I have a growing interests in small games with 1-2 players and a GM. I want to play a game where my characters agency is more prominent than what ever the plot is. The opesit of a railroaded adventure.

I would also like to play in a sci-fy setting, something like StarFinder, StarWars, StarTrek or similar none-gritty space setting.

I'm hoping to play a class from one of the Star-games here and explore the class, more than just being different flavour of weapon holding while we beat up the monster. I'm looking for lore, mysteries, exploration and social interactions in fantasticals worlds.

My question is:
Am I lucky enough that there is a potiential GM that have an idea? Something we could play with?
Or do you have some interesting idears that could be interesting to explore outside the norm? (eg 2 Insurance investigators working for a mega corp in the Shadowrun setting)

I might be willing to run a Star Wars game like this. Are you looking to have the GM set goal (either short or long term) and you accomplish it however you want? Or extreme sandbox where the GM is only setting the difficulty of whatever it is you decide to do?

If I were you I would take a look at Ironsworn Starforged. It's seems tailored to your interests.

I'm Guiding a Sundered Isles game (same system, but seas and islands instead of space and planets), and have a character in it as well. It works supremely well as a sandbox, discover as you go, game. What you put into it, you get out.

Totally agree. Starforged characters' background vows would allow for a campaign focused on characters' motivations and development, as runekyndig seems to prefer.

Might be interested to join if you finally go this route. :-)

Just to nudge back to crazybirdman's offer. A Star Wars game sounds lovely! I'm not at all interested in running one at the moment, but if there's need of another player. I'd be interested in seeing what's on offer.

Ideally players and GM had a chat about each would perfere, and then we would meet in that space to create something we would all enjoy.

I would preferer the GM to set a goal that the character(s) would then work towards in their own way.
What excites you about the starwars setting? What stories would you like to tell?

Thank you for the suggestion. I never really looked into Ironsworn Starforged, but I will now. :)

If you don't mind Savage Worlds, I might be talked into running something. It would be a setting that we all worked to create beforehand (like you suggested).

The Star Wars story we'd tell depends on what setting you'd be playing in: Edge/Age/Force
