Jaedana, you quickly deduce that the security they have is just not worth the effort, not only that but you weren't quite stealthy in that attempt.

"We can try bamboozling the officials. I'm not entirely certain we want them to know what we are doing after all."

The next day ...
On that Deception roll of 24, Nitpick stands 3' or so tall but he walks with the oversized posture and confident strut of someone twice his size. Underneath his outer synthetic robe, he’s already adjusted his impersonate disguise. He maintains a synthetic, monotone voice and flawlessly executes lie actions to confidently state that he is "Section-Chief Unit 7-Gamma" on a priority inspection from the Stewards.

When the guards ask for his biometric clearance codes, Nitpick executes a bit of a diversion. He deliberately knocks his bulky administrative datapad off the counter. While the guards are distracted by the tumbling device, Nitpick uses his partially prehensile tail to quietly swipe an access badge from the desk, deftly stuffing it into his stretchy Cheek Pouches.

Instead of producing a standard ID, Nitpick launches into a blistering-fast, high-stakes Request action. He peppers the guards with complex, fabricated sector numbers, fake audit directives, and a stern warning about "retroactive administrative penalisation" for delaying his entry. The guards' eyes glaze over as he uses their own rulebook against them. Panicking under the pressure of the audit, they hastily approve his clearance and that of his entourage without scanning the badge—allowing the little space-rat and his 'work colleagues' to scamper directly into the high-security of Archive 404.

"Transistor. Orb. Piston," Old-Growth reminds his colleagues. "Anything we can find on these."

Archive 404 contains thousands of sensitive files and fragile or hazardous objects. Objects are categorized into exhibits: museum quality displays alongside climate-controlled storage organised by a general topic, such as Arshalin, Akiton, or Ubiquity. A thorough search would take weeks; with the help of an archivist, it might take hours.

Jaedana being somehow nervous in such restricted place, tries to help with the reaserch... but her training is always on, so she position herself so she would have a good view on the whole room.

Unfortunately, you have been detected and identified as an intruder. A network of security cameras, wall-mounted retractable turrets, and laser nets activate as soon as you have all stepped foot into Archive 404, who commands them to blast intruders with extreme prejudice. Dozens of tiny nodes concealed in the walls, floor, and ceiling unleash a kaleidoscopic barrage of lasers to all non-hardlight creatures in Archive 404.

Everybody needs to make a DC15 Basic Relex save. I have placed LUNAR-17 and Tapkey onto the map.

LUNAR-17 and Tapkey, DC15 Basic Reflex save.

LUNAR-17 just manages to save. Unfortunately Tapkey fails to save and takes 3 points of fire damage.
LUNAR-17's ocular processors flicker as she processes the impossible geometry of the incoming fire. Dropping to a flawless slide, she contorts her biomechanical body beneath a crisscrossing web of superheated beams, only just anticipating the kaleidoscopic refraction to emerge completely unscathed from the blistering torrent of energy.

The vibrant violet fur of the skittermander, Tapkey, immediately bristles as a prismatic storm of lasers locks onto them. The kaleidoscopic barrage paints the area in dazzling neon—incendiary reds, scorching yellows, and searing magentas. As the beams strike, they trigger a cascade of sizzling sparks against the gremlin's impressive fur, superheating the ambient air. Despite the fiery onslaught, the six-armed ball of chaos simply flails in a panic, trying to lend an instinctive, panicky "all-six" hands to block the dazzling onslaught, while his wide eyes widen comically against the blistering glow. Ouch!
