BLOOD & CHROME - A Cyberpunk Chronicle [ EDIT ]
This game has been retired! That means it's no longer being run.

"The City of Dreams. I'd gladly kick the balls off the idiot who thought that one up."
GAME SUMMARY
BLOOD & CHROME is a CY_BORG campaign that is heavily based upon Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. These two source materials provide excellent examples of the kind of atmosphere, storylines, characters and emotional storytelling that this CY_BORG chronicle seeks to emulate.
In BLOOD & CHROME, the city of CY stands as a metropolis of greed, corruption, decadence, corporate supremecy, violence and ambition. It is a city that never sleeps - where the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer; everyone not on the corporate payroll fights to keep their heads above water, to survive in a place where the deck seems to always be stacked against them. People die, opportunists seize every chance to better their own circumstances, and the line between good and evil becomes blurrier every day.
And yet, despite it all, people always want to come to CY. It is the City of Dreams, at least by proclamation, and ambitious mercenaries from all over come to these neon-lit streets to earn themselves money and fame - to become legends. It doesn't matter that most of them die in the attempt, or receive a reality check so painful that they never recover: the allure of wealth and legacy is just too powerful to ignore.
BLOOD & CHROME is a story focused on one such band of mercenaries. It is intended to be a long-term, roleplay heavy, emotional tale exploring the challenges and costs of fighting to survive, and thrive, in a city of broken promises and unrealised dreams.
WELCOME TO CY
The CY depicted in BLOOD & CHRONE will be heavily influenced by Cyberpunk's infamous Night City, and how it appears in the Cyberpunk 2077 computer game and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Netflix series. Companies and locations from the CY_BORG rulebook will certainly be utilised as a base model for CY, but will be flavoured to match in tone and appearance the above source material.
The Miserable Headlines doomsday mechanic and metaplot of CY_BORG will not be used in this game.
CONTENT WARNING
BLOOD & CHROME will contain dark and mature themes, swearing, depictions of violence and vice, and other adult content. The kind of themes and stories featured in Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be portrayed in this game - if you find any of the content in the above source material uncomfortable or unsavoury, this will not be the game for you.
LETHALITY WARNING
The City of CY is a dangerous place, which is correctly emulated through the CY_BORG mechanics. While the GM will not go out of their way to hurt or kill characters, there remains a high level of risk and lethality to life in CY, and this fact will neither be sugarcoated nor diminished in play. Rash actions, poorly executed or ill-prepared plans, and bad rolls of the dice can all contribute towards the possibility of a character death - this should be understood and accepted by any applicant to the game.
Should a player character die in the course of the story, the player will be invited to make another should they wish. If not, recruitment will reopen for a replacement.
RECRUITMENT INFORMATION
I will be looking to take on 2-3 players of any experience level for this campaign who understand, and can deliver upon, the posting expectations detailed below. Regularly failing to adhere to these expectations will result in ejection from the game.
POSTING EXPECTIONS
Players are expected to be able to commit to posting at least 3 times per week (and more often during combat). Posts should be well-detailed, legible, of sizeable length (paragraphs, not sentences), and should serve to acknowledge and add to the posts that come before them rather than exist in a void. Combat responses are likely to be shorter by their very nature, but where possible players should always be aiming to provide the most engagement and detail possible with their posts.
This is a campaign intended to be roleplay heavy, where the players are eager and motivated to engage with the world and one another. It is not the kind of campaign where the GM needs to constantly prompt and incentivise players to interact, participate, and contribute to the scene. Players looking to join this game should be motivated to take part in detailed, engagement heavy roleplay amongst themselves and with the NPCs they encounter.
If a player cannot post for a period of time due to illness or real life commitments, an effort should be made to make the GM aware of the absence early where at all possible. Constantly being late with, or missing, posts will likely result in the player being replaced by someone better able to commit to the game.
HOW TO APPLY
Anyone wanting to apply for the game should post their interest in the game's linked recruitment thread. Provided there is still space, they will be invited to send a private message to the GM with an example narrative post detailing a character existing in the City of CY. This character can be anyone and in any situation, and does not have to be the character that the player is hoping to portray in the game - the post is merely a means of allowing the GM to gauge whether the player's writing style is a suitable fit for the game (the Posting Expectations above should be taken into account for this example narrative, just as they should be for any game post).
For the purposes of this example post, links to other games and old threads will not be accepted. The example post should be cyberpunk-themed, focused on a CY city character, and should be adherent to the Posting Expectations mentioned above.
Should space in the game remain, and providing the post is accepted, the player will be invited to join the game board. There they will roll up their character alongside the other players using the Character Generation Info guidance (featured elsewhere on this Details page); once done, they can submit the completed character to the GM for final approval.

Each player in BLOOD & CHROME should have one player character only, which they'll make for the game using the steps outlined in the CY_BORG rulebook. All characters must be newly rolled for this game - pre-existing character sheets will not be accepted.
When a player is invited to the game, they can interact with the other players to create their characters. Players can choose to establish pre-existing connections with other crew members if they wish, or they can be newly acquainted mercenaries.
Players can freely choose their own class, or decide to be classless. However, multiple players cannot belong to the same class (this is to encourage variety of concept within the crew). Players can also choose their own Features, Style and Obsession rather than rolling, if they wish.
Abilities, Stuff, Debt, Glitches and Hit Points must all be rolled and posted to the game's Character Generation thread using the site dice roller. Rolls not made this way won't be accepted.
Once a character is rolled up, a character profile should be made for them and submitted to the game for GM review and final approval. Alongside the character's stats, this profile should include the following:
1.) A detailed and complete character background - the more information provided, the better;
2.) A physical description of the character - how they carry themselves, their mannerisms, their style, etc.;
3.) A personality description of the character - what they're like to engage with, what inspires them, their likes and dislikes, etc.;
4.) A list of short- and long-term character goals, in as much detail as possible; and
5.) Information on what the character fears most.
