I like the idea of jumping parallel worlds with a building: having a base in each weird world would be nice. Though it might feel like a starship landing on planets if the building isn't weird enough.
The part where the TARDIS (technically a space ship but also used as a building) jumps to alien and parallel worlds. You basically just described the premise of Doctor Who.

And then I cautioned against it in the very next sentence.

Well, I can promise you the building is weird enough and doesn't look like a starship, but you can do your own research from here should you want to know more. As a few folks have pointed out, this basically just describes Doctor Who.

Peace!

I've seen enough of Doctor Who when I was little. Not my favorite show, and it certainly fades in comparison to other British series like Utopia or Broadchurch.
[ +- ] Grok 4's take on this discussion, because you people gaslighted me enough to check if my words are truly incomprehensible.
I wouldn't mind some peace now.

But...but... that's the joke.

As far as the original topic, I would love to run one of the WoD werewolf games but as a newbie to the lore, it feels out of reach.

Also, I would love to do something cyberpunk. Maybe Cy Borg for some bleak OSR weirdness. For something longer, I have looked at Cities Without Number or Cyberpunk RED with a bunch of combat mods.

Someday, when I've recovered form surgery, when my life slows down, when I no longer worry about having to flee the freaking country, I'd like to run: Shadowdark, Monsterhearts, Thirsty Sword Lesbians, Perils and Princesses, Dungeon Bitches, Dungeon World 2, Glitter Hearts, Heart: the City Beneath, Night Witches, Misspent Youth, oh so many more...

Project: Urban fantasy game where your character used to be friends as children when 'the incident happened'. None of you have memories of it, but one of you was lost. Maybe you remained friend and stayed in town, maybe you left tried to move on, but several years on you are draw back to your home town again, and may finally be able to beginning uncovering what happened that night, while slowly learning that there are supernatural things in the world

It a concept I have had for years, and still deciding on the exact system but its likely going to be cortex, drawing a lot off Smallville, as a lot of focus will be on relationships among PCs and drama.
I, too, think that Cortex Prime would be perfect for this. And since I wanted to try that system, I'm also interested in this idea. I would be more inspired by a setting other than Europe or North America, however. Anime-esque Japan, perhaps. There's a lot of inspiration to be found in various tv-series and anime titles, but I think Cortex will make the experience unique anyway.
Nope, it's set in a little northern England mining town and staying there :p For various reasons, but if I'm not having to learn/research how a different country does things then I can focus more on other things like the mythos.

It's planning to be a very different style from most anime. Even though I started listening to the podcast after I came up with the original idea, Magnus archives would be a good things to point to as some of the inspiration, though slightly less focus on horror. (She says, but by the time I finished working in it it may be renamed as the horror/urban fantasy game)

That's fine. Like I always say, my suggestions aren't demands. I'd be interested in playing it in northern England too, if you decide to run it. And horror elements are very much welcome, too.

WtA is much easier in that way. There aren't that many big metaplot moments from it that I can remember, as opposed to VtM and MtAs.

Create a Caern, populate it. Pick an antagonist (Pentex is always a good choice). If you're feeling overwhelmed by the Umbral stuff, simply restrict the travel to the Penumbra (the spiritual reflection of Earth) and wing it with the spirits (everyone does anyway). And you're good to go!

WtA is much more about the pack (somewhat similar to the VtM Sabbat) than deep lore anyway.

Does anyone remember the science fantasy series with the warrior girl and the talking jaguars and titles for the phases of the moon? It had a house of many doors each leading to a different world. Totally blanking on the name of the series.

Small idea: High level pathfinder 1e. I have the first adventure I'd start running with, I'm just struggling with mental energy at the moment, as a people in my games know. So I need to get the couple I'm currently running back to a good pace and feeling confident I can add another.
I tried to run a high-level Pathfinder game on here, but found that my own knowledge of PF at higher levels (the game was for level 20 characters) was woefully inadequate. Trying to remember everything that a given character can do or is immune to became a pain. The failing wasn't the system, it was my own.

Yeah I' not going tobjunonstraight to 20. The ap I was going tobstart with is 9 I think. But then hopefully some jumps if continuing in from that book.

I've had a fair bit of experience with high levels, and like to think I am fairly good at the rules. But there's is going to be a fair amount of trust in players also owing the rules and what their characters can do.

Twilight 2000. I’m not terribly tech savvy though and so all the inventory management scares me.

I wouldn't mind to playtest the realistic rules-lite-ish tactical space combat system I've been writing recently. But I want people who are actually enthusiastic about it, and finding at least two before New Year seems unlikely at this point. That's fair. I expected that.

Other than that, I'd rather play something instead.

Yeah, from Free League

Right now I have a bit too much on my plate to start up another game, but one day I'd love to give Heart: The City Beneath and Mythic Bastionland a go here on GP.

Both are some flavor of weird fantasy (though pretty different types of weird). One's a point-crawl and the other more a hexcrawl, but I think they're both very good vehicles for creating emergent stories that can catch the GM by surprise just as much as the players (and allow the players a great deal of agency and ability to drive the plot, as it were).

Twilight 2K 4thEd was on my radar to run until RL events started to parallel the game a bit too much for my comfort. I like the 4th Ed. system and may run it at some point but won't be the 'canon' setting.
