Same here, @wanderone, I’m happy that we’ve all finally met, and that you are rejoining the group. Whatever comes out of Berthold’s mouth is what a person who’s never seen Morton might think, under the stressful conditions in which we have met (Berthold has been downed twice this day, once by the bandits and once by the zombies, you could assume he’s a bit on edge).
EDIT: As a lone traveller aware of many of the dangerous things that lay ahead, Morton has much to share to increase the party’s chances of survival. But if he comes across as evasive, arrogant or bossy he’ll alienate the people who stand in the way of him getting some much needed rest and perhaps easier passage to Hochoch.
I guess Morton feels very alone and exhausted. But he can’t expect to be greeted as a saviour, or even as an innocent traveller, given the circumstances in which he has met the new party members. For his own safety and future prospects, he’d do well to be forthcoming and direct in his answers, unless he suspects us of being bandits, or in league with the cult. But if so, can he afford to be evasive or disagreeable with these people he’s just met mid-combat, and who might decide he’s a risk not worth taking?
