"I don't know forensic medicine, but let me take a look as well."

"Hey I wonder what this scan issue that was in the logs was about? Someone was trying to break into this guys memory, so someone thought it was worth knowing."

Nitpick, on that Perception roll of 21, you check TIER-99-PROFESSOR's body and you notice a nearly invisible, almost surgical wound stretching across one segment of Tierny’s abdomen.

OOC:
Hi Guys!

I just thought I would post something fun. Just a little online Newspaper type deal about the Adventure so far. Enjoy!

After Nitpick noticed surgical wound across one segment of Tierny’s abdomen, Jaedana expressed a high interest in it:
"What's going on with this wound... you think it's the cause of poor fellow death? Or was done after he died? Could it be used to access his internal memories maybe?" - she wondered and tried to figure it out by herself.

Rolls

Medicine - (d20+3)

(10) + 3 = 13

May 26, 2026 6:47 am
Jaedana, on that Medicine roll of 13, you see that he was in good shape before his demise.
OOC:
If anyone else would like to make an Arcana, Occultism or Religion check, make the roll.
May 26, 2026 2:30 pm
Vorza arched his snout to check on the body, his face silent with a grim, stoic expression. "So in the end, the killer found him. What is this item that he mentioned? I am guessing the killer found him and kept his body here, in the case?"
OOC:
Is there anyway to know what weapon was used to kill him? Will underground lore help here?
May 26, 2026 4:03 pm
Old-Growth leans over the body as the others point out what they found, trying to follow what he missed in his own examination. He perks up at Vorza's question.

"Item in institute collection. Check institute, see what's missing?"
May 26, 2026 4:07 pm
"This cut... Could it be ritual in its nature?" Jae wondered outloud.

Rolls

Religion - (D20+3)

(18) + 3 = 21

May 26, 2026 9:01 pm
OOC:
VORZA:
You are not sure if it was even a weapon that killed him. As a Vesk, though you have been around weapons of all descriptions most of your life given that a vast majority of your family members served in all aspects of military service and in mercenary service, you have never seen a wound such as that pointed out to you.
May 26, 2026 9:15 pm
Jaedana, on that Religion (Identify Magic) roll of 21, you discern from the nature of the damage that Tierny (and the plinth) were destroyed by a powerful spell called slice reality, which severed sensitive internal mechanisms at an atomic level, not by any type of weapon.
OOC:
OLD-GROWTH:
Make a Nature check for me please, also make an Aballon Lore check as well!

NITPICK
Make a Striving Lore check for me please!
May 26, 2026 11:04 pm
Now that Nitpick has pointed out the wound, Old-Growth studies it more carefully, something about it tugs at his memory.

Rolls

Nature - (1d20+5)

(17) + 5 = 22

Aballon Lore - (1d20+3)

(4) + 3 = 7

May 27, 2026 12:04 am
Old-Growth, on that Nature roll of 22, you now know that the flora around the plinth are all specimens native to Aballon’s Ice Wells, which have been cultivated in the climate-controlled storage network.

The well is a smooth, 3-foot-radius hole bored in the rock beneath the platform’s foundation. It drops 20 feet down into Striving’s underground infrastructure, a forest of steaming pipes and identical maintenance tunnels twisting into the dark.

OOC:
Everybody make a Perception check please!
May 27, 2026 12:44 am
Old-Growth looks up from the professor's form, it is not the wound that has snapped his memory, it is the scent, the scent of the flowers!

"These blooms, they grow in the ice well, they may be a guide."

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+5)

(10) + 5 = 15

May 27, 2026 7:25 am
"Oh... my... it wasn't any kind of weapon! Out professor was hit by a spell called: slice reality... it killed him from inside... poor guy..." - Jae was surprised even to herself that she felt so much compassion for... "a machine".

Trying to put her darker thoughts of the way the professor died to the side, Jae tried to be even more excited about their recent revelations.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+8)

(5) + 8 = 13

May 27, 2026 7:43 pm
Vorza granted and said, "Explains. I have never seen a weapon wound like that in my life and I have seen a lot of weapons. Spell it is then. Bad way to go."

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+5)

(6) + 5 = 11

"Death sucks, regardless of how you go. I think it's odd that we've be hired by the guy who was murdered to solve his murder, but I think we should help."

Vorza made a clicking croaking sound, "Wow, the professor has kept some cool things inside. I would love to have that spell amp and maybe one of those smoke grenades."
May 29, 2026 7:12 pm
Old-Growth examines the breaching gun, comparing it to his beloved machine gun. He decides against it, grabs his share of the credits, and leaves the equipment for the others to distribute.
