After being projected leftwards by the impact, landing and rolling painfully on the ground, Borgo steps back, sheathing his sword, and preparing his bow.
OOC:
Borgo wants to be out of line of sight of any sniper to the right, and wants to avoid melee contact. If he can shoot this round, he’ll do it from the safety of the second or third step down the stairs (I’ll add rolls to the post just in case….).

Rolls

Short bow attack, damage - (1d20+3, 1d4)

1d20+3 : (18) + 3 = 21

1d4 : (1) = 1

Borgo spins as a bolt flies out of the darkness grazing his scalp. With on hand clamped to the wounds, Borgo retreated backwards does the stairs a space as the skeletons begin to rise.

Sheathing his short sword, the Goblin readied his bow and quickly fires a shaft which glanced off the skeleton’s vertebra.

Almost before the shaft is loosed, Thak had dropped his torch and charged headlong at the first necromantic construct. The heavy blow shears off an arm at the shoulder.

The skeleton takes 6hp damage from the two attacks.

Lattremond
Lattremond, having rushed up the stair follows behind Thak and past Borgo. He halts at the top of the stair, but he old cleric isn't daunted by the sight of the skeletal foes. Grounding the tip of his longsword, he holds out his holy symbol and call out in a strong voice, "I abjure thee! Leave the remants of the living and return whence you came. I abjure thee!"

Perhaps it is the darkness wearing on his physche, or the burning hatred in the piercing eyes of the undead or something of the magics that brought them to life, but Lattremond's abjuration seems to be damped and swallowed by this place. He drops his holysymbol and with a curse brings up his sword in defense.

That sucked. Lattremond totally borked his Turn Undead. No skeleton was affected.

Berith is up, with Elspaeth after.

FYI, I'm presuming Thak set the torch down near the top of the stairs. Not sure what might happen if it's left there. Mwah! Ha! Ha!

Hearing Borgo swearing and then the sounds of battle, Berith rushes up the stairs and straight into attack. Attacking the closest skeleton, she swings her sword two handed. After the attack, she moves back and grabs the torch. Crouching to get into cover of the stairs as much as she can she leaves room for Elspaeth to maneuver and attack.

Berith charges up just behind Lattremond but comes up on Thak’s left with a heavy slash of her great sword scattering shattered bone across the floor. Starting back to Pick up the torch, she finds herself at the lip of the stairs to Lattremond’s left.

From the upper stairwell where near Borgo, Elspaeth takes a couple of steps up to lose a bolt at the skeleton across the room. The quarrel flies true and knock the thing to the side but it lumbers on with a hobbling gait from a cracked pelvis.

The parties combined stacks have destroyed the closest foe, and Elspaeth’s quarrel has badly damaged the one across the room. Note the creatures close and attack the party.

Thak stands near the remains of the near skeleton, with Lattremond and Berith just behind. The two archers are just a bit below on the stairs.

Skellies

The remaining three skeletons close in on the party swinging wildly at those closest to them with a sickly red glow burning from third sockets.

The skeleton across the room hobbles directly toward Thak, but the warrior easily parries its clumsy attack.

Perhaps sensing the source of the divine energies that were directed at them, the two skeletons on the right side of the room assail Lattremond. Unsigned by his earlier failure, the Priest deftly deflects and blocks the skeletons’ assaults.

Okay! Lucky rolls for you guys!! It’s now the top of the order! Thank odd engaged by a damaged limping skeleton while Lman is beating back the blows of two of the creatures.

Borg and Thak don’t notice any further middle attacks aimed at the party, and no other creatures than the four piles of bones you saw at first have entered the light.

Everyone is within near of everyone and some are obviously at close.

What do you do!?

Borgo clenches his pointy goblin teeth as he takes aim and attempts to dispatch the skeleton attacking Thak, so the warrior can then move to support Lattremond.

"Lattremond!" Thak bellows as he strikes at the skeleton before him.

Seeing his friend attempt and fail to turn the undead minions upset Thak so much so that he fails his attack.

Borgo’s arrow strikes the skeleton attacking Thak a glancing blow and is deflected off into the darkness by the things skull.

Thak cries out in anger and exertion with the force of his heavy two handed blow but the skeleton easily sidesteps before moving back in for the attack.

Lattremond’s defence has so far been impenetrable, and seeing an opportunity he strikes at one of his foes. The licking blade would have evicted a man but only sends a rib bone flying.

He flinches as a bolt smacks into the skull of the skeleton sending out lurching to the side. It recovers quickly, returning with arms raised menacingly and Elspaeth’s bolt lodged tight.

The skeletons press this attack.

Thak catches the blow on his chest, trusting in its strength.

Lattremond’s defence seems strong but he overcommits and leaves himself briefly open, but manages to recover. Catching most of the force of the second skeleton’s attack.

Lman takes a point of damage. Port lucky so far!

Round three! The party are toe to toe with tier three formen. Who will fall first!?

Sighing as Berith knows that the light will be a beacon if there is someone hiding in the shadows, she steps forward again. Heading towards the closest skeleton, she strikes.
OOC:
If possible I'd like to move slightly away from the others so that we're not all bunched together, but more like in a half circle so I'm not completely separated from the group

Lattremond could see the wide blade of Thak's blade swinging towards the skeleton from the side, and timed his own blow to land just after but he hadn't counted on Thak's ferocity as the mighty blow carries the skeleton out of the path of his own blade.

Berith moves around and past Thak and strikes at the injured skeleton attacking Lattremond and now Thak. With her back now facing the inky blackness of the room she skillfully lops the skull from it's neck, dropping the skelelton in place.

Unfortunately, Elspaeth's bolt sails off into the darkness as is passes through where the skeleton had been.

[color="coral"]Okay, down to one opponent. Thak and Berith have taken down the third skeleton but the final undead does not seem to notice that it is now alone.
