What's up gamers? It's ya boi, Thor.

I'm here because TTRPGs and roleplaying in general are genuine passions of mine (read: addictions), and I would really love to find ways to add a little more of both into my everyday (read: dripfeed myself with it every day so I don't get withdrawals). As a father of 3 little girls, making time for weekly live games is next to impossible, so I think PbP is the perfect solution.

As for my pedigree, I've been roleplaying in some form or another for just about as long as I can remember; I got my start RPing on a PbP-style forum almost 20 years ago, I've been very active in certain MMO RP communities, and I've played a LOT of Tabletop. Like I would imagine is the case for most people these days, most of my experience comes from Dungeons & Dragons. I'm a 4e baby, but 5e is where I've racked up most of my played hours. That's not to say I'm exclusively interested in D&D, I've tried and enjoyed plenty of other systems-- particularly 13th Age, PbtA and Pathfinder 2e-- and I'm always open for new experiences.

Throughout my "career" if you can call it that, I've probably written multiple novels worth of RP. The quality of this writing can be perhaps be questioned, but my passion for- and engagement with roleplaying throughout the years has always been very strong. I've been a forever DM these last few years and I know the kind of effort that goes into writing and running a campaign for people. You can be sure that as a player, I'll engage with your writing and your world, as well as the other characters in the party.

I'm crossing my fingers for some peeps out there looking for a +1.

Take it sleazy, and have a good one.
- Thor.

Welcome - I started at PBP for the very same reason. I became a father to a little girl and my freetime was spotty at best.

Welcome Aboard!

PbP is a great way to still enjoy the RPG hobby, even with limited free time! GamersPlane is a great place to play old favorite systems and expand into other systems you might've been curious about. There's a good variety of games systems, setting and playstyles living on our platform. The community is great here.

Welcome!

As others have pointed out, PbP is a great way to keep gaming when in-person games becomes impossible to schedule (jobs, families, etc.). When I got to that point in my life, I played via email as I was unaware of anything like PbP being available. But decades later, I joined GP (and PbP) as it was the only way to meet new gamers and try out new games. It's definitely a great way to continue gaming.

Cheers! I'm in a similar boat and have found this place to be great for what you're after. Hope you can sink your teeth into a game soon!

Thanks, guys :D I'm not surprised to see I'm not the only one and there are plenty of people who relate. Real life has a way of getting in the way of hobbies sometimes, and I'm glad there at least exists a way to keep it up.
