This is the kind of story where the camera does not overly focus on graphic content or controversial themes, but does not pretend that such family-unfriendly things are not happening or cannot influence and/or be part of the lives of the people inhabiting the game world, including some of the main characters. Where such topics come up, they are expected to be neither downplayed nor gratuitously savoured. (For a modern media example of such an attitude, consider Apothecary Diaries: it's a 14+ show, but one whose world and plots include many very family-unfriendly events, which are handled in a no-nonsense manner, without relishing and without pearl-clutching. If something was in that series, it very well might show up in this story too.)
More specific content considerations can and should be discussed before the game together.
Notably, here are some defaults (before accounting for change requests):
- There may be violence and even death, but it isn't intended to be described in super-realistic detail.
- There will be interpersonal and factional conflict, though intensity may vary depending on PC actions. Probably nothing worse than what could be seen in HP or Gossip Girl 2007.
- There might be some elements that relate to horror, including stepping into the territory of body horror, but no more than you can see in, say, Alien series or Scorn. These are likely to be rare and/or minor elements within the scope of the campaign.
- Bedroom antics, if any, get a fade to black somewhere between 'right away' and 'once things start getting explicit' (and that's mostly in the sense that maybe there's still some important ongoing dialogue or other plot point that gets spelled out before the fade). Again, GG2007 is a good popular media example of what that looks like in practice.
If there are additional concerns or expectations that are worth addressing, please bring them up - especially things that need to be kept noted down in a visible place (first replies), and not lost in the Discord.
