Cevron gets a sinking feeling in his stomach. He is starting to think it would have been better to stay back in town and watch some racing instead. For this reason he remains laconic for most of the journey. If asked he excuses himself and says he'd like to meditate before the hunt.

OOC:
We're at the point where everyone else is getting on. You don't have to get on.

OOC:
He'll still get on. Just have a sinking feeling. He's afraid that to back down suddenly will look bad on the Jedi, so will probably subtly sabotage the hunt should they indeed be sentient beings.

I don't want to do any level of hand-holding that is unwelcome, so let me know if this is over stepping, but with a rank in Xenology, Kolibri would know whether or not he knows anything about Quizzers (and the only way WE can know as players if the character knows anything is to roll the dice).
Nov 11, 2025 9:02 pm
OOC:
oh yeah, thanks for the reminder. I was thinking of using his talents and force powers when we got closer, but no harm rolling now to see what he knows.
As they board the transports, Kolibri pauses to think what he knows enough about the local fauna. Maybe he can help assage his allies concerns

Yeesh, angry dice there.

Ok, sounds like everyone is at least literally on-board (the transports), I'll push us forward to the beginning of the hunt.

May not have a post up until tomorrow tho.

As the transports rumble and lift off packed with bodies, perhaps the most salient thing that you notice here which hasn't been as noticeable before, is that ... Gamorreans have very different personal hygiene standards ... from what might be more common in the Inner Core.

The trip is a relatively short one though, 10 minutes or so, and you soon land in a small, clear-cut field amongst an otherwise dense, but low, jungle canopy.

Upon disembarking, you see there is a small building, possibly some sort of military outpost based on it's appearance, at the fringe of the clear cut area.

There is some hubbub as the Gamorreans organize themselves into smaller hunting bands, which Forest translates for you as it goes along.

You're welcome to either each of you go with a different band, or stay together with the both of you going with a single band.

"I know I joked about a competition," Cevron whispers to Kolibri. "But I have a bad feeling, I think we should stick together for this one."
Nov 13, 2025 8:55 pm
"Agreed. Best if we look out for each other while we are out there." Kolibri replies.
Nov 19, 2025 5:20 pm
OOC:
Alright, do you guys want to go with a group that has Gamorreans you already "know" from the previous day? Or a new, unknown group?
As you disembark, a humid, windless heat hits your skin and breath, as well as an earthy - but not unpleasant - smell of plant aromatics and the natural and healthy process of plant-decay that underlies everything in an ecosystem like this.

After the hiss of the doors and the roar of the shuttle engines subside, the sound of insects and distant animal squawks and hoots fills the ebbing silence.

The area is one that has been clear-cut a long time ago, and you can see at it's fringes that the forest is fighting to reclaim the area with tall ferns and shrubs and dangling vines obscuring the boundary between clearing and wilderness.

The Warlord is again speaking, this time with the aid of his shuttle's loudspeakers to overcome the ambient cacophony, and Forest translates. The speech is just oriented toward coordinating hunting grounds and time-lines, so that all groups know where they can and should be, and by what time they should return to the clearing, for their results to count in the competition.

After that, the groups each begin trudging off into the... jungle, you think is the closest word for the kind of forest this is. And this where First bids you farewell, as he doubts his ability to navigate the terrain. Once you breech the natural shroud of plant-life that hems in the clearing, you find there is little undergrowth beneath the canopy - except for large fungi growths. The ground is uneven, with rocky protrusions here and there, and most of the surface you walk upon is squishy. Water pools quickly in your footsteps, but is just as quickly re-absorbed by the ..."soil" (which is characterized by some sure of thin-stranded, tangle ground-cover that almost looks more like coarse hair than any plant you're familiar with.
OOC:
In addition to the above question, please consider which implements you would select from the Gamorreans - club, axe, javelin, net, trapping gear.

Also, one or both of you could make a Xenoligy check to see how communications with Gamorreans for here for awhile.
Nov 20, 2025 10:07 am
Cevron sticks close to the Gamorreans he already recognize from the day before, so when they are divided up into groups he'll at least be on familiar terms. He happily take a net and a couple of javelins.

He tries to keep at the back of the group, letting the local experts lead the way. He tries to follow their instructions as well as he can, but there is definitively a language barrier there.

Kolibri takes a net, and follows Cevron's lead for now. Sticking with the slightly more familiar Gamorreans seems wise. Once there is some distance between them and the other groups, Kolibri reaches out with the force to see what other living things he can feel in the area.
OOC:
Kolibri still has his shockprod, correct? that wasn't taken with the lightsabers? Just verifing since it adds one point to the Sense check

1 Black Force Point

Nov 20, 2025 8:29 pm
OOC:
Yea, you still have your prod if you want it.

Although in the process of finding the full book description of the item, to make sure we got the Force power feature right, I did read that Findsman Prods are unique to their maker like a Lightsaber. And they can only rarely be bought on the black market and generally only get there through nefarious means (which doesn't seem to match up to it's Rarity designation), if you're not a Gand Findsman.

So what this means is two (or three) fold:

1. If a Findsman ever sees you with it, they will not be happy about you having it.

2. They are highly identifiable as a possession. They would be recognizable to authorities (as something unique and identifying, not necessarily as a Findsman prod), like a tattoo might be useable to identify people.

3. Your character probably went to a Black Market and bought an alternate Force tradition's signature weapon, knowing that it probably came off of a dead m member of that Tradition.

Sorry I didn't look into this earlier. Just looked at the relatively low cost and the Rarity which is 100% allowable under standard character creation rules, and didn't think too much more about it until now.

3. ... if you want to weave some alternate narrative about how you got it, that's fine if you can make it make sense, but 1 and 2 are non-negotiable.

OOC:
🤔 Can't really think of a good reason he would have it then, especially as a Jedi Service Corps member. Maybe he intents to return it if he finds the owner? But that seems like an obligation mechanic type thing
Nov 21, 2025 2:45 am
OOC:
I mean, maybe he doesn't know about the Findsmen, and just bought it becuz he could sense it's attachment to the Force?

That doesn't change 1 or 2, if either ever comes into play. But it could explain how/why he has it without putting him in a bad light. And just might provide some fodder for drama down the road?
Nov 21, 2025 5:28 am
OOC:
I do like drama. Let's go with that. The wand chose the wizard, then the Rawwk chose it as a perch
Nov 21, 2025 4:16 pm
OOC:
Ok, so you have your Findsman stick, I'm assuming you want to use the force point to fuel the Sense Power (do you also wish to use the dark pip you generated?).

This is what you can get through the basic power:
Kolibri reaches out with Force and he feels it flowing through him, he also feels it flowing through the living things near him.

There is ofc Cevron and the Gamorreans, but there is more than that. So much more. This strange fungus jungle teems with life. He senses a few creatures below ground level, they must burrow within the strange coarse and tangled fiber substrate, or be submerged in the waters or muddy soil of pooled water.

And he can also sense life in the canopy above. No doubt the origin of the squawks and hoots.

...

Cevron finds that he's picking up the words of the Gamorreans decently well, the few guards whom you're all familiar with from the previous evening must be simplifying their speech or slowing down and over-pronouncing their grunts and squeals. Or perhaps the primer was just somewhat useful.

Between gestures and one word directions, you get the impression that they're going to start by laying down some traps. Placing polished bits of metal on the ground, along with some snares, and then signaling that a net or javelin can be used if any Quizzer come for the bait (the shiny things). Those who choose to lie in wait can cover themselves with camouflaged cloths.
OOC:
I know you guys have raised some questions regarding the intelligence level of the Quizzer, is there anything you'd like to do to try to diagnose that? Or you can go ahead and put together a narrative, and roll when you're ready, wrt how you'd like to help (or hindering was also mentioned?) the hunt.

Kolibri, your use of Force Sense doesn't give much specific information at the basic level, but it could certainly help locate potential prey, if you're wondering what you can really "get out of it".

Basically boost dice to checks to spot things. Or ofc other creative uses you can think of.
Nov 21, 2025 7:26 pm
Cevron is talking a little louder than he would during a hunt under the pretense of making himself understood, and generally trying to make a little more sound than he otherwise would. Not enough to make the other Gamorreans suspicious, but to hopefully maybe drive away prey.

Got it, but I don't want to risk using the darkside point for more info. I'd like to commit the force die to scout via the rawwk, so no force powers for a while. Lemme know if that's not how it works.
Kolibri tries making gestures to explain that he is going to send his pet to look around. Then he connects with the rawwk through the Force, directing it to fly in the general direction he assumes the quizzers will come from. Hopefully he can get an idea of what they are dealing with ahead of time.

Lucien, meanwhile decided to devote his time to looking in on the pod races, and if he had time, later, he would check into the meal preparations and the cultural affairs happening there. His goals were to observe and see what he could pick up by being a witness to what was happening before him, hoping to be a quick study to Gamorr and the Gamorreans and ultimately the mission at hand.

I cannot fail Master, was the thought that passed through Lucien's mind, hoping he would prove himself as indispensable as the rest of the party Master Barouk brought along to accomplish the objectives here. Learning and Diplomacy...our mission, and Lucien aimed to position himself both in a place to learn and to be a diplomat. Still, after the confrontation before, it seemed like there was a possibility the Diplomacy was going to be challenged in ways Master was not hoping for.
