PRE-GENERATED CHARACTERS
PRE-GEN #1:
. . . LUNAR-17 . . .
Android Mystic
Lunar-17 has spent a great deal of her life online. She feels a deep connection to the deity Lambatuin, after all, and feels it’s her obligation to the wider galaxy to stay connected—people are better off when they’re in touch with each other, instead of being alone. There’s something about the flow of information and ideas that feels, to Lunar-17, almost divine, as if the connections themselves and the ideas and relationships that come from being in open communication with each other are the whole reason people exist in the first place. She’s still working on the best way to explain her ideas about the universe to others, but to Lunar-17, there’s no better use of time than sharing ideas, emotions, and experiences with other people.
PRE-GEN #2:
. . . "NITPICK" BENNIT . . .
Ysoki Witchwarper
Bennit—known to just about everybody as Nitpick—has lived in Striving for his whole life. Strangely, he doesn’t remember too much about his family; if he ever had one at all, they must’ve abandoned him. Ah, well. Nitpick has made plenty of friends in Striving’s various maintenance tunnels, rail stations, alleys, and such. Sure, they might not be the most well-off or trustworthy of friends, but Nitpick isn’t too picky about that. (He’s picky about nearly everything else, but he’ll take friends wherever he can get ‘em.)
PRE-GEN #3: CHARACTER NOW TAKEN
. . . OLD GROWTH WILDFIRE . . .
Khizar Soldier
Old-Growth Wildfire hasn’t lived in Aballon’s jungle-filled Ice Wells for their entire life, but they may as well have—they never talk about their past before that, and they’re older than dirt, so it was quite a long time ago. Every now and then, Wildfire (as their few friends typically call them for short) emerges from the Ice Wells to visit a nearby city—Striving is closest—and see what sort of things are happening on Aballon’s surface. Given the infrequency of their visits, their knowledge of the planet is spotty; Wildfire often has no idea about current events but knows scattered facts about Aballon’s history spanning multiple decades.
PRE-GEN #4:
. . . VORZA MOONSHOT . . .
Vesk Solarian
Smuggler, thief, bounty hunter, space pirate—Vorza has done it all, when the price is right. On a recent job in the Diaspora, the price on Vorza’s head was a little too high, and Vorza’s so-called friends double-crossed him by warning local authorities of their planned "acquisition" of an abandoned ship. (It was technically still occupied by an AbadarCorp regional manager, but that’s beside the point.)
PRE-GEN #5:
. . . TAPKEY . . .
Skittermander Envoy
Tapkey’s never had it so good. For a long time, they had a boring job fixing up busted machines at arcades, casinos, and cafes—then they realized they could turn freelance, get their own clients, and control their own life instead of listening to that nosy boss-slash-uncle of theirs rambling on all the time about schedules and obligations and "just scraping by." Tapkey thinks it’s better to make a killing as a freelancer and send money home than stay in a dead-end career. (Tapkey still plans to visit home for birthdays—the food is always good, and the extended family isn’t all that bad.)
PRE-GEN #6:
. . . JAEDANA . . .
Kasatha Operative
Jaedana got bored of her life on a starship almost immediately, but she was always too nervous to tell her hyper-traditional family that she wanted something else out of life. She tried taking up all kinds of hobbies to keep herself from dying of boredom, but nothing held her interest for long. Vidgames? Too easy. Racing? Too easy. Knife throwing? Yep—easy. University? No, thanks. Not exactly easy, but way too many people.
