It seems we have no choice Ursa. We must continue for the sake of our people!

The strange glade around the tower is barren of features or itemsthat would hemp sustain life long term, unless you liked to gaze. Then you notice the return of tht earlier sounds. The whisper of coding moving thrift the grass, or perhaps the wind blowing the grass. Only there is no wind. As you look for the source of the sound you see a patch of grass moving. Or something that looks like grass, but it is just a bit tablet than the rest, moving through the grass. As you watch it seems to be circling tht pair of you, and getting bigger...

"I think...we should prepare for a possible attack...", she says cautiously, while taking up a protective stance, watching the approaching thing.

OOC:
In groups there are a cutout of ways to move things along
1. Group consensus : show but everyone is involved
2. Majority : bit faster for a Minor loss of involvement
3. Motion, seconded : quicker but only minor group involvement
4. First come, first served: very fast, chaotic
5. Group leader by activity : fast but minor group input

With only 2 of you I tend to use a combination 1 and 4. Just let me know if there is an issue
As you turn to face the . . . Hidden foe? It continues gaining size m both height and width. Soon a hill sends to be somehow moving around you, and drawing nearer

Agreed! Orrid says as he pulls out his wooden club and grips it tightly

The mound continues to grow in size as it draws near. Now well over 10 feet tall and 30 wide, it's edges move up to where you stand. Still the only sound is the rushing of grass. Then with a surge it rushes you and you find yourselves being lifted as the hill swells under your feet as it narrows and the incline facing you become very steep, causing you to stumble and step back to keep you footing. This continues and you realize you are being herded away from the tower.

"This...thing...wants us to go away from the tower. It seems like a...wave? Just...not water? This is...clearly not natural. Should we try to run towards it?", she asks Orrid, clearly unsure how to proceed and not willing to retreat.
OOC:
I would like to try "part the wave" with Spelltouched, if that were possible? Kinda like Moses parted the sea... XD

[ +- ] Spell Touched
OOC:
You can attempt it t. Moving the grass is not a problem but moving a mound of dirt that large is beyond spell touched capabilities with a single use. However you can try and sense the cause of the wave as Spell-touched lets you sense magic (determine information about spells) and Shaman lets you sense spirits (feel and talk with them, including summoned elementals). The way I think of it is that while the abilities have limits they can still do impressive things if arranged to maximize their effect. Like use a lever to start a boulder rolling vs trying to push it directly. Also you can try working with each other to combine your traits effects.

Other mundane options are also open to attempts, climb the hill, out run it, etc

Can you try another color? I use light or dark mode depending on environment and cyan is hard to read on white, Thanks

Where is this coming from?! Orrid says as he prepares to use his Shaman abilities to call a spirit and ask about the source

"I think...it may come from the tower? Maybe it is a spell or something that protects the tower? I am not sure...just wild guessing here...", she says, trying to sense the flow of the magical energies.
OOC:
I hope that color is easier to read?

Test to try and part the earth wave - (2d6)

Orrid stretches out their senses to call a spirit, only to immediately come into direct contact with an Earth Child soul. These spirits are young and weak, by spirit standards. Though this one is moving more earth than usual Orrid can tell it is simple and currently doing something it feels compelled to do but find extremely tedious and boring. It seems incredibly interested only on seeing just how much earth it can control and how sharp an incline it can form without harming the grass.

Aurora opened her mage sense only to be flooded with a tangle of spells around and over the tower. Focusing her arcane sense she is able to find a small tether anchor to the tower and something under the grassy hill you are now continuously sliding down and it pushes you towards the edge of the clearing.

OOC:
colors are both better, thanks

Orrid can personally sense and communicate with spirits nearby though actually summoning one for a specific task will greatly enhance either ability.

"There is a lot of magic here. Many spells placed around and all over the tower. I can't do much about that amount of magic. And one I can push against, but I am not strong enough to quickly break that spell...can I assist you in any way?", she says in a strained voice, trying to stop the flow or break it, so they cann pass through a path between the waves.
Nov 20, 2025 1:34 pm
OOC:
Aurora may not be able to directly counter the effects of the elemental moving the earth but with the successful sensing of the spell (previous roll) it is within your spell touched ability to try and affect the magic of the spell itself, with another roll. However the results would be less controlled, like putting a wedge on a railroad track to derail a train. Not strong enough to stop the train directly but just enough to break it nonetheless.

OOC:
Sorry for such a late response. Im having a hard time weighing my options here. If I attempt to speak with the spirit do i need to make another roll, or can i just speak with it since I've already contacted it?
Nov 21, 2025 1:44 am
OOC:
short answer : you can just talk to it
Long answer : shaman can usually talk to any spirit they are aware of. Some may be harder but this is the exception and not the rule. Getting then to listen to you and do as you ask is another matter. Think of this one as some one else's pet that you are trying to call over. You would need to roll to try and get it to disobey or change hour or pineys it's orders. But just communicating isn't an issue at this time
Nov 21, 2025 4:35 pm
Hold on Ursa! There's a spirit nearby im trying to communicate with Orrid says to Ursa while trying not to fall fron the ground shifting. Then Orrid attempts to communicate with the Earth spirit
Are you trying to kill us? Do you work for The Wizard?

Earth Child
The movement slows down and Orrid senses a bit of surprise and elation before the simple thought return Push outsiders away. Bye bye outsider. You stay to talk after you past border? and the hill begins to wiggle and shift as it continues to push you away form the tower, though much slower.
Nov 21, 2025 8:41 pm
Aurora nods, waiting for Orrid to give her some sign to act.
Nov 22, 2025 1:28 am
Its an Earth spirit i believe he works for the wizard Orrid says to Ursa Hes going to push us away from the tower before we can speak to him so just hang tight and dont fall!
Orrid then Kneels down to keep from falling from the hill as he rides it out. He looks at Ursa implying to do the same. He then answers the spirits question
Yes we will talk when we have reached the border
