My guess is that folks here know of Keep The Story Moving--it's a free ebook about how to run good PbP games. I've found it amazingly helpful in. . . well. . . keeping the story moving. Really think it is worth a look if you've not grabbed it. Link is above.

I've read it, and I agree. It's taken me a couple years of being on GP to learn some of these points on my own. Some of these are covered by Len's "How to Write a Recruitment Post" in the Games Tavern, but it doesn't cover gameplay. So I think all players new to PbP could learn a lot from reading it, especially GMs.

Appendix G discusses a game system entitled "Declared Intent: An Async-Friendly TTRPG System." One need not use it, but it's worth reading through. Elements of it might prove useful to GMs.

Wow, a 139-page book on play-by-post role-playing games? Nice find! I've started reading it, and it sounds like this person knows what they're talking about. Not every point they make goes with my style, but you could do a lot worse than following this guide. Definitely a worthwhile resource to point to when we have new members who are not experienced with pbp.

Is this something that we can add to the New GP Member Guide?
