Hermann just barely makes it out of the way of the blast that surely would have claimed his life. He ducks, rolls and comes out the maneuver with his rapier pressing forward towards the dark magician.

"Die!" he cries, even as he feels his stamina leaving him. He feels ten years older in an instant. This was life or death!
OOC:
LOOK AT THAT DOG SHIT ROLL!

Salvia sees Crumble’s capacity to kill her comrades—or her! So she wants to end the fight soon. He somehow resisted her last casting of Disassemble, but she has one last casting of the brutal spell, so she gives it a shot.
OOC:
she has her grimoire on her, giving her one boon and she will use a charge of her mage implement, giving her a second boon. She also has combat precognition, which allows her to roll with a third boon. She will also use her second revelation, giving her an eight on the d20 to which she will add her intellect bonus, and the three boons

Winter grunts and staggers as the magic bolts slam into her, leaving her bruised and bloodied. Despite her injuries, she springs to a new location and fires on Crumble.
OOC:
Take the initiative and attack. 20 to hit, 16 damage. If Winter is attacked this round, she'll use her bonus reaction from First Strike to either dodge or withstand, whichever is appropriate.

Hermann does what he does best by causing a feint against Crumble that granted a perfect opening to his allies. Kade chops into his chest with a wet crunch, Winter sinks an arrow into his neck, and Salvia uses her eldritch powers to literally cause Crumble's body to tear itself into pieces which are thrown in different directions. The basement is now splattered with blood and gore. The wet slap of viscera impacting walls and and floor is stomach churning. Not to mention the smell of cooked meat as several pieces ended up in the fireplace and are now roasting.
Nov 5, 2025 3:14 pm
Winter grimaces and lowers her bow, wincing in pain. "Bastard. I could use some healing before we proceed," she says.
Nov 5, 2025 4:30 pm
Salvia turns to Winter and says, " That makes two of us! Healing is not my strong suit, but I can help a little." She gestures and mutters some arcane words, causing healing energy to suffuse Winter’s body, and then her own. Then she moves to the golden book and begins to examine it.
OOC:
Six points of healing for Winter.

Hermann holds up his icon and bathes the dreaded meat pile in holy, healing light!
OOC:
If someone is in need!

Holy Healing: You can use an action to enable yourself or one ally within 5 yards to heal 3d6 damage.
"Unpleasant, but that is the job." he says, stoppering his nose so he couldn’t smell the cooked flesh.

He flicks the few chunks off his own coat, and looks about the room.

"Might that be it. The final object is surely here."
Nov 6, 2025 10:16 am
Kade pants heavily before finally lowering his axe. He nods at Hermann's words and seeing as he is unhurt he starts looking around the room while his companions get back on their feet.
Nov 6, 2025 10:24 am
OOC:
I'll take the holy healing. Still have 12 damage after that and Salvia's spell.
Winter nods appreciatively as her companions' magic alleviates some of her injuries. "Thank you. I'm ready."

OOC:
Int roll with 3 banes to inspect the book.
Nov 6, 2025 2:55 pm
Salvia approaches the book carefully. As she stands before it, she casts Omniscience, a spell that would allow her to pierce illusions, magical protections, and so on, see invisible objects, and even see through walls and so on, if she chooses. She also calls on her Unearthly Grace and, if necessary, her ability to interpret omens as well.
OOC:
Omniscience spell is just in case there are magical protections or concealment. Unearthly Grace gives me a +5 to Intellect rolls. Wizard's Grimoire lets me roll INT with one Boon and Interpret Omen let's me add 3 to the roll too. So that's +8 and one Boon, with three banes.
[ +- ] Omniscience
[ +- ] Interpret Omen

Rolls

Intellect, with lotsa mods - (1d20+4+8+1d6-3d6)

(4) + (6) - (122) + 12 = 17

Nov 8, 2025 3:04 pm
Salvia detects no magical enchantments on the book. Reading through it, she becomes aware that whoever made this book either didn't know the formula to make a philosopher's stone, or else cleverly hid that knowledge. Anyone following the supposed formula would instead be transformed into a hideous blob-creature. Crumble seems to have been doomed no matter if he had succeeded or not.
Nov 8, 2025 6:03 pm
Salvia laughs ruefully and shares this fact with the others. She then gathers up the book and looks around the rest of the room, with her omniscient eyes revealing anything magical, illusory, etc. She can also see through a foot of solid matter, so she'd likely see any secret rooms or compartments as well.
Nov 9, 2025 1:44 am
Salvia finds a hidden alcove behind a painting in the wall. Inside is 100 gp in coins and gems. Also inside are two small oddities: a small emerald-colored velvet beret and the double-lobed eye of some creature encased in amber.

Rolls

Oddity 1 - (1d20, 1d6, 1d20)

1d20 : (5) = 5

1d6 : (2) = 2

1d20 : (17) = 17

Oddity 2 - (1d20, 1d6, 1d20)

1d20 : (20) = 20

1d6 : (6) = 6

1d20 : (18) = 18
