Hello folks!
Heard of this place when I was looking at some tips and tricks on Play by Post. I've done it a couple times via Discord (and MSN Messenger of all things in the ancient times) but I've never really looked at the broader community or ways other people approach this method of play.
Usually I don't run or play RPGs with unknown people, but I figured I'd make an account since the last few games that were being set up turned out to not last or even start. Unsure yet, but I may join or run some game in the future. The itch is definitely there.
I've experimented with a variety of games across the years, but most of my experience comes from DnD 3.5, Shadowrun, Fantasy Flight's 40K range (Rogue Trader, Dark Heresy, Only War, Black Crusade), 40K Wrath & Glory, Mutant Year Zero and Feng Shui. Mainly in fairly short bursts if you cross out the Fantasy Flight stuff, not that much experience with long campaigns. Life's often managed to get in the way.
For the time being I'll stick to lurking about, give or take some small contributions. I already made a character sheet and some basic dice codes in cautious preparation for potentially running Wrath & Glory, but I wouldn't hold my breath there.
EDIT: I guess I could add that as a player I might be interested in exploring the OSR space and some lighter systems in general as I haven't had that much of a chance to do so yet. Mörk Borg, CY_Borg, Shadowdark (once I manage to get my hands on the book) among others. I would especially like to hear suggestions for lighter games. I lean towards liking sci-fi stuff a bit more, but anything really goes if there's at least some grime to the setting.
