I currently have one more space available for my Star Wars WEG D6 Revised & Expanded game. 😁
The Details page will be attached to this thread so it's easy to locate and look over, and the opening post to the game will be included below to help people gauge interest.
If there's any questions, please feel free to put them in here and I'll reply as soon as I can.
STAR WARS: Tempest Feud
It is more than eighteen years since Palpatine pronounced himself Emperor. Alliances have formed; Rebellion has been declared. In response, the Tarkin Doctrine has withered planets such as Pazurka, quelled dissidence on Agamar and crushed Irradia's secret rebel base.
Unbeknownst to the galaxy, the Death Star's completion is less than two years away.
In the escalating conflict, a fledgling Rebel Alliance seeks any means to gain an advantage over the inexhaustible Galactic Empire. Their salvation is believed to reside in the formidable Indrexu Spiral, a maze of protomatter, cometary debris and astroid fields that no-one has ever been able to navigate. Until now.
When word reaches the Alliance that a safe route has been plotted through the Spiral, it becomes a top priority to gain access to that information before the Empire....
"Someone's got to have it. Why not us?"
- A common Hutt aphorism.
The stop-over on Rudrig has lasted far longer than expected, but there were far worse places in the galaxy to be stranded. Lush, quiet, and sporting a strict no-weapons law, the Outer Rim world helped one to forget, if only for a moment, the ongoing terrors and woes of a galaxy torn asunder.
Perhaps because the common view of the Rebel Alliance was one picturing thuggish individuals hidden away in dark rooms and muck-coated trenches, it was difficult for most Imperial citizens to ever accept the idea that the organisation might house a number of cells and safe houses in such a picturesque environment; but in the shadow of the renown University of Rudrig, the resistance maintained itself within satisfactory, if somewhat small, quarters.
Whether through fate, circumstance or design, it was among this number that the trio of Rebel agents found themselves. Each knew one another - or, at the least, knew of one another - but seemed genuinely surprised when, after being summoned one by one, they found themselves together in a small, artistically decorated lecture chamber just outside of the main University campus. When the last of the agents had stepped in through the door the room became quiet, and each looked to the other in silent curiosity.
Before any questions could be asked, the door opened one final time and through it stepped a tall, finely dressed human of middling-years. He was of sturdy build, and all recognised him at once as Lieutenant Galigan: their senior officer, and a respected one at that. He had experienced more than a few skirmishes with the Empire, and had lost his two sons during; but one who didn't know him intimately, or who hadn't served under him closely, would scarcely have been able to consider that he had suffered such a loss.
"Thank you for coming. Please be seated." Without further word, Lieutenant Galigan moved towards the center of the room and activated the holographic projector that had been inlaid there. Suddenly the room was filled with a crisp, swirling star map.
"This is the Indrexu Spiral," he began, gesturing firmly towards the dancing image. His tone was officious, and, as ever, he seemed to forgo small talk and leap right into the heart of the matter. "A mass of protomatter, cometary debris, and asteroid fields that snakes through the Tion Cluster. It's presence presents a hazard to interstellar shipping, forcing starships to go parsecs out of their way to avoid it. No one has been able to map it accurately, much less find a safe route through it - until recently."
The briefing officer tapped the display and it changed. Where there had once been a cluster of stars and debris there then sat a conical head. A Hutt - and an old one by the look of him, with patches of dried grey skin along his broad face. His eyes, however, were alive and alert. Allowing for a pause, Lieutenant Galigan glanced among the faces of those around him, as though awaiting a comment or reaction. Finally, he resumed his slow movements around the edge of the display.
"This is Popara the Hutt, leader of a powerful financial empire that includes both legitimate and illegal operations. He has information regarding a safe passage through the Indrexu Spiral." Galigan glanced at the Hutt himself; when he spoke again, it were as though he were speaking to the image directly. "We don't know whether his own operatives did the scouting or whether the information just happened to fall into his hands. Regardless, his ships are successfully navigating the region where others, both our own and the Empire's, have been thwarted - to the great advantage of his shipping lines.
"I don't have to tell you all how valuable this information is right now." The officer looked suddenly tired as he turned back towards those assembled around him. The weight of his features reached his words, and he sounded like a man twice his age. "The ability to move material, equipment, and men through the Cluster is supremely advantageous to anyone with such knowledge." Another pause followed, this one just long enough to allow the Lieutenant to regain his composure and right his posture. He appeared once again to be lively and alert, and when he spoke it was with renewed energy. "I have set up a meeting between our representatives and Popara's group; and I want you to be those representatives. Any questions?"
