Yazeba gives Gertrude a slight nod of approval as she opens her magical knapsack (it's bigger on the inside), slipping the huge mushroom into it. She then turns as Mr. Boggs approaches and accepts the death's cap mushroom from him. "Boggs. I thought you were off seeing the world. The postcards you keep sending are piling up on Sal's desk."

Her chair moves itself even as she continues chatting with Yola over some of the good times way back when. "You know, hunting in the night like this reminds me of the summer of 1863. Were we in Alabama or Georgia? I can't quite recall but we did have a grand time indeed and the night was dark and lovely."

She shakes her head, "Nothing like this day and age. Cameras, phones, newspapers. You can't hunt down a group of people without being found out anymore. It's just not fair..."

"Did I ever tell you that once Prince, you know that nice young singer, visited me at the royal gardens. He pricked his finger after I offered him a cutting in exchange for a private performance. He tasted quite good." Yola winks at her friend while meandering further into the forest.

Yola will take a look around here for anything of interest to her and for the mushrooms or whatever. "Who was your favorite drink?"

@Thalanthalas,@Ysolde: Sherry and Yola come upon a Galerina dormioso, a spectral white mushroom that glows in the dark.

OOC:

This mushroom is on neither list and can be placed back in the earth to create a path that was previously removed. You may do a Bingo to pick this mushroom or continue to another card.

Mr Boggs holds up his camera. "Indeed I am!" He smiles. "I'm trying to snap a picture of the Silver Tree Owl. I almost had it, but ..." Not far behind, T.H.E.M.s rumble overtakes the regular forest sounds. Seth turns his head in the direction the noise if coming from. "... well... something spooked it. " He continues. "Friend of yours?"

"I was lucky to run into Parish" He chuckles "Literally!" For some reason, he doesn't appear at all bothered with the possibility of imminent danger. "Oooh, what's that over there?" Boggs lifts his camera to capture some movement in the bushes.

"Too many to really say but, I always did enjoy the ones who thought they were ever so evil. What do the youth call them these days?" She thinks a few moments then smiles as she says, "Ahh yes, posers. Every now and again something in this new day and age is actually half decent."

She looks at their mushroom and turns into a bat, the bat flaps around with it and then buries it before coming back to the chair and becoming Lady Sheridan again. "Didn’t really need that one, shall we continue our lovely stroll?"

@Thalanthalas,@Ysolde: Continuing deeper into the woods, Sherry and Yola come upon an iridescent flyer, worn and torn by the elements, which reads "The Everyone Hostel: We Have Room!" On the flyer is a picture of a young Yazeba...

OOC:

You don't need to do a Bingo and linger so you can keep moving on after picking up the flyer. You can choose to show it to Yazeba later or not.

I've marked the map in different colors to show everybody's location. Blue is Yazeba's group, Green is Parish's, and Red is Sherry and Yola.

T.H.E.M. peers over the ghostly canopy of the woods, trying to see this owl that the picture taker was looking for. But none are in flight and owls hide too well, even for the eyes of a huge, enormous monster.

Instead, they catch a whiff of another mushroom to the south. The way is blocked by a particularly dense copse of thick-trunked trees but the monster is determined to find the source of the smell and smashes through them. The trees crack and snap as they plow through, heeding only to their nose.

@Redcroc: T.H.E.M.'s nose leads the huge monster to Calvatia bovista. This is a delicious white puffball mushroom that tastes great fried! It's on Parish's list!

The Huge Enormous Monster salivates at the sight of the round, white puff of mushroom. They can practically taste the creamy, marshmallow-y flavor on their tongue as they bend down to pick the fungus with surprising delicacy. Then, in a bellow of delight, they hand it to Parish and grab him in two large paws, enveloping the chef in a hug that feels like lying in a sunny meadow filled with soft cool grasses.

She keeps the flyer, "Oh look dear. This is fascinating, it seems that the bed and breakfast once went by a different name. Look here too Yazeba is practically young. It must have been back when we were young as well."

She smiles at the thought of those days. "I remember meeting you back then, barely a bush. Such pretty roses and deadly thorns."

"The others are delving deeper into the woods. Come, Gertrude. Let us stay along the edges to hunt where they have yet to tread," Yazeba says, heading to the west.

After a bit, she stoops down and sweeps some of the dirt and moss aside to reveal a mushroom that looks like a harmless puffball. But the witch's eyes light up as she exclaims, "Fruitful fungus! Look closely. Most would assume that this is an ordinary puffball, but that is far from the case. This is, in fact, an incredibly toxic stalk mushroom. Aminata bisporigea, the Destroying Angel. And it's exactly what I was looking for."

Yazeba carefully collects the mushroom and stores in in her pack.

Gertrude follows Yazeba around, trying not to mess up anything while also definitely not look like a little girl lost in the forest. If she was to become a real witch, she should start ... faking it like one...

"Aaa yes, yes, Ami nata bisporrr. We need this? Did you say incredibly toxic?" A multitude of scenarios where Yazeba would need something incredibly toxic run through her uneasy mind. Most of them ended with someone dead. A mystery for Heartswords's princess to solve!

Mr Boggs is torn between staying with Yazeba and following T.H.E.M. until he notices Parish being dragged along by the monster. Tossing aside all notions of potential danger, he rushes that way to go and help his friend. "Unhand him, you big lumbus!" He shouts, not sure if T.H.E.M. can ever hear him.

When T.H.E.M. abruptly stops to pick up a mushroom, Seth is too late to notice. He crashes into the heel of the monster with a 'thump' and falls down, knocked out cold.

Yes, that's fine! We'll go with you while we wait for Yola and Sherry.

When Boggs comes to a short while later, he finds himself in a different section of the forest. He rolls over and sees a large mushroom nearby: Laetiporus sp. Also known as Chicken-of-the-Woods, the bright yellow soft-flesh shelf mushroom supposedly tastes just like chicken. He remembers that Parish's list calls for three of these mushrooms.

OOC:

@TheGenerator may do a Bingo to collect the mushroom. Boggs' location is purple on the map until he rejoins another group.

Boggs wakes up seconds after falling down. His head is swimming and vision blurry. Looking to his left he spots a beautiful rose. It would be perfect for his composition with the owl. Blinking a few times, he picks up the rose and gives it a smell.

As his vision refocuses, helped by his sense of smell, he realizes it's not a rose at all but a mushroom! He seems to remember this one being on Parish' list. "Hmm.. Suppose I'll take this with me." He says to nobody. With the shroom in his pocket he tries to find Parish again.

"Back when we were young! We're still young, just look at us full of life and unlife. Or maybe just full of spunk.

In an attempt to show off her youth Yola will "somersault" through the grass. Aka lay down and just roll gently down a slight incline before standing up a few feet away from where she started.

"Tada! Whelp, I'm winded."

Yola has rolled herself next to another mushroom. This one is an Omphalotus illudens. It looks like a Golden Chanterelle, but upon closer inspection, Yola determines it to be instead the poisonous Jack-o'-Lantern mushroom, named after its orange coloration. It is toxic and unpleasant.

OOC:

This mushroom is not on either list, so @Thalanthalas,@Ysolde may continue on to another card.
