdrew in a single, fluid motion.

sorry for all the questions, but i thought delaying my turn permanently changed my spot in the initiative?
May 23, 2026 8:09 pm
OOC:
No, it just removes you from the Initiative Order then you decide when you take your turn after the creature takes its action.

I don't like it any more than you do,but RAW the python has a chance to whop me again now (and Jayne wouldn't get an immediate second turn).

You reset to your original position only if you do not take your delayed action,so as to prevent you from having no written way to return to the initiative order.

Yes! Sorry, you are right. I didn't quite read that properly.

According to the new Initiative Order, its the Ball Pythons turn.
The python whips its head around and sizes up the situation. Seeing the sheer number of opponents and already bleeding from only two strikes, it makes the decision to figth another day. It turns and slithers quickly off into the safety of the dense forest.

"Yeah...you better run." Fira snarls, slumping over a little. For all her bravado, she was the only one to bleed in this little altercation. She has fallen so far from the peak of her strength, and it almost cost her life. Nevertheless, she straightens up. "Now, unless wolves are scaly and green, we still have a beast to hunt. Let's get our asses moving."
May 23, 2026 9:01 pm
"Poor little guy. Probably just hungry if there's a wolf stealing all the food." Maybe says as the python slithers away.
May 23, 2026 9:37 pm
"Not exactly little, and all the same I'd prefer he find his dining elsewhere," says Sheon. His eyes watch the snake at it moves away, not trusting that it won't circle back. He swishes his blade absentmindedly, wiping the beast's blood off against the grass below his feet.

He turns to Fira, "Are you sure your okay to be hiking off through the woods? That looked like quite the brutal bite!"
May 23, 2026 9:41 pm
"I'm still standing, aren't I?" Fira chuckles bitterly. "And that's more than enough to keep you safe. Don't worry, I'll get it looked at once we make it back." With that, she adjusts her clothes a little to obscure the bite.
OOC:
OOC of course, any assistance is welcome. If anyone has a healing spell or Treat Wounds to offer, Fira will most certainly not refuse.
May 24, 2026 12:42 am
"Well then, as you say." She's right, they're better off getting moving. Sheon will just have to keep an eye on her to decide whether or not it's bravado. He'll start heading upstream one more, w

He nods to Jayne. "And thank you for stepping in and chasing it away, my lady. I wasn't relishing being it's next target."

"In fact that was a pretty good first scrap everyone! Keep this up and we'll be hanging wolf pelts in no time!"
