Savage Tales is a Savage Worlds game of pulp adventure set in 1937. We need two more players to replace those we have lost. Characters must be human, but begin with one free advance (to match the others). More details can be found here.

A Note About Social Setting: The 1930s were a much simpler and, in many ways, less complicated time. The lines between hero and villain were concise and clear-cut. Heroes acted in a certain way, as did their villains, and either rarely broke type. Unfortunately, it was also a time of social upheaval, when minorities and women were often treated as second-class citizens. I thought long and hard about how to handle this in this campaign, and rather than outright ignore it, I have elected to overlook all but the worst of it. In most cases, racial prejudice will not play a large part in this campaign. While it certainly existed, we will not dwell on it. You will not be penalized for choosing to play a woman or a minority. Such characters, overall, will be treated exactly as any other character. This may not be historically accurate, but it’s how I want to handle it. That said, there may be villains (or even heroes) who are intolerant of other cultures. Should you choose to play such a character, it does not give you license to be rude! Please avoid the use of racial epithets or slurs, and do not build your entire character concept around such.

All characters start with 5 skill points to represent the advanced science of the setting. There are some other details, all of which are covered in this document.

Rather than just take anyone who applies first, I would like for potential players to present their idea for a character. Just an outline will suffice. I will choose the two that are best-suited to the existing group. Those who are chosen will receive an invitation.

I propose to bring in 'Drasta' a female gunslinging private detective. She is a self-made woman and owner of the one person "Hellester's Detective Agency".

I have Savage World Adventure Edition, Fifth Printing for a resource but I don't really recall playing a Savage World game. I'm more than willing to expand my play to include such. I'm good for the long haul & rather active poster. (Many times a day checking.) Played in many of your games WhtKnt.

General work has been turtle rate and active her is seeking for something new and wild to bite on.

I propose the following character:

Jack "Redline" Mallory is a former Great War courier pilot turned globe-trotting adventurer. Mechanically, he is built around high Agility and Vigor with Piloting as his strongest skill, supported by Shooting, Notice, Athletics, and Repair. His Edges focus on action economy and cinematic risk taking, allowing him to act early, control initiative, and excel at dangerous stunts, chases, and vehicle scenes.

In play, Jack functions as the group’s mobility and momentum character. He scouts ahead, handles vehicles and advanced technology, and thrives when plans become chaotic. He is durable without being a front-line bruiser and contributes consistently in combat, exploration, and pursuit scenes without overshadowing specialists.
