Imperial Mega Voidship

Jan 18, 2026 5:20 pm
Unlike most of the crew you wake up in small cramped quarters of your own. The main living space in your cube is barely 4 meters cube (13 feet) with a combined shower and fresher taking up barely 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) of that for any of you who are more than 1.8 meters (6 feet) tall, when you sit down you have to leave the door open to do your business. The water pressure, of course, is almost always barely a trickle and it never actually gets beyond slightly warm and quickly becomes very cold.

The reason you wake is that the line connected comm device in your room is broadcasting a simple repeating message. "Scout and Protection detail report to bridge. This message repeats!" It continues until you hit the recognition button. After that you get ready and go through the communal area where the scent of unwashed creatures of various species sleeping and rutting in close quarters assaults your nose. Once you make your way through that mess you head down the hallway to the elevator and there you press your personal voxx to the floor buttons and are laboriously lifted up to the command deck.

The Command Deck on the Scrap Hogg is possibly the most well cared for place on the small voidship. There is a bit of rust creeping in here and there but, mostly it is well polished and kept shiny. The various officers work at their stations and in the center of it all is the small throne where Captain sits staring greedily at an immense Imperial Voidship.

The ugly, corpulent, balding man stares at you with his beady eyes when you arrive. "Ahh my valuable Scout and Protection detail. Please look at the screen, that right there is real treasure! I can hardly believe the map I bought was real but, here she is, the Ancient Relic, the lost ship known only as The Eye of Ra."

He grins at the image staring at the ship on screen, as he fiddles with some knobs at his chair. The image turns and you see battle damage, shattered steel, and an opening more than big enough to fit the Scrapp Hogg. "We will dock there, set up our hauling nets and begin the process of pulling everything of value off her to sell. You, will clear the landing area and ensure it is safe before scouting the ship and ensuring the crew’s safety. As usual, any archeotech you can carry is yours to keep and any you tag will net you 2 percent of the profit from sales."

Silaster silences the vox and arms himself in wordless efficiency. The cold water, the stench of the lower decks, the press of alien bodies are endured without comment.

On the command deck he studies the image of the derelict, eyes tracing the ruptured hull.

"Old ships don’t die quietly."

He turns his masked gaze toward the Captain, contempt barely restrained.

"Let’s clear the landing."

His hand settles on the hilt of his blade.

Ol' Toothy stands at the edge of the group looking more like a solid block of groxhide and green than something living. That is except for the meaty green arm reaching up so he can pick at something in his teeth with his pinkie. Beady little purple eyes stare out from his bald square head, and after a while he gives a surprisingly lively response.

"Secure da landy place? Yeah got it, gunna scrap." He pauses, then jabs a thumb at the others. "Dunno what dis lot of scrawny grots is gunna be good for though."

He doesn't seem in the least bit wrong footed by the journey up. As a snake bite, Ol' Toothy lived his entire life around animals. And that doesn't include his fellow Greenskins. He spent most of his time wondering around, menacing the others and brawing with anyone stupid enough to look the wrong way at a 6'6 greenskin with aspirations of more flash.

The alarm had annoyed him though, and so he ungraciously adds; "Oh and the talky box in the tin hut you boys 'ave. Is broken, dunno how." and shrugs as though there isn't a choppa sized hole in the device.

Rho-Halax-872 offers a silent prayer to the Omnissiah for the blessings He has bestowed upon her, turning off her olfactory senses and relying on her internal respirator to supply her with oxygen as she makes her way through the communal area. Everywhere she looks she grimaces at the lack of proper care shown to the ship and the blessed machines within, logging the worst items she sees to attempt her own repairs and rites later when she has the time (there's never enough time for all of them).

Arriving at the relatively clean Command Deck she is finally able to breathe in the recycled air once more, stepping into place with the rest of the group. Her eyes are entirely focused on the screen for the entirety of the Captain's briefing. The Eye of Ra is truly immense, and the thought of the treasure trove of technology within sends a tingling of excitement through her circuitry. The thought of needing to work with xenos to retrieve it fills her with the opposite of excitement, but she cannot deny that their assistance provides a significant increase in the probability of successfully completing all mission parameters.

"Affirmative, Captain. We will begin cleansing the vessel of whatever sickness may lurk upon Her."

The Kroot warrior Razick keeps his own company a slight distance from the rest of the group, crouched against a pillar where he watches the display. The barrel of his long rifle bounces idly upon his shoulder as he studies layout of the wreckage, noting the massive structural damage in its side.

"I can only hope that whatever species dealt such a devastating blow to this behemoth is still lurking about," he says, speaking more to himself than anyone else present. The thick quills at the back of his head quiver as he rises to his full height and slowly begins to circle the display console. "It has been far too long since I have had a proper battle."

He glances at the rest of the group with a grin, then returns to settle down in his original spot now that his interest has been piqued.

Will sure ensure the best security you can afford. Can't wait to finish the job and get into my comfortable apartment
Bigvy Quickfinger is talke just laud enough for those near him to hear his sarcastic comment. And it so happen to only be Razick, who probably didn't notice annoying small ratling to get hide from him on the other side of the same pillar.

Finally Ratling steps forward only when he feel like he's been noticed asks That map sellers didn't mention reason he wouldn't seek it himself. Did they? Any ... how was human calling it... risk assessment?
Jan 19, 2026 1:11 pm
Ol' Toothy laughs at Razick's comment, the sound filling the entire space. His grin after shows the gold tooth, and it matches Razick's own. He square's up to the kroot, and although potentially shorter he's considerably wider. "Think yoove had a proper fight? Nah, I can show you a proper fight after I'm done."

He looks over at the screen. "Yoo'll have to wait till after I'm done to get whas left. Everybody knows orks is the first to the fight, and wez made for winnin."

Kaelith stands motionless in the shadows of the group, his hand loosely on the hilt of his wrapped void sword. His gaze is not fixed on the greedy gleam in the man's eyes, but on the cracks in the screen showing the fate of the lost ship.

«A ship called ‹Eye›... and yet it is blind to the void that has swallowed it,»
Kaelith begins, his voice as dry as the dust of Lazarus IV. He takes a slow step forward, the metal of his patched armour making hardly a sound.

«You speak of treasures and percentages as if flesh could satisfy the hunger of the void. To me, this wreck is another grave waiting to be properly sealed. My fate is already written; whether it ends in the bowels of the Eye of Ra or somewhere other is the interesting part.»
He tilts his head just a tiny bit, a gesture more like a ritual acknowledgement of death than a greeting. Then he turns his head to his comrades, who nowadays are used to his sermons.

«I will clean up the landing area with you because disorder clouds the mind. When the nets are prepared, I will be there. Let the stones be mine.»

Ringed by the soulless and expendable beings cast far from the divine light of the God-emperor stood a shorter woman, dressed in a black bodyglove adorned with oath seals trailing prayers written on yellowed parchment and with twin swords sheathed on her belt. She seemed slender to the point of malnourishment and with her head bowed she seemed among the least impressive of the group. But the lower bridge crew knew death walked among them and averted their eyes from her fervently. If they dared breathe reference to her person, they would have called her a Quiet One. They called her so not because her kind do not speak, but because of how they deal death. Indeed, they did have names, but they were only known to a few. Silaster Comondow knew her to be Martyria Voss. The others had no idea.

Right now, Martyria Voss was praying. It was a promise of what was to come.

"Emperor, Final Witness of All Things,
Burn away my doubt and hollow me until only Your will remains.
Let my hands become the ending You have already judged, and let every life I take be an act of worship."

The Viewscreen shows the interior of the Eye of Ra and you realize you are not entering through a rent in her armor, this is an actual docking bay. A haphazard shield glitters as your ship passes into the bay area puffs of atmosphere escaping as you enter into a truly immense dock yard within this Mega Voidship. It is big enough to easily hold other smaller ships like Scrap Hogg and there are numerous other berths most empty but a choice few of them already contain vessels in various states of dis-repair.

A corsair class Aeldari ship has had its engines removed and floats randomly around the bay. A Drukhari Torture Class Cruiser sits at a dock; the very front of the ship looks as if acid has eaten it away and some remnants of its crew float listlessly nearby. The remnants of a Space Marine cruiser is smashed into a wall at what must have been nearly full speed. A Chaos Marine Light Cruiser sits with just the front half at another bay with a red Paint Scrawled on the side "Solja Boys!". Another cruiser class Imperial vessel that looks very similar to the Scrap Hogg sits rusting on its own. Finally, Razick recognizes the Tau light research vessel sitting daintily at a dock, the only vessel that looks as if something is actually working.

The Space Hogg grinds against the dock as it slowly settles in, and you head down the elevator and then into the immense bay. The air is thin but breathable and you notice quite a few barricades set up within the docking bay itself. There are hastily cobbled together barricades all over the docking bay and most of the small exits into the mega ship have had steel welded to them. There is only one path left open into the ship a huge dark hallway and right next to it is a dead Imperial Guardsman and a message scrabbled onto the wall. "The eye doesn't see. The eye doesn't know. It sits in the darkness watching without vision. A blank empty socket staring into the dark and screaming."

Aeldari symbols on the wall opposite have been drawn with painstaking care. "Flee this wretched place before it is too late." Added on by other hands, not quite as elegant and certainly drawn in blood is, "Return to Comorrogh."

Tau symbols are written on the wall as well, "There is no Greater Good here."

Orcs have attempted to draw pictures near the opening here as well a huge red circle with an orc face in the center and then crossed out. Beyond that are more scribbles in blood, in marker, in any fluid that was at hand, most of them are raving madness but the others all have the same simple warning for anyone coming that it is best to leave.
Jan 20, 2026 7:16 pm
Rattling thinks to himself Why would otherwise waste time writing these warnings but aloud only quotes captain real treasure!
Jan 20, 2026 9:22 pm
Ol' Toothy stamps along the deck without a care in the world. While you might think the ork warnings scrawled around the place might draw concern he's far too stupid to care, and more than that orks will scrawl warnings on anything if they want to stop other orks nabbing it. It never worked.

Instead he walks to the dead guardsman, kneels down and proceeds to rifle through pockets and things. When he's satisfied there's nothing left to loot, he pulls the guardsman's teeth free and pockets them before turning back to the rest of the group. "Wot're you lot waiting for? Buncha squig livers."

With a wave of a meaty hand he starts down the corridor, humming as he goes without a care in the world. "Come on if you think yer 'ard enough!"
Jan 20, 2026 9:57 pm
"From the looks of things, we are far from the first to come across this wreck," Razick notes as he surveys the interior of the massive docking bay. He makes note of the various ships scattered about in various states of destruction, but still the cause is elusive.

"Aeldari, Drukhari, Imperial," he calls aloud as he makes his way toward the only open corridor. "Even Ork and the servants of Chaos. That Tau research vessel there looks to be the only one in working order out of the whole lot. Still, what could be so terrifying that even those idiot Orks wouldn't strip this thing bare?"

Razick takes one last look around the interior, then grips his rifle in both hands like a battle staff and steps into the corridor.

"Glory to the Omnissiah," Rho-Halax-872 intones as she steps across the threshold onto the deck of the Mega Voidship. She draws her Galvanic Rifle with mechanical precision, a mechadendrite snaking out from under her robe and pointing forward just before her, the steady pulses of her Auspex feeding whatever information it can glean from her surroundings.

The promise of danger from all the warnings scrawled about does little to hinder the excitement in her circuits, only add a layer of calm caution over the top. "The sacred vessel has drawn all manner of forces to it, human and Xenos. The Tau vessel may be the latest to arrive."

"I cannot ascertain if the Machine Spirit of this sacred vessel slumbers or has faded entirely. If I could find some means to interface with the sacred vessel it may significantly boost our survival-" The Skitarii finds her words interrupted by the Greenskin's challenge. She lets out a binaric click of frustration, but she certainly isn't going to let the Ork rush on ahead along and risk him getting his Xenos hands over whatever archeotech may lurk within the sacred vessel. She moves into step behind him, giving him a berth wide enough in hopes any foe that may lurk within will focus their attentions on him.
OOC:
I imagine the Auspex will be getting a lot of conflicting readings with all the ships around. but she'll be keeping an eye on it.

Kaelith takes one of his scrap-built flowers out of a shoulder bag and places it at the entrance, as if it were an entrance fee or an invocation.

As the massive bulkheads hiss open, revealing the jagged interior of the Space Hulk, he stops abruptly. He does not draw his katana, but merely places his hand on the guard. The cold, stale air of the wreck blows past him, and for a moment he seems to close his eyes, as if listening to the echoes of the corridors.
«Listen to me. This ship is a graveyard. Many have wandered here before us – looters, fools, and even those of my blood whom fate has led here.»
The Aeldari gestures into the darkness of the hulk.
«You are here for the scrap, for the gold, for the flesh. But should we encounter small, pulsating stones – gems that hold a trapped light within them – then they are mine. Do not covet them. To you, they are merely glittering glass. To me, they are the souls of my people, trapped in eternal damnation.»
He is aware, as the others, that he utters these words every time they enter a larger Hulk, but somehow the phrase has become part of the ritual of entering.

Silaster pauses at the threshold, just long enough to read the warnings without truly seeing them.
He steps past the dead Guardsman without a glance, offering neither prayer nor respect and melts into the shadows beside the corridor.

He advances silently, watching the dark for the first sin that dares reveal itself.
Jan 21, 2026 8:37 pm
Martyria Voss trailed the others. She had no objection to the Xenos taking the lead. Their purpose was to be slaughtered for the greater glory of the God-Emperor after all. She on the other hand would watch from the shadows and strike when the Emperor willed it. She whispered another prayer as she vanished in the shadows opposite Silaster Comondow..
"By the blood in my veins, I am bound to Him on Terra. By the blood I shed in His name, I am made pure. Let this dead hulk know my faith before it knows my flesh. The void may claim my body, but my blood is already tithed and the He Who Mastered Death judges me worthy to walk His darkness."

You move forward past the bones of the dead, long gone and unknown. Then the floor seems to be covered with a number of fleshy sacks, at first the sacks are motionless but as you move forward you notice that they are moving slowly. If you stop to observe one you note that there is something alive inside it. If you continue too much down the hallway you will surround yourself with these things.
Jan 22, 2026 9:13 pm
Silaster halts at the edge of the living floor, raising a clenched fist to still any reckless advance. His eyes move from sack to sack.

"They breathe."

He shifts his stance, blade drawn low, careful not to brush the quivering flesh.

"They want us surrounded. That makes them bait or sentries."
Jan 22, 2026 9:20 pm
The Aeldari pays close attention to the ceiling and access points from above so that he can immediately shower them with shuriken should enemies attempt to descend upon them.
OOC:
Clearly seeing nothing there - the curse of helmets...
