The Temple of Deel used to be a busy fane of the warrior-demon-goddess. Now it's been a while since anyone has seen monks traveling to and from — or coming to get supplies from the nearby farming villages. Instead, there have been incidents of banditry and abduction from the outlying farms.

Now, the farmer Simeon says: "It came at dawn, with many legs like a slimy worm. It stole my goats, and my son! I am lost!"
