Having hastily adjusted one of the robes to suit his length, Nikk follows his companions into the great hall, keeping himself to the back and out of focus. He waits to see whether their plan is successful before making a move of any kind.

Lillit follows behind those carrying the mugs of poisoned ale in her red robe. She slides along the southern wall, next to the table near the door. She identifies the villagers in the room and waits to move.

If things go poorly, she can try to create an illusion with her Shadowdance spell that may give them cover or a distraction to escape, preferably with the villagers!

Orm stays behind and gives Llewellyn a sip of the healing potion. He smiles as it takes effect, "Shall we?", and heads into the great hall.

Dressed in a brown robe, he stays close to his red robed companions, and in a submissive manner hands out drinks as they're poured.
OOC:
I did a blood lust check when peeking in, right before this. Is another one required for walking in?
OOC:
Healing points sips, 5/6 left

Hobb turns invisible, and swallows down his blood lust. He hadn’t time to return to the entrance, not while things were about to reach their peak.

He slips in, and waits for the moment to strike.
OOC:
1hp left! Ouch!!

I come to next to Orm, another brown robe, just in time to see my companions head to the great hall. I shrug off the odd blood leeching curse of the subterranean hideout and proceed to follow them to the great hall, now that I've been revivified, remembering a plan to serve drinks.

They must be doing so! I conclude, hastily, and rush to my companions, namely the robed ones' sides. I settle in as they enter and prepare to drink, if necessary, amongst them in a toast, but defer to the red robes; hoping we get several asleep, and perhaps we can find some orders amongst the robed ones here...some reasoning for the capture in the first place, a sense to the evil at hand.

OOC:
@ctme2000 No, we can count your blood lust roll from your last turn as this one.

@PlebeianG You are still infected with the blood lust. So, I will need a blood lust roll for your last turn.
Ivar feels the rage and lust that have been boiling within his veins since he entered this cave subside. His whole body relaxes, and he no longer feels the push to be aggressive all the time.
OOC:
@mathias0077 Your blood lust is gone. You no longer need to do the blood lust roll on your turn.
OOC:
Let's say that the three red robes get the poisoned mugs and then one brown on the east side of the room, and the brown next to the RED gets a mug.
The cultists lift their mugs and follow Ivar's lead—they down the draught in several long gulps. Jovial conversation returns to the hall, but before long, one of the brown robed cultists slumps forward onto the table. Then one of the reds falls to the floor. Then the RED cultist falls back in his chair. "What is happening?" The final red-robed cultist slurs her words as she falls against the villager next to her.

The rest of the cultists look around in surprise and horror as their companions fall asleep around them. "Hey?! Who are you?" A brown cultist near the door stands and points to Wayfinders.
OOC:
All of the cultists that you roofied are asleep for 3 hours.
OOC:
Combat
Heroes get a surprise round, make it count. There are four Cult Neophytes (brown robes) awake. Their AC is 10. If your name is in bold, act now. I will then sort everything out later.
Orm
Ivar
Llewellyn
Hobb
Nikk

As she stands in the corner, largely hidden in her red robe, Lillit weaves her shadow magic. Suddenly a six foot tall bloody skull appears above them all in the great hall and a booming voice emanates from it, saying, "Remember the second Tenet of your Faith: Obey the Red and Black Robes!"

The skull fades and Lillit steps forward in her red robe and raises her voice, saying, "Brown Robes! All of you, go to the Kitchen and await further orders. Go now!"

She points toward the door to the kitchen and stands aside, waiting for them to obey.

In the sudden confusion, as red robed cultists fall to the floor and a giant skull appears bellowing orders, Nikkghak slips by Ivar and utters a short blessing. However, the bloodlust dims his thoughts and makes it difficult to invoke his holy magic.
OOC:
Man, lost my access to my Holy Weapon spell.

Orm holds back to see if Lillit's ruse works, clever girl

OOC:
Since the brown robes that are not asleep started asking questions, I am going to say that you can't backstab them. But if you wanted to backstab one of the sleeping cultists, that would work. I will wait to post the results until you make your move.
Sep 26, 2025 10:23 pm
Ivar will just move toward the door and see what plays out with the illusion.
OOC:
This is exciting

The potion providing little relief from the blood curse, I groan, and hearing Lillit's ruse, I try to act according to order, though I'm not sure how much credibility there is with a bunch of slumbering red robes. I start to shuffle towards the kitchen, happy to aid another brown robe into the kitchen with me, and if they refuse, I'm keen to use my swordpoint, to help make my point clear, to move things along.

Still invisible, Hobb can feel the blood lust bubbling up inside of him. He can’t shake the feeling that it would kill him if he tried to reject it.

Creeping forward, he does the least he can to satisfy his urge, and pounds a hobbit fist into the ribs of one of the sleeping robed figures.

The four remaining brown-robed cultists stare for a moment after the bloody skull fades. They blink. Lillit issues her command. They look at each other, one shrugs his shoulders, they stand and together, single file, walk out of the room and into the kitchen.

The door swings shut, and one of the red-robed cultists grunts as Hobb punches him in the neck.
OOC:
@KCC Yeah, 1 hp of damage sounds right for an unarmed strike. Gotta keep that blood lust down.
The villagers look around in amazement.

Ivar will listen at the door he is standing to see if hears anything then move off to start tying up red robes unless we just want to dispatch them so we don't have to worry about them later."How long do you think they will stay in there?"Looking at the villagers"we are here to rescue you. Do you know where the rest are?"
Sep 29, 2025 4:17 am
Lillit nods in agreement with Ivar and adds, "Tell us what you know and then you can head out. We've saved several others already who you can catch up with on their trip back home."

She examines the unconscious red robed individuals, checking them for possessions. If they have a blood pouch, Lillit puts her hand in it and places her bloody hand mark on the skulls at the eastern end of the hall.
Sep 29, 2025 2:42 pm
"I'm needed elsewhere..." I grunt, leaving the rest of the brown robes behind, I rejoin my Wayfarers, and help free the captives.

"There is that other room we scouted with cages and tables where more captives are held, we'll have to go there, next, but what do we do with these people? Leave them be?" I ask.

I look at Lillit performing her own performance of the blood rite at the skull altar, and grimace.

"You do well at portraying a cultist in disguise," I remark uneasily, set on avoiding the act myself.

Where did that blood come from? Some of Hillshire's very villagers we are trying to save? I couldn't use their blood to mark the cursed altar.
Sep 29, 2025 3:28 pm
Lillit turns to Llewellyn and smiles. She says, "This might not be my first time encountering such a group." She licks a bit of the blood off of her finger and turns away.
Sep 29, 2025 5:01 pm
Hobb shimmers back into view; his knuckles red from whacking them on the man’s neck. Bleeding slightly, he crosses to the statue, and drags the back of his hand across the skull.

"It ain’t much, but do you suppose it’ll satiate the damned blood lust?" he asks Lillit.
