If you suddenly have too much interest, I'll make it easy and let you prioritize the other when the time comes. Already playing and running Savage Worlds, only fair to give someone else a chance.

I'm going to have to narrow the field, but I'll worry about that when the time comes.

Those of you interested in sci-fi, what kind of campaign are you looking for? Intrigue, action, exploration, criminal activities, trade, what? In a fantasy campaign, it's usually pretty straightforward. You are adventurers, so you seek adventure. In sci-fi, things can get murky. So, those of you wanting sci-fi, what kind of campaign are you expecting?

A Sci-fi as rouge traders, the likes of Firefly 🪰

Firefly is classic and always very welcome, add to this some visiting of new, exotic worlds, meeting some alien species or exploring their mysterious artifacts or ruins that works in unexpected way... and -> we have a perfect game for me :D

So something like mix between my favorite shows/movies: Firefly, Interstellar, Expanse with some aspects of Stargate(the movie, as I haven't seen the series yet), Contact (1997), Prometheus (exploring the alien ship and mysteries, not fighting aliens) added to the mix.

Regarding sci-fi, I'll add in Cowboy Bebop as well for inspiration. Seeing as there is a chapter on mechs, something akin to Mechwarrior/Battletech would also be neat (but not required).

Yes! Giant mechs are great! And I always thought that Firefly was an inspiration for Cowboy Bebop? But I may be... hallucinating things ;-D

Firefly is what you get when your players can't agree if you're playing Traveller or a western. Cowboy Bebop is what you get when you tell the creator "it just has to have cool spaceships" and he played in that campaign.

I think Cowboy Bebop actually predates Firefly.
OOC:
I would happily play in a campaign inspired by either.

Cowboy Bebop predates Firefly by about four years. I admit that I'm not at all familiar with Cowboy Bebop, but I have seen every episode of Firefly multiple times. Joss Whedon has confirmed that Firefly was based on a tabletop RPG he played in college. He has not stated which RPG that was, but most people assume it to be Traveller. Since this can lead to some interesting discussion, I have built a new thread dealing with this topic here.

all of the above sound like great sci-fi settings. Ive played a decent amount of Ironsworn Starforged, which is fairly close to Firefly in tone. I like a good mix of narrative, and dice rolling.

Haven't much experience with Savage Worlds, but had a good look at Deadlands, as maybe @ctme2000 can attest.

Savage Worlds has its share of sci-fi settings, depending on your jam (Deadlands: Lost Colony, Flash Gordon, Space 1889, The Last Parsec, Fear Agent, and I'm sure a few others I'm missing). The updated sci-fi companion came with an additional book that has five pre-written adventures, each story using a different subgenre (think Star Trek, neuromancer, the expanse, event horizon, Mechwarrior, etc) to give you an idea of how adaptable the rules can be.
