My spell is about the expire. I havent detected any enchantments down here, other that what you guys are carrying.
A moment later, the flaming halo that have been surrounding her head, fades and its only the small flames in her hair that remains. This display suggests that, either that she has bought into the fay glamour that was cast on her, or that it goes so much deeper than just a fey-little prank.

As the group is discussing this and considering whether to search, Ayra gives a yelp as a previously-unseen assailant silently drops from the ceiling on top of her. The yelp is cut off as the creature squeezes her until her bones crack. It is another snake - this one a giant python - which has wrapped its coils around Mother Arkon!
Arya takes 12 damage and is down and dying!
Feeling protective of its meal, the python strikes out defensively at Theran.

"I'm starting to think this was just a garbage bin for the Golden Grain," Aanbo says, frustrated at the circle they've taken, not finding a route to a larger clue about the conspiracy in Orlane. But then another giant snake - this one a python - drops its coils around Arya and she gasps as the coils constrict and crush her rib cage. Aanbo hears the crack of her bones and whirls, punching the python's head twice in quick succession.
The python takes 8 bludgeoning damage!
Arya's eyes are wide as she realizes the situation she's in: her ribs are broken and she cannot breathe. But she refuses to black out.
Arya regains consciousness with 1 HP!
Lyrel sees the python, and, knowing a little about snakes' affinity for heat, pulls heat out of the air. A blossom of ice forms on the wall next to the python, but not on the snake itself.
Morton holds his shaking hand steady with his other hand, drawing once more upon his infernal patron to direct another shockwave from hell at the snake.
The python takes 7 force damage!
The python instinctively tightens its coils, attempting to tenderize its meal (Arya) a bit more before swallowing, and strikes out at one of its assailants.
Arya takes 5 damage and is dying again!
The python irritably strikes at Theran again.
Theran takes 3 piercing damage!
Ember's rapier is out of the sheath before she has consciously registered the sound of Arya's ribs cracking. She looks, sees what's happening, whips her rapier around and sinks into the snake's coils.

The reptile's muscular body thrashes and writhes, flinging Arya's broken body to the ground, and then its coils relax. Myrtha struggles to hold the weight on the end of the spear, so she slides the limp corpse from the tip so that it falls in a heap on the hard-packed earth.

Lyrel steps back and keep watch - healing magic is something she never been able to command. She has been walking these halls and apprantly there are snakes that can drop down from the roof. That is not natural behavior.
