Session 0 and character creation

Hi everyone. This is out Session 0 and Character creation thread.

Welcome!
First of all please take a look at my tutorial tread by this link.
Then say hi here and roll your character ability scores.

Character creation
For your convenience - copy ofSo please
1. Roll your ability scores
2. Decide and post here your decision if you stay with rolled or fall back to standard array (anyone need standard array explained/defined?)

After choosing your class you can roll your HP, but I don't recommend that.
HP at level 2 and 3 as per PHB: you can either use average or you can roll - your choice, but there is no reroll or fallback, so I recommend taking average (rounded up per rules).

Your character sheet and your responsibilities
I allow either custom or 5e charactersheet and all I need to see on you character sheet are actually only these:
- Your AC
- Your current HP
- Your passive perception (or just perception modifier)You will have to keep track of your used spell slots, hit dice and other limiter use resources. You will also need to keep your current HP.


What else you should know?
Let me try to remember, so
- I play RAW, when rules ask DM to decide or unclear, I try to make it how is better for party/players
- Only exception may be Initiative order as we will probably run some combats in "side mode" to be explained later, but seasoned gamerspane players would know what that is
- Probably something more i forgot and add later

I made a character with everything labeled as "Dunno." I have not yet submitted it, because I do not know if I can change everything, including the name, as I figure oyt what I am doing. I am old and rather technologically inept.

Here is my attempt at rolling dice.

I'll keep those numbers and make a Fighter. His name will be Garran Veyr.

I'll put his form in a Google Doc, and then fill in the most important ones in the GP character form.

Based on your's Character Sheet, I think Garran is a solid frontliner👍 the Trip Attack from Battle Master is going to be Helpful in Combat.

(Also, i think Garran's Alignment is True Neutral, but to me its like Chaotic Good. But its your choice, not mine😅)

I found a official site to allow me to make a free character, but I am stuck on background. There were only 4 options and they are all terrible and unrelated to a Druid. On the 5e rules, I found an option for "folk hero" which seemed fitting but I do not know if it is acceptable. I also do not know if I am seeing all available options.

Ah, the SRD dilemma, there's nothing i can do about it to help you... You using Beyond? You only get "D&D Beyond Basic Rules", which isn't much, because you didn't even get PHB, i don't like beyond anyway.

That link looks like the 3.5 PHB that I have, where a background is not part of the character creation. That's fine. I did not like those, anyway. I will work on it. I will probably be slow.
