Knifesedgegames, how much do I actually need to know to play in one of your Call of Cthulhu games? I'd like to try it out, if writing a 1920s character can be enough. I don't currently own any books of that system and setting.

You don't need to know anything (aside from understanding that your character has a very high chance of dying or going insane!), I run them for complete newbies or those that maybe played years ago and want to get back into it. I go through key rules, character generation (or we use pregens in some cases). I don't expect players to have any books, I take care of everything for you.

That's ideal. I'd be interested to try it then. As soon as there's a game. I have a few good character ideas for the time period. And going insane is such a nice bonus. ^^

Hey Knifesedgegames,

I would also be interersted to join a game if you intend to start a new newbie's game.

I have played CoC once as a GM a few years ago (The "Haunted House" one from the Basic Rules book), but never as a player. I also never played PbP so far. I belive this qualifies for a newbie-game?

Just found out about this. I have barely almost zero experience with pbp and ttrpgs in general, and none at all with Call of cthulu. I've been looking for a newbie friendly game for a bit, and this seems perfect! Would be pleased to take place in any future campaign of this you arrange, you seem to do these pretty regularly.

I've been interested in CoC for quite some time but have never got to try it out.
I'm a huge fan of cosmic horror and HP Lovecraft so I definitely understand the vibe

Not sure how rules heavy it is but I'm pretty good at learning new systems
