"I think...we could use those stones to reach the tower. The spirit is stopped by them. Or you could try to challenge it whether we are able to cross above the hill it creates fast enough to pass to the tower..., she suggests, inspecting the stone to see if they can be removed and carried or if she could replicate the effect.

The stones are each about the size of a persons head. As such they are heavy but not immovable. The stones are connected to each other and the tower by some sort of enchantment but Aurora would need to study it (roll spell touched) to try and discern what the effect of the spell and/or moving the stone might be.

She inspects one of the stones more closely, looking for inscriptions and at the magic related to it.

By spending an extra action you can increase you chance of passing your next test. Tests succeeded on a 4, 5, or 6
OOC:
Technically TinyD6 only allows focus in combat but I allow it to be used at any time when you can slow dwon and spend time to ensure success. Basically in most relaxed situations anything with a 4 or higher will be a success. This just allows thing to be less frustrating and keep moving. As you ponder the situation you realize that so far all the magic has not been lethal, or even harmful. But again all you have done is some trespassing, so far.

Ok so how does summoning a spirit work as opposed to just speaking with one? Ive read the shaman abilities and what i got out of it is that i can roll 3d6 to do so but with a greater risk of failureLast edited November 24, 2025 3:20 pm

Test to call, either asking or forcing, a spirit to perform a single act for you. If asking make a standard Test. If forcing Test with advantage but suffer a Backlash if a 1 is rolled on any die. A Test can be successful and trigger a Backlash simultaneously.
OOC:
Summoning is a standard action and roll (2d6), just say "I summon a spirit to XXX" where XXX is a specific task/functionI added the option of rolling with advantage (3d6) but with the chance of a penalty. In a situation like this where there is no need to risk backlash, as failure would just result in you trying again, I would suggest just asking a spirit to come and aid you. You can ignore the option for the most part.

"Reaching the tower...if the spirit does no like to work with us...maybe I can find a way...", she says looking at the stones again. Focusing her mind on the task of carefully silencing the alarm of a stone being moved, hoping that carrying the stone would shield them from the spirits attempt to push them back again.

Orrid calls to the spirits but is soon finds that none are helpful at all, to the point they do not even present themselves directly. Concerned there is something preventing the spirits from answering the call Orrid soon realizes it is that none of the spirits can meet her need and give advice on what to do. All that is learned is that spirits avoid this place as the wizard does not like visitors or trespassers. They do not fear him but do know not to enter his glade of they will suffer. However, Orrid is confident the spirits are there to help should a different need be presented but do not want to linger near the tower unless they feel they can be of help.Aurora examine the stones and discovers that silencing the alarm or changing one to trigger early and prevent the elemental from getting to near, but not both, should be possible.
OOC:
When there is no reason more time or repeated attempts cant be spend to gain a desired result then even if you roll bad it just indicates that the actions are less effective, as above, and not a total failure. I typically only take the first roll, but if you feel a second attempt might succeed then you can reroll as Orrid did, with disadvantage. However any successful 2nd attempt after a failed 1st will not be a complete success or without drawbacks. Nov 25, 2025 3:42 pm
Orrid looks at Ursa and speaksSpirits are weary of this place i believe they are avoiding the wizards tower He pauses and reflects on his options I think if we work together we can manipulate the stone's in order to get past the elemental that pushed us back Orrid Looks at the tower and reflects. He then continues to scan the stone's surrounding the perimeter trying to plot a way to get to the tower without being pushed back

Orrid expands the scope of their examination and notices that the stones follow a pattern with some of them being a bit larger or smaller. The two stones by the path are the largest and have additional marking on them while spread around the glade the smallest, which would still require 2 hands to lift and carry, are small and spread out with larger stones between them.
The elemental by this point has settled back down to where you can barely notice it and though it still loiters near you it no longer tries to talk with Orrid since the druid shifted their focus to the area and stopped talking with it. The glade is quite large and you wonder if it would be possible to just bypass the elemental by drawing it to the far side of the glace form you then racing to the tower. It did not move with extreme speeds while it was pushing you, so perhaps that might work?

After pondering a bit Orrid speaks to Ursa I believe these stones act as some sort of barrier or marker for the elemental that pushed us back. If we can figure out a way to lure it in the opposite direction or create a distraction I think it would buy us time to make a run for the tower Orrid points at the stone's Maybe if we tried moving these stones around we can create a distraction but I am a little hesitant to touch them Orrid Looks towards the tower then back at Ursa and continues What do you think Ursa?
Nov 26, 2025 8:00 pm
"I think it could work, though I would like to try something first. It seems like there is an alarm that would go off, if we just move one of these stones. Let me try to neutralize that alarm first", she replies, trying to manipulate the magic a moment later.

"I managed to silence the alarm on this one. Who ever placed this magic is way more capable than I. We can now carry that stone and it should redirect the spirit back to the tower, until we are there", she says a few moments later.
*The ursine woman hooks her polearm weapon on a belt at her back to have her hands free. Next she reaches for the stone and carefully picks it up with both hands.*
"Well, let's see if this actually works", she says looking at Orrid and slowly stepping towards the tower again.

You get about half way to the tower again before you notice the elemental react to your approach. It moves closer but stops just as the small hill gets under Aurora's feet. Pressing on by simply walking "up hill" the rest of the way you soon make it to the tower. Once you reach to tower the elemental seems to loose interest in you and slowly begins to wander off and subside into the soil once more.
Looking the tower up and down you see it is built of stone and at least 3 stories tall, based on windows you see. However you note that either the first floor is taller or it and the second both do not have any windows as the only opening you see near the base of the tower is the single large door. The heavy wooden door, reinforced with bands of iron, is closed but has a simple looking handle. The wood looks ancient but sturdy, and a faint glow of magic is emitted by the door frame. A carved sigil of a crescent moon, the wizard’s personal mark, is faintly visible above the door.
