Oops! Sorry, GM. Not trying to cheat, just forgetful.

No, no, no - no recriminations! That was three months ago! I had to look it up, because I didn't put it in my notes as I should have.

Sweet, that makes this simpler 😁

Sorry for the slow post, everyone. There's a massive post incoming with Morton responding to all your questions, but I keep getting interrupted by work and life stuff. I should have it up later this afternoon.

All good, it is nice to take a breath after such a terrifying night 😁

I count three votes for returning to Hochoch. We need to decide if we want to spend another night at the farmhouse. I assume our corpse disposal will take most of the day.

@spaceseeker19 posted that disposing of the bodies would take three hours if everyone helped. And that if we left immediately after that we could reach Hochoch shortly after nightfall. If we abandon looking for Antonius’ hammer, we could be back to safety today…

I agree and Dell could even follow Ene's trail for a bit to see if she dropped it. Not to much danger in the woods in the daylight except the normal the he could beat feet to catch up.

If the team pitches in with Dell doing some tracking for the hammer, sounds a plan.

Burn the bodies and leave immediately with or without the hammer.

The sooner the party gets to Hochoch, the better. Woe to any bandits on the way.

FYI, starting tomorrow, I'll be travelling on vacation for the next two weeks. I'll have limited time/internet access, but I'll do what I can to keep up.

Sorry for the delay, everyone: the power company replaced one of the poles in our neighborhood yesterday, and there was no electricity until pretty late.

A vague plan: we attack the bandits with spells and missile fire, draw some of the bandits away toward us, ambush them, then go after the rest.

Question: Should Kazzak get back on the wagon and take the reins? Otherwise, he can move up with his crossbow.

That's quite a few targets and mostly ranged attack capable. By the time Berthold closes the distance to his first adversary, there'll have been 8 ranged attacks against the vanguard. Our experience with the skeletons back with our older party suggests that we'll be pincushioned into a halt. So yeah, splitting them might be a good strategy, but as we do that, they might just slaughter the travellers.

If we could cover a part of the distance moving through the woods undetected, we might take them by surprise. Then close on a pincer move, flanking them from both sides: a couple of melee combatants on the left (say, Berthold and Sora) and a couple on the right (Antonius and Kazzak) , supported by ranged attacker -- Amnestria (left), Dell (right) and Morton (on either side).

Sounds a solid plan

I like the plan πŸ‘πŸ»
Sep 3, 2026 1:42 am
I’m good with that plan.

Or do we hold off and not attack
Sep 5, 2026 8:40 pm
I think these travelers could be monks. Robes and quarter staves. They might be able to help once the fight starts.

Thoughts: starting a fight with the bandits might endanger the robbery victims and we might have to deal with hostages.
