"I have it with me today," T'rissae says, resheathing her half-naked sword,
"but we need to consider its use carefully."
She had elected to join the melee fighters up front, both to ensure their safety and to test out her new weapon. And, belatedly she realized, to further sell the illusion that she, a 'priestess of Llolth,' didn't have reliable access to spellcraft. An illusion that both she and Silver would need to maintain. Giving both Silver and Ryo'fein, both divine casters themselves, a knowing glance, she delicately and subtly rubbed a fake icon of Llolth as if to say, 'it's time to play a part.'
"First let's see what we're working with." Going to the prisoners once it was considered safe, she began assessing them, determining not just the nature of whatever shackles the illithid had placed around their minds but also how aware they were of their surroundings within that state. It was vitally important to know whether or not these captives could see, hear, understand, and remember. If they could, then she and her companions would have to be very careful with what they said in the next few minutes. One slip up and word would inevitably get back to the Baenre's...or they would have to perform a grisly and cold-blooded murder of their fellow drow.
These souls may be deserving of Ellistraee's compassion, but that was not the same thing as trust.
