If I move from I7-K7,will I provoke an attack of opportunity or need to Tumble Through? The scale of the python is a bit unclear in that regard.May 21, 2026 7:55 pm

UPDATED INITIATIVE ORDER:Python (11)
Sapphira (9)
Sheon (1)
(Jayne (20), Trenton (18), Rhaemy (18), You wait for the right moment to act. The rest of your turn doesn’t happen yet. Instead, you’re removed from the initiative order. You can return to the initiative order as a free action triggered by the end of any other creature’s turn. This permanently changes your initiative to the new position. You can’t use reactions until you return to the initiative order. So you can take your turn immediately after the Python if you so wish. Sheon, you are still at the bottom of the Initiative Order.)

Where I belong given my natural 1 for Initiative! :)May 21, 2026 9:25 pm
The python does not slither or bound; it pours its immense weight forward like a stream. Its movement to the left rear of you, Sapphira, is a slow, eerily quiet drift, completely free of erratic jerks. There is a terrifying majesty in its forward march. Its belly scales lock and release rhythmically, leaving a smooth, faint path and giving the illusion that the ground itself is shifting to usher the beast forward. As it glides, it tastes the air with a dark, forked tongue that flicks out like a spark of magic, reading the unseen currents and vibrations of the world ahead.
With the speed of a striking viper, the serpent’s jaw snaps wide. Rows of needle-like teeth, slick with venomous, paralyzing saliva, strike out to find their mark. The impact of the strike hits like a battering ram, knocking the wind completely from your lungs and shattering the quiet of the wilderness. You are now held in the jaws of the Ball Python.
SAPPHIRA:
The Ball Python bites you inflicting 11 points of piercing damage. The Ball Python also Grabs you.
Effect: The target is immediately grabbed. This means they are off-guard (cannot easily defend themselves) and immobilized (cannot move unless they successfully escape).
How to Break Free (The "Escape" Action)
If you or an ally is grabbed, you can use the Escape action to break out.The Check: Make an Acrobatics or Athletics check against the creature's Grab/Grapple DC (Athletics DC of Ball Python: DC 16), or make an unarmed attack against their AC.
Success: You successfully break the grapple and are free to move.
Jayne, Trenton and Rhaemy - you may choose to be up next if you want to as you have your actions on DELAY.

The air surrounding the Trenton shimmers. His eyes catch the light, glowing with the pristine color of his deity’s domain. Positive energy emits forth from his upraised hand cast, creating a 5-foot emanation. He then moves backwards behing the cover of a stout tree and begins to sustain the spell and increase its area of effect.

Sorry for the typo, my second action is to move into H6,one square below Rhaemy. So my actions were Escape,Step, and Feint in that order. I would only have gotten a free Stride if my success was critical.Last edited May 22, 2026 2:33 am

As chaos erupts around the newly emerged snake, Rhaemy quickly falls back to give herself some space to work. She lifts her hand, palm up to reveal a small copper coin that begins to float as she gestures with her free hand. Suddenly, the coin dissolves and reforms into several long thin spikes that fly toward the snake at her command. Each of the darts fly wide, but quickly return to her hand where they reform into the copper coin once more.

Do we know what the python's AC is? Is it just using the standard python stat block?May 22, 2026 3:13 am
OOC:
Will not be releasing AC's of creatures as meta-gaming is such a temptation and don't know why player's would check stat blocks as their characters don't have them.May 22, 2026 3:21 am
OOC:
I was more inquiring as to how Azryel knew Rhaemy's attack missed, as if there was information I was not privy to. However that part was edited in later.May 22, 2026 3:36 am

Feel free to delay this if anyone else is jumping into initiative before me.But the girl is standing right there, already wounded by a bite Sheon is pretty sure would have killed him and the little gnome looks to be within easy lunging distance as well. He doesn't feel that his dropping back will end well for them. Trent doesn't seem like he'll be a very good distraction hiding behind a tree, he'll just be the one smart enough to live.
Blast it, he knew coming back here was a mistake the moment he'd seen the job. He was going to die in these damned woods just like his father. Might as well get it out of the way early.
He draws his rapier from his belt with a flourish and steps towards the creature, twirling over roots and fallen branches. It won't be worth much trying to hack through the things scales, so he'll need to be careful to land its point in the gaps between them.
"Get out of here, you big ball of slime! Go jump in the river! There are easier prey elsewhere." he shouts as he tries to dart inside the range of its bite to thrust his point into its neck.
OOC:
What Sheon is going for here isMove 1 - Free weapon draw and move -- to J7 presumably so that I'm not in everyone's line of fire, though if the I9 is impassible due to trees I'll head to I7 instead
Move 2 -Attack with rapier
Move 3 -Raise a shield (buckler strapped to left arm)
