"Die, beast!" Hermann spits, as he steps into the space. While he hadn’t faced anything quite so menacing as this, this was par for the course for an Inquisitor.

And so he was duty bound to plunge his rapier into its heart.

He steps forward, holy symbol in one hand and rapier ready in the other, ready to smite the beast!

Winter aims true but the demon bats her arrow out of the air with a lazy swipe.

Kade doesn't need words to bring the pain. The greatsword cleaves through the demon's barbed flesh leaving a ragged gash of orange flesh gushing blue blood. The beast lets out a piercing cry that sounds like grinding nails.

Hermann lunges with a follow-up attack but the demon staggers back from Kade's blow and Hermann finds himself just a hair's breadth short of piercing the demon's hide.

Total damage: 25

I'll give everyone one day to use your reaction to go first in the initiative, or post saying you will save your reaction.

Winter springs sideways a few yards, nocking another arrow and letting it loose at the demon!

OOC:

Taking the initiative again this round. Move 3 yards to use Springing Strike talent. 20 to hit, rolled an even number on the attack so Wild Might activates as well.

Furmyr Inactive for 18 days

Salvia backpedals (if she can do so without getting swiped at—if not, she stays put). As she does so, her one remaining tentacle takes a swing at the demon.

As she preps her spell, she sees Hermann make a bold attack. She recalls having seen this lunge of his in a dream the night before, so she calls out, "Higher!" just as he is about to execute it, causing him to raise his strike just enough to get over the creature's defenses!

She then points at the demon, squeezes her hand into a fit, and utters a sonorous arcane word. Arne takes a defensive position, using the Cover Ally feature.

OOC:

Tentacle attack at the beginning of turn. Use my Reaction to cast Interpret Omen, which allows me to add 3 to a roll I see, so I add it to Hermann's, turning his miss into a hit! Then I cast Shatter in the creature.

OOC:

Using my Experience Revelations ability to replace that 4 on the Intellect roll for Shatter with a 19, making the total a 23. I had rolled the three revelations at the beginning of the game and have had them on my sheet.

"Lucky!" Hermann says, through gritted teeth. He steps into the space the creature retreated from and tries again! If they could keep it at the end of their blades, they could surely surround and bring it down!

Man this system does so much more damage than Demon Lord lol.

Outnumbered, the group rains death and destruction on the demon. Blue blood splatters and spurts everywhere. It isn't long before the demon succumbs to its wounds and disappears into a cloud of sulfurous smoke. The street is quiet. Several small groups of people peek cautiously from adjoining roads. The man you were after originally lies unconscious at the mouth of the alley.

"Barely an inconvenience." Hermann quips, as he rights himself and whips his rapier around to flick away any remaining gore. He straightens up, and looks at the unconscious man.

"Though less so for him." he says, though he can’t help but look about at the faces watching either.

He wanted to see if any of them seemed a little too interested in the goings on!

With a dismissive wave of her hand, the remaining tentacle shrivels up and disappears in a wisp of fetid green mist.

Her Wizard Sight still active, she looks to see if any creature, object or space is under the effects of magic, or possesses a magical aura.

Kade takes out a piece of cloth and starts cleaning the axe as if that will help when the rest of him is soaked in blue blood. "What I wouldn't give for a bath right now."

Salvia sees just he faint tinge of magic aura around the broken statue pieces but it starts fading after the demon's expulsion from the material plane. No other auras are visible.

The attacked woman who fled is among the crowd of onlookers, being supported by a young man. "Is he...dead?"

Salvia turns to the woman and speaks, her voice a combination of kindness and impatience, saying, "There there, now, my dear, the man is unconscious, the demon dispelled. Now why don't you tell us what happened, yes?"

Arne stands next to her, his hand on the hilt of his sheathed weapon, his eyes scanning the crowd for threats. Occasionally he glances down at the unconscious man to make sure he isn't rousing, as well.

"I-I don't know," the woman starts with a shaking voice. "I was just on my way to the bakery when that man came out of the alley. It looked like he was, I don't know, talking to the statue or maybe himself. He looked a little crazy so I must've stopped and stared in shock. Then he saw me and just flew at me! I mean, not fly like a bird of course, but it happened so fast. He was on me, hurting me, so I just pushed him as hard as I could and ran!"

Salvia nods, recording everything she hears in her mind palace, then looks over the woman, briefly. Does she seem injured?

Then she turns her eye to the unconscious man and says to Arne and the others, "This man should be restrained." She begins to examine him, searching him for any clues.

The woman has several wounds that will need medical care but are not immediately life threatening.

The man has nothing on him. He's wearing a cheap set of common clothes that are now dirty and bloodstained as well as threadbare. The man remains consciousness when he is lifted up by Arne.

"What's going on? Why are you hurting me?"

"The Inquisition will get to the bottom of this." Hermann says to the woman, as if the words might serve to calm her. Though, in his experience, those words would usually send ice through the common man or woman’s veins…

He rounds on the awakening man, and steps forward.

"How did you come to possess this statue?" he asks, and each word is like a pin pricking the skin!

Salvia approaches the woman and says, "Let me help." she raises a hand and it begins to glow purple-lavender, with sparkles effervescing from it. The woman’s wounds grow gently warm and close, easing any pain.

Arne holds the man tightly and says nothing, deferring to Herman.
