Time to start strong. The thing was there. Solid, tangible. If it could bleed, they could kill it.

So first they had to draw blood.

Turning, Bonham pulls a fire extinguisher off the wall and Hollows it out, reducing its weight to only a pound. They then throw it overhand at Lycaon, just like hurling a grenade.

"Lycaon! Fling it!"
OOC:
That's one more Psyche Burst. The moment Lycaon Flings the fire extinguisher, Bonham will cancel the ability, allowing it to hit at full force and so give him +1d to the Psyche roll. Unless you want to save Lycaon's burst for now, then I'll think of another plan.

Salem ducks under the passing fire extinguisher and lunges toward the Crusher, smoothly drawing his axe from his Pocket. His forward movement slows just enough to give the extinguisher time to make contact with the sickening thing.
Aug 29, 2025 2:57 pm
OOC:
No roll from Bonham on the setup cause hollow succeeds automatically if you're just using it for the +1D, but I'll need a force roll from Salem. Risky, not hard.
Aug 29, 2025 4:08 pm
Salem finishes his approach. He drives the axe down, angling for a strike that would cut the Crusher from shoulder to hip.

Force roll to *kill that thing* with an axe. - (2d6)

"You are like Orion. A small thing made large. An outcast. A piece of flotsam floating on the wind. Orion is twisted and ugly and he likes to eat humans a bit too much for anyone's liking. But I still love him, and he loves me. I am sorry you do not have anyone to love you." Erasmus said unexpectedly, eyes filled with something that eerily resembled sympathy.

By his side, Orion was nowhere to be seen.
OOC:
I'd like to roll a Surveillance, to have Orion prime himself for an ambush upon the Crusher
Aug 29, 2025 10:23 pm
OOC:
Erasmus, that'd be Negotiation or Connection, depending on whether Erasmus is lying or actually genuine, if you're trying to convince the creature to pay attention to you. Otherwise, just Covert for Orion.

EXECUTION

YOU'VE HURT IT, SURE, BUT IT'S GOT YOU PINNED DOWN. THOSE HANDS ARE LONGER THAN THEY LOOK, AREN'T THEY, FIREMAN?
ESCAPE

HERE. FILL THIS UP, AND YOU'LL BE OUT OF ITS GRASP. BUT FOR NOW, GOOD LUCK GETTING ANYTHING DONE.
OOC:
Salem is grabbed by the CRUSHER, but is unharmed. It's going to be Hard to do pretty much anything besides try and free yourself.
Aug 29, 2025 10:47 pm
Lycaon sees Bonham's set up, and as the extinguisher passes overhead he'll hop up and swat it -- not unlike a volleyball player spiking a set ball -- to impart his own "encouragement."

Your intuition is correct. Unfortunately, you've discovered a nasty feature of the CRUSHER. All actions against it by the person it is targeting are Hard by default, and it deals +1 stress against them.

Lycaon takes 4 stress as the CRUSHER dodges his attack faster than a nightmare and digs its fingers into his ribcage.

Quote:
With a gesture, you remove recognizable properties of CAT+1 tools, vehicles, windows, doors, or any other objects that can be held or worn. The chosen objects can no longer be used for their intended purpose and no human, sin, or exorcist (including you!) can recognize them - staring at them for too long causes extreme discomfort, even for exorcists. Gain or grant +1D when you or any ally next acts to take advantage of this power. It may also affect the parameters of rolls while active.
"Nasty bastard." Bonham grunts, spitting out the comment as a means of maintaining their composure. "Look away from its face." That's addressed at the others. Picking up the chair by the desk, they slam it down on the Crusher's shoulders, enough to firmly set it in place but perhaps not enough to crack it. In a second, it becomes a blurred, shifting mass, unfit for sitting on or indeed for holding anything up or even looking at.
OOC:
I'm just gonna assume that the chair was of the type that has a support bar between the legs so that it can stay on someone's shoulders/head if placed sideways. That's my third psyche burst for now, going to have to dip into Sin to keep this up. Hope this improvised flashbang helps enough.
Aug 29, 2025 11:30 pm
OOC:
Bonham, gimme Coordination to slap the chair on this sucker.
Aug 29, 2025 11:32 pm
OOC:
Hilariously, Erasmus has no dots in either Connection or Negotiation LMAO. I'll have him spend a psyche burst just so he can roll a dice, because I feel like it's a rare moment of empathy for him, and Orion can hoof it with two Covert like usual.
OOC:
Yes! Both paid off big

Resolving first, Erasmus' action. The success will make sure that ORION's action isn't risky, but will turn the thing's gaze on Erasmus.

OOC:
The CRUSHER is going to connect psychically with Erasmus, feeding him some of the trauma that birthed it. Lycaon, you feel your own shame and guilt begin to be leached out of your head, and are compelled to CONFESS. You must either take 1 nonlethal stress and answer aloud one of the questions I asked you at the beginning of the mission, or you can refuse and take 1d6 lethal stress.
Sep 1, 2025 8:44 pm
OOC:
Before I can resolve any of next round's actions (salem's and bonham's) I gotta see if Lycaon is answering or not.
