OOC:
Without flanking that is a miss from Callum.
Callum feels the disorientation interfere with his attack and his weapon strikes only air.

The creatures attack back with their limbs and two crystal tentacles. The back one attacks Selquet, the front attacks Tabat.
OOC:
Looks like only Tabat was struck. DC17 or take 6 CHA damage, please.
[ +- ] If you're struck with the tentacles, DC17 Will save...
You're all up in whatever you post.

Selqet steps forward to try to flank the creature to attack.

OOC:
5 ft step to flank with Tabat; attack CR 1, will use a Panache point to opportune parry & riposte if I am attacked

Tabat attempts to shrug off the crushing weight of the energy effecting him even as the tentacles lash out at him as well.

He attempts to fight back, swinging his heavy flail at the creature before him.

Iseret rolled the lesser, a 14, add 11 to the attack roll, subtract 4, is 21 which hits! 18 more damage.

Kyra's attacks miss.

Selquet, moving to flank slaughters the beast. (24 more damage takes it to -3.)

Tabat steps forward to attack the second and misses due to the befuddlement.
OOC:
Callum is up!

Cr1 is dead, cr2 remains.
[ +- ] Background image
Iseret, Callum, and Tabat are Overwhelmed: (staggered, and disadvantage on attack rolls, saving throws, and skill checks).

cr1: dead
cr2: undamaged

Feeling like he's had too much Andoran wine, Callum takes a moment to center himself. His sword hand still enveloped in bluish electricity, he raises his other hand toward the creature, utters a few arcane words, and two bolts of fire spring forth.
OOC:
Swift action to spend an arcane point for arcane accuracy, +5 bonus to hit; 7/9 points left
OOC:
Scorching Ray - ranged touch attack; save: no; spell resistance: yes
OOC:
lol, yeesh

OOC:
Add a spell penetration roll please, the creature does have Spell Resistance. I'm not certain if you make one for each ray or once for the work, so roll twice, one for each ray that hit. I'll look up the rule later.
OOC:
Edit: correction, only one check is made for the casting of the spell, so either all rays could get through, or none.

Second edit: okay I'll type that roll for you

Success! Touch AC 15, SR 23. You rolled four to hit rolls for two rays, so my house rule is to take the first dice dropped. That's one hit and one miss. It does 4d6 damage. I rolled that too for you.
One of two Scorching Rays hit the remaining creature, but it appears to be largely resistant to the fire. (It takes 4 damage.)

It attacks Selquet with its hands and tentacles... but misses work all of them.

You're all up again in whatever order you post

The creature is pounded by Tabat's heavy blow, shifting it into an utterly lethal killing strike by Selquet.

Combat is over. The staggered condition passes from those so inflicted.

The two alien creatures lie in death in the room.
Feb 9, 2026 12:25 am
Tabat relaxes his muscles as the immediate danger is ended. "What manner of creatures were those?" His eyes look about the room, wondering if they were here to guard something, or simply stand as a trap.
OOC:
Is the Overwhelmed status long-lasting or does it begin to fade after the fight?

Rolls

Tabat Menes: Perception (Wis) - (1d20+5)

(16) + 5 = 21

Feb 9, 2026 1:40 am
"I do not know. . . I have never faced their like before. Strange things lurk in these hidden places." Selqet likewise inspects the room.
OOC:

Confirmed crit in that battle puts me back to full Panache.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+11)

(11) + 11 = 22

Feb 9, 2026 3:43 am
OOC:
The curse is entirely lifted at the end of battle.
