RP - Act I: Futures edge

Apr 28, 2026 9:01 am
OOC:
So we begin! As noted before: the Act I will also perform a role of some kind of "tutorial to the system" - so it may be a little "linear" (what I normally don't like, as I like to stray from the path:) ) but I hope it will by "fast fun" for you all!

Please read the red text above first!

Map of what you currently see below, you are at the "Start" text position.
https://i.imgur.com/LIbzsF2.png
You hacked the lifts—froze them mid-shaft at a narrow maintenance tier, a forgotten slice of the station’s guts. You cut the primary power to this sector of the hostile installation, drowning the corridors in a dim haze broken only by the pulse of crimson emergency lights.

From that cramped service space, you climbed a fragile ladder bolted into a suffocating shaft, then crawled through the ventilation ducts. One of you carved a perfect circle in the plating with a laser blade—clean, silent, professional.

And at last, you dropped down without a sound into the main corridor.

Your eyes fell upon the first *real* obstacle standing between you and success: the blast doors leading into the detention block.

A few of you smiled. Maybe someone even thought:
"Ha! At this rate, we’ll wrap this job up before dinner."

After all - your plan was flawless.
Right?

…Not quite.

BEEP… BEEP…

The sound cuts through the silence.

One of the very lifts you used moments ago is about to stop on your level. In a fraction of a second, its doors will slide open…

Is it just some unlucky crew member carrying a self-heating meal for the prison guards?
—or—
Has the masking virus you slipped into the station’s intranet fifteen minutes ago already failed… without you even realizing it?

One thing is certain: the clock has started ticking.

And in mere moments, your presence may be known to the utterly ruthless soldiers of Serin-ru. And they… do not appreciate anyone interfering with their procedures.

What do you do? You have only seconds to act.
OOC:
For clarity: you’re standing in front of a blast door. To your left is a terminal. Corridors stretch east and west, but after a dozen steps they vanish into darkness. To the south, you see the elevator doors—about to open.

**What I’m looking for in your first "ideal" post:**
Your characters’ immediate reactions to the sudden shift—what do they do? Each of you can act independently (as long as you don’t scatter completely at this stage). What do they think about the mission now? What do they feel, knowing the elevator is about to open?

That said—treat this as inspiration, not a constraint. Write what you feel. I just need to know whether your characters act(or just wait), and what they do in these final seconds before the doors open.
Apr 29, 2026 4:50 am
Mobius pulls his gun and points to the right (if facing the elevator) before ducking out of sight.

He knew this job was bad news. Yeah, let's sneak onto a space station that just so happens to have a conspicuously unguarded docking bay, sneak about until we already the Serin-Ru knee breakers! Smart, Mobius, real smart. Let's see how lucky you really are.

He looks at the Cielo, Dash, and Dr. Sims to make sure they're following.
Apr 29, 2026 8:28 am
Cielo looks towards Mobius and notices his movement — and before he even realizes it himself, he starts to follow Mobius, almost instinctively.

Cielo knows how to act in a time of peril from his past experiences. In a split second he thinks, "Oh god, of course Mobius is testing his luck again." As he follows, he looks back at Dash and Dr. Sims — with a look of urgency in his eyes.

Cielo's heart and experience tells him that splitting off will bring devastating consequences already, so he hopes his fellow crews understand that too and beckons them to follow.

If Mobius ducks behind one corner, Dash ducks behind the opposite one, nods, and pulls out his pistol. Part of him knows accessing the terminal might bring about some quick, clever solution, but if he’s honest with himself Dash is itching for some action.
Apr 30, 2026 2:03 am
Dr. Sims had been quietly following behind the others pleased that his hack had worked. So when the warning sounded in the corridor, he froze.

No. That can’t be right.

He turned just in time to see the others already moving for cover. "Oh, that’s not good," he muttered under his breath, hurrying after them.

Colin slipped in behind Dash and drew his pistol. "I really thought that would have worked," he murmured, more to himself than anyone else.

OOC:
Sorry, for a little delay, but the weekend was budy - as usually but this time it overlapped with bigger holidays in my country. Anyway I'm back on GP and probably will be able to post daily.

As all of you took cover I will presume your intention will be to attack whoever is coming from the elevator. If I'm right: please all of you roll "Action check" (initiative in this system). This will determine how soon each of you will be able to go and even how many action to take.
BUT as you all decided to take cover, and Serin-Ru soldiers will not immediately see you -> I will rule that you all roll your Action Check with: d20-d4 (so positive step for you)

Either way: we are going into our first "Action Rounds"! And will move according to the result of yours and Serin-Ru rolls.

Of course you can do with your action whatever you will feel appropriate - don't feel obligated to attack:) But certainly it is not a bad choice... ;)
As the last of you slips behind the corner and presses their back against the cold, unyielding metal wall, time seems to stretch—one more split second that lingers far longer than it should…

Then—hissss—

The elevator doors slide open.

Footsteps follow. Not one. Not two. Several.

Heavy boots strike the deck in perfect, measured cadence—disciplined, precise… trained. Whoever just stepped out isn’t wandering. They’re taking positions.

In the low hum of the station’s ventilators, that rhythm cuts through the silence like a metronome of impending violence. Each step lands with unsettling regularity, echoing down the corridor… syncing, almost unnaturally, with the tightening tension in your bodies.

You can feel it—tiny hairs rising along the back of your necks, as if your instincts are trying to match that same cold, mechanical tempo.

As one of you dared to peek behind the corner, they would confirm that those are indeed surge-soldiers taking their positions in front of the elevators, using the corridor walls for potential cover. Each solider wears dark red armor emblazoned with the silver slash marks of the Serin-Ru. The armor covers each soldier from head to foot, offering protection from most attacks. The surge-soldiers carry quantum blasters, heavy-looking weapons that are more powerful than pistols but not as bulky as rifles.

Luckly - due to you taking precautions and cover - they don't see you... yet. And are preparing to advance further down the corridor, towards your position, with very orderly and trained manner in complete silence as they too would't want to give away their presence.
OOC:
Please all of you: roll d20-d4 and tell me how you prepare for what you are planing to do.
May 5, 2026 7:25 am
Dash will turn to Dr. Sims, and in a brisk, low tone say "We're blown. If you've got any tricks up your sleeve, now's the time."
Without waiting for a response he turns back toward the enemy, bracing for what's next. He looks across the hall to Mobius and Cielo. Wordlessly he indicates to them that it's now, or never.

Rolls

Action check - (d20-d4)

(13) - (2) = 11

May 5, 2026 8:21 am
As Cielo hears the footsteps approaching them, he has already moved his hand to his rifle. He notices Dash signalling to him and Mobius prepares for action — bloodshed, even. Cielo looks back towards Mobius, and whispers, "Listen, dude. If you've got any shenanigans to do, now might be the time. Do be careful though, luck can't take you everywhere." As he says that, he looks over to Dr. Sims and Dash, quietly indicating them to prepare.

Rolls

Action Check - (1d20-1d4)

(8) - (1) = 7

May 6, 2026 8:54 am
OOC:
Ok, so we now have all Action Checks:) Each of you have 2 actions per round of combat. A round of combat is divided into 4 phases (in order): Amazing, Good, Ordinary, Marginal. You can make one action in each phase. Short move (walk) can be a part of Attack (Unarmed, Melee, Ranged). You can spend your action on avoiding hits/doge -> that would make you harder to hit, but that's all of your action. You can move (run) at your full speed as your action. For sake of simplicity let's say that all of you have Walk 6 and Run 16m for action. The enemy is at 10-12m from you - assuming that you all stay at the corner of the corridor. Other then that you can do anything for your action that will seem reasonable in compering to those above. Remember about your "base situation die" -> for atributes or "broad skill" we will roll with +d4 (d20+d4), for speciality skill it will be just d20 (step = 0d).

As for now we try to play according to rules: the range matters. That means if any of you will decide to range attack without moving out of behind the cover it will be:
PC Skill Spc. skill Range Roll Damage
Dr. Sims [Stutter pistol] - Ranged Wpns. Mod. Pistol 14 / 7 / 3 Medium range D20+d4 [d6+2s]/[d8+2s]/[d8+4s] Li
Dash Briscoe Laser Pistol- Ranged Wpns. Mod. Pistol 13/6/3 Short range D20-d4 d4+1w/d6+1w/d4m En
Mobius Mass pistol - Ranged Wpns. Mod. Pistol 13/6/3 Long range D20+d8 d6w/d6+2w/d6m En
Cielo Rourke 11mm charge rifle - Ranged Wpns. Mod. Rifle 13/6/3 Short range D20-d4 d6+1w/d6+3w/d6+1m Li

After rolling your to hit roll, you can edit your post and add proper damage roll - if there will be a hit:)
https://i.imgur.com/Z3IbIjM.png
Map - 6 squeres is about 10m:
https://i.imgur.com/LIbzsF2.png

The first phase each of you can act - use 1 of your actions, you can always wait with your action for the next phase:
Amazing Good Ordinary Marginal
Mobious, Cielo Dr Sims Dash, L1, R1, L2, R2

So you all go before the Surge Soldiers! :) There are 4 of them: 2 on the left and 2 on the right: L1, L2, R1, R2.

RAW it would be you should move with the order of your rolls - the lowest first, but since this is PbP - anyone can move in either order in each corresponding phase.

Please write OOC if you are planning to skip current phase!
OPENING Phase: Amazing

Mobious, Cielo do you use your action? How? RP and rolls if needed - please :) Ask anything if in doubt.

May 10, 2026 2:40 pm
Cielo moves slightly — enough to get information about the positions of the soldiers. "The ball's in our court, let's not mess this up." he mutters to himself, as he aims to attack the first soldier on the left side.

I'm assuming the roll below is a failure, since my weapon skill score is 13/6/3? Correct me if I'm wrong though ;)

Rolls

Attack roll - (d20-d4)

(17) - (2) = 15

May 11, 2026 9:12 am
OOC:
You are correct, unfortunately it's a miss :/ I imagine all of this happening in splits of secounds as all of you will be able to act before Surge Soldiers and I will try to describe it in this way. I see it as slow motion scene right now :)
It was Cielo who moved slightly, taking his charge rifle sight near his eye to have a better aim... then the action starts. All things put in its designated motions, by the will of brave fighters of each side. Time seams to freeze for the brave company of space adventures, almost as everything would be happening all at once... in fact being only slightly delayed in time by each of team members reaction time.

The trigger was pulled. The light from the barrel illuminated the darkened corridor. The bullet left it. Flying mercilessly towards the first solider to the west, as he was just about to leave his cover and start running through the corridor. But was it fired too soon? It bounces off the wall near the solider head and ricocheted towards the east elevator door.
OOC:
@Qralloq oportunity to use Mobious action in Amazing phase. Or you can pass and wait for the next one. Then Mobious, Cielo, Dr Sims can act in either order in Phase Good.
Amazing Good Ordinary Marginal
Mobious(2A), Cielo Cielo(1A), Dr Sims(2A) Dash(2A), L1, R1, L2, R2

May 11, 2026 2:30 pm
Mobius knows of they're find they're dead anyway and steps to the corner and fires, the edge of corridor hopefully blocking most of his body.

Rolls

Attack - (1d20-1d4)

(6) - (2) = 4

Damage, 1d6+2w - (1d6+2)

(6) + 2 = 8

May 12, 2026 11:59 am
OOC:
Qralloq/Mobius - as your weapon has range 2/6/12 (its strong, but short range I guess) you are shooting at Long range so with d20+d8. As I noted in my post in the table. I will roll d8 and we will see what will come, and than edit this post with results and next steps for all.
Edit: So final result will be 6+4 = 10 -> so Ordinary success, and would be d6w damage. You rolled max so the S soldier ends with:
6-1(armour roll) = 5 Wound damage and 3 Stun secondary damage
The first soldier on the right was hit by Mobius' Mass Pistol with a gut bending thud, apparently harming the man dressed in red heavily, probably even striking between his armour's stronger parts, finding the weakest spot it could on his belly. But the man is still standing.
OOC:
Amazing Good Ordinary Marginal
Mobious, Cielo Mobious(1A left), Cielo(1A left), Dr Sims(2A left) Dash, L1, R1, L2, R2
[ +- ] Enemy
We are officially in Good Phase: @Qralloq,@dabaggins,@Quark_Venture PC's can act in ANY order!

Mobious and Cielo have only 1 action left, Dr Sims 2 - but can only use one in this phase.

Your rolls if your PC won't change positions for your ranged attack with current weapon would be:
PC Roll Damage
Dr. Sims D20+d4 [d6+2s]/[d8+2s]/[d8+4s] Li
Dash Briscoe D20-d4 d4+1w/d6+1w/d4m En
Mobius D20+d8 d6w/d6+2w/d6m En
Cielo Rourke D20-d4 d6+1w/d6+3w/d6+1m Li

Of course you can do anything else too, as your action:)

OOC:
Yes Dr. Sims/dabaggins it is a hit and with Goog Success -> you rolled proper damage :)

For Mobius it's Ordinary Success and damage will be Wound, not Mortal - but rolls are perfectly fine. I'm assuming that you continue to fire at the same soldier.

Rolling for armor for both cases and will narrated shortly, by editing the post.
Dr Sims' folded in very good stance (especially considering his main profession), aimed at the previously wounded solider and hit him at the most desirable place: in the center of his chest - the spot that provide a best balance between probability of hitting the target and making a sever damage. His Stutter pistol makes a loud noise when the accumulated sonic energy leaves its muzzle. But the force meant to incapacitate even the most aggressive rioters... without making permanent harm to them... seems to be simply shrug off by the solider armor.

Mobius' shot comes almost immediately after, his mass pistol producing the short-lived mass singularity that teared the guts of sourge solider a moment ago. This time hitting much better reinforced part. Making a lesser effect. But combined with the previous wound it's enough to make the solider barely standing on his own feet, additionally making him wobbly by the force of the impact.
OOC:
Due to bad roll: 0s damage from Dr's hit.
Mobius hit: 2w 3s (secondary) damage

@Quark_Venture Cielo has still one action in Good phase, then we move to Ordinary phase with 1st action for Dash and last for Dr Sims... before the soldiers go... :)

@dabaggins,@KingHarkinian you can post now too, I will try to resolve it in order after Cielo's action.

If Quark won't post until Friday evening, I will try to bot their PC this time to move the game forward. But I really hope he will be back with us until that time :)

Rolling for armor and will edit this post in the moment...

Wow... dr Sims two ones in the row for damage... let's hope the next round will be better:) Another Ordinary success, but armor absorbed everything.
Dash'es eagerness for some action probably made him too excited as his shot missed severely the most wounded soldier.

Dr Sims' shot with his Stutter pistol was very well aimed again, but fine armor of solider that was most unlucky this day - to be hit first by all accurate shots - saved him again as he was truly at the brink of collapse.

Cielo's well trained habits of seasoned soldier seamed not to be overtaking his body just yet... as another of his shoot missed the target.

The series of missed shots must have given the soldiers a little encouragement and a gap of time between the next series, causing them to decide that this was the right time to act at least.

Without any visible communication - as they would share a single mind or were so well trained - R1 solider switched positions with R2, apparently giving himself time to take a second breath. (+1 step to hit R1 from now on, as now he is in cover!)

R2 taking the position of his teammeber starts to shoot almost immediately to the best visible target, across the corridor: Dash.

Almost at the same moment L1 pulled the trigger of his quantum blaster at Mobius.

Then L2 - to surprise of the adventures - made a move that only brainwashed soldiers would: jumped straight into the corridor in front of him on his belly, falling prone becoming harder to hit and much closer to each of you with his blaster ready to shoot in the moment.
OOC:
Last action for Dash @KingHarkinian !

Then s soldiers and next round!

Please consider new range for L2 and that he is prone now - if you choose to attack him.

And: remember I like narrative games, so you can always try to do something other than shooting i.e. using the item that person of your profession could have on them in this situation. But I will allow to "find" such item in your packets only once per act. Although the shooting right now could be quite a good option :)

Rolls

R1 armor - (d4)

(4) = 4

R2 shooting 11/5/2 at Dash (+2s due Dex res and medium range) - (d20+6d)

(8) + 6 = 14

(15) + 6 = 21

May 20, 2026 11:01 am
OOC:
Both shots have missed - in truly stormtroopers way... :) - so no armor rolls, Dash can act normally.
Edit: All of the soldiers are at short range for you (20m) so -1s for shooting, but the L2 one is dashing (no pun intended... ;) ) on his belly through corridor so he has +1step to shoot so -1 +1 = 0s for shooting at him.

As I unfortunately forgot to include your PC's DEX Res. Mod. steps in rolls and they rolled pretty bad... it means that all shots are missed! :)
Soldier market by the adventurers as R1 in their minds is not sticking out from his cover, making some hasty moves - probably in desperate try to right himself up in order to continue the fight and stop some already visible bleeding, spilled on the floor next to him. But the painful, audible snort indicates that probably he is not very successful at his attempts.

L2 tries to take his revenge on Dash that hurt him a moment ago, but misses... just enough to make Dash tense a little while quantum energy burns a nice hole in the wall next to him, but not enough to cause him any harm.

R2 taking the team's doctor - Dr Sims - at his viewfinder: misses badly, striking the door that separates the team from their destination rather nowhere close to his initial aim. Maybe because of the groans of pain from R1 being too distracting for "forced" (rather than "trained") soldier ?

L1 came closest to hitting his target - Mobius - but his gambler's instincts saved him once again as he ducked behind cover at the last second.

@dabaggins there is a terminal to the door just behind your PC -> on the wall. Probably should have marked it, but it was in the description of the environment in first post (I'm pretty sure:) ) So if you want to try to open the door in the meantime - your PC WON'T be any more exposed than he is now.

Also: -d4 for action check was only due that you surprised them a little and were ready for them just as they left the lift - on the first round. So from now on please roll just d20 for action check. In Dr Sims and Mobius case: ignoring d4 fortunately doesn't change anything:)

This is how it works according to Players Handbook:
- you can move and take action in the same phase! :) but
- according to how much you would move there will be penalties to your action roll (very logical in my opinion), look at the table:

Dr. Sims hunched over the terminal, his fingers dancing across the interface while energy bolts slammed into the wall above him. Surge soldiers were still very close to them and he felt that.

Sweat dripping from his brow, he sliced through the last security layer with a decisive keystroke. The terminal beeped in confirmation.
With a heavy grinding sound, the immense blast doors slowly slid open — not smoothly, but wide enough to pass through.

As he looked hastily into the other side he saw a cavernous chamber. Cell doors line the walls, and similar decks extend above and below this level. The overhang in the center of the chamber gapes like the hungry maw of a bottomless pit, waiting to swallow anyone who steps too close to the edge. A control station is suspended in the center of the overhang, separated from you by four meters of open space. He knew that to see more details the would have to enter the chamber.
OOC:
Congratulations! You managed to open the blast door! But still have Surge Soldiers on your backs...

L2 being in the best position to see that it was Dr Sims that opened the way out for their pray makes a slight sign with his hand and return to firing at the team's hacker... and doctor. Hitting him hard at the side of his body. Hopefully Doctor's fancy Long Coat will be able to stop most of the energy impact.

R2 seeing the combat sign from L2 aims at the doctor too, but only makes another dark mark on the wall above the successful hacker.

L1 this time shoots at Cielo, but misses badly... almost hitting L2 laying in the center of corridor in the process, making the already-enough-exposed soldier move's even stiffer.

R1 tried again to stop his wounds from bleeding, but completely unsuccessful kneels down and prepares to return to active fighting.

Rolling for Soldier armor, then editing to resolve this round.
After edit:
Massive and precise shoot from Cielo rifle at L2 shoulders and back would kill the daring solider out right, but his futuristic armor being there not for nothing saves him from certain death. But the solider is visibly shaken and hurt.

Almost as in exchange Dr Sims was hit heavily in the side of his body... but his fancy Long coat seamed to work better than ever, stoping as much fire power as it could. As Doctored slipped hastily through the opened door he once again could see a cavernous chamber.

He remembered immediately that Concord Intelligence didn't provide them with the exact cell number that ambasador is held in. And that his team will have to figure it out by themselves.

Dr Sims notice that there is a similar terminal on the other side of the wall, but this one is a little bigger as it would be useful for more things than only opening the door.

At the center of the chamber at the hovering platform - that doctor qualified as control station - there seam to be even more computer terminals and devices. Luckily Doctor didn't notice anyone being currently at the station.

The cells have only a small viewer in their doors and code panels next to each.
OOC:
Since doctor spend whole action on moving only I decided there won't be any penalties next round - for now:)
So: the a little different panel is indeed on the other side of the wall. To use(take control for some time) it Doc will have to make another hacking attempt.
Mobius hit perfectly in the center... of the right lift door.

Well aimed shoot of Dash finally makes daring surge solider having his red armor on body ripped open making him fall senseless and meeting his end at the center of corridor. Apparently he checked empirically that... it wasn't the best plan to execute in current situation. The Sherin-ru combat strategy databases will remember that.

Dash grins seeing the casualty he inflicted. One more penny on the scales, he thinks to himself. But before he can feel too satisfied he sees Dr. Sims take a hit to the side and that old feeling begins gnawing at him again. He follows Cielo and Mobius's lead- running and gunning. He aims for R1.

After the quick look to ensure that no guards are on this side of the door Dr. Sims turns his attentions to the Door terminal.

As soon as one of the others enters in he says quietly to them. "I'm afraid we might have to come back the same way. Should we close the doors now or get rid of them first?" motioning back out the door towards the soldiers.
OOC:
Dr. Stim's action this turn is going to be understanding the door terminal, first to close this one but next if he could open any of the cells. For now he isn't doing anything other than hacking the system to take control of it. He will wait until they are all inside before he does anything with any door.

Cielo rushes towards the door with great dedication and purpose to take his new positions. Leans his back agains the cold door, turns his torso to the left and back takes a fast snapshot as he would like to say: "get off me!". And indeed it was only a missed deterrent shot. If it make any impression on the surge soldiers remains unknown to their full mask helmets.
OOC:
Rolling some dice... will edit soon...
After edit:
R2 gets 3w and 3s dmg from Mobius hit!
Mobius took few steps towards the door, turned swiftly and fired his Mass pistol at R2... hitting - still "fresh" - solider hard and pushing him back behind the corner. Again the solider armor stopped half the damage... but the artificially propelled mass must have hit the solider hard!
OOC:
Hehe... after situation die the result is exactly 13 -> so the highest value possible that means a hit! And the hit (after armor) makes... only 1 wound dmg... but it's also exactly enough to defeat the wounded R1! I would say: very lucky rolls:) But you know: "never tell me the odds":)
Dash before rushing after his friends: peeked around the corner. His trained pilot's eyes saw the opportunity just-at-the-last moment: wounded R1 solider peeked too. And Dash's laser pistol was ready. The daring pilot pulled the trigger almost unconsciously as his finger would work by its own will. The blinding light left the barrel... and hit with tremendous force the battered solider... straight into his helmet's eye socket... ending his angry existence for good. Then it was the Dash's legs that lead him behind the door. Mind planned. Body executed.

Dr Sims successfully connected to the terminal, even though his side of his body still being sore. At first the systems looked old and Doctor thought that it would be a peace of cake. But then he realized that one of the security measures was so old, that he didn't remember to ever dealing with it before. Genuinely surprised by the fact, he didn't manage to hack the terminal... for now.

Only thing he learned is that the terminal can be used to control the blast door... and something else, but probably not opening the cell doors. He predicted cell doors should be controlled from central platform hanging in the air. He also noticed finger prints reader and retina scanners on the terminal, what should provide him with some hint what could be this terminal used for besides controlling the door.
OOC:
No luck this time Dr. Sims! :( But... you can spend another action to tinker with the terminal, too. As Doctor is getting to know the systems it will be -1S bonus for another try (so d20-d4 roll) ! BUT: Critical failure will be on 20 and 19 on Control die this time... :)

If you manage to hack the terminal let's say that you will have control over it for at least around 15 minutes - in this period Dr Sims will be able to control the door and access other terminal functions freely (even within the same action time period -> Ordinary phase, before Soldiers).

OOC:
Because you should roll with -1S bonus (d20-d4) we can assume this is an amazing success! That means you were very fast this time. And you can do something within the same action with terminal. You discovered that the terminal is used for registration of prisoners at this prison block... and you even managed get access to the full list of prisoners kept on this floor/block.

So what are you doing @dabaggins with your newly gained control over the terminal? Control door somehow? Browse the list? Trying something else maybe? As this can be significant, I think I should wait for your decision before narrating outcomes and making actions for the rest of surge soldiers.
Jun 18, 2026 2:27 am
Dr Sim's turns to the others, "I got it working. Close the door or take out the soldier's first?"
OOC:
Dr. Sim's actions will depend upon what the others agree to. He will either close the door or if they want to keep fighting the soldiers he will try to determine which cell the ambassador is in.

OOC:
Very well! So waiting for players/PCs to figure it out together:)
Jun 18, 2026 2:45 pm
Mobius waits for a moment to fire back as gunfire fills the hallway. "If they get away they'll call for reinforcement's for sure. Might have already, maybe not."
Jun 20, 2026 2:58 pm
Cielo agrees with Mobius and adds, "Good point. There's also a very high chance that this is our only way to return. Finishing the job now would be helpful as it seems.
Jun 20, 2026 10:35 pm
Dr. Sim's listens to the others, "Yep, that was my read on the situation as well... now where is our ambassador." He turns to the terminal confident that the others will deal with the threat and sees if first he can determine where cell the ambassador is in and then open it.
Jun 21, 2026 4:57 pm
OOC:
Are the prisoners visible at all? Like, could Dash try and find the ambassador just by looking? If not, he'll start blasting at the soldiers again with the others.
Jun 23, 2026 9:31 am
OOC:
@KingHarkinian Doors have only small like 5x15cm visors inside the cell. So you can look into the cells, yes... but only one by one, standing next to the each door. It will take some time to check every one of them this way. But you can try your chances by choosing random door and maybe you will find ambassador earlier:)

Dash also notices that each door has a code panel next to it, that must be assigned to each cell's door individually.
[ +- ] About the individual door's code panels spoiler
Dr Sims' ending of action resolution, after his choice:
As Dr Sims decided not to close the blast door and focus on browsing the prisoners list, he scanned the list fast with his well trained eyes, still having a significant dose of adrenaline in his body after recent shot. He quickly found the name: Talo Kostrul. The log indicates that he was put in the cell around 15 days ago. Dr guesses that it was not easy for the Concord to find him earlier. He wonders in what state he might be right now. Besides the ambasador there are 5 other prisoners held in this block. Doctor concludes - seeing names that should belong to humans or friendly species - that all prisoners could also be captured by recent Serin-ru raids and held here wrongfully.

Dr taps the ambasador's record and access his cell data. He reads the records... moving his eyes even faster... Sanitary submodule was changed just yesterday - at least the ambasador was able to take care about his hygiene properly. Or maybe he was trying some shenanigans? At least he finds the button called "Open door cell" at the bootom of the screen. Excited, he presses it. But the screen becomes red then the fallowing alert is displayed:
Access restricted after recent malversations. Door control moved to central platform's terminals only. Please contact the platform supervisor.
OOC:
That concludes Dr Sims tinkering with the door's inner terminal and his action. He can browse some more information - i.e. about other prisoners - next action. Still having control over terminal for time being. Marking on the map, where prisoners are held according to the terminal - [A] for ambasador:

OOC:
Time to spice things up! ;)
But the wounded R2 solider does something unexpected... he opens a small recess in his overalls on his chest... extends a small tablet like shape with a red button in the center of it... somehow even more red than his armor... hesitates for a split second... then presses it with grim determination, only seen by his body language. The button starts to blink! Soldier throws his blaster on the ground... and then starts to run frantically towards the opened door and adventures hidden behind them. Just as they thought they will have still time to shoot at the brainwashed solider, before he reaches the door... he leaps forward and his boots make loud noise... meaning that he is propelled forward with even grater force... finally falling down, prone... just in the center, surrounded by brave heroes gathered around the door.
