He took everything from you... The Man who Smells of Rot.

Welcome to Deadlands cowpokes. In this campaign, set in the Weird West, you will create characters that each have been touched by the fell hand of a dastardly villain, a figure who has taken more than anyone should and left you to die.

Red Dead Revenge will be a journey across the West as you, and your newly found compatriots hunt this man down to exact your idea of justice from him. Along the way you'll find lonely ghost towns, booming and dangerous settlements, interesting folks and horrifying creatures.

So saddle up and don't forget to reload partner, vengeance is best served with a side of lead...

He took everything from you, the Man Who Smelled of Rot.

It might have been your family, your friends, your life's work, it doesn't matter. What does matter is that He still walks the earth, and his mistake? He didn't make sure you were dead.

Howdy folks!

I am looking to start a Deadlands Reloaded campaign and I am looking for about 5 players.

From my prospective players I expect at least 1 post per day with a good size and meaningful input (no one liners hombre).

Characters will start off as standard Novices as per the Deadlands Reloaded rules. No Harrowed to start off (unless you choose Veteran of the Weird West and get lucky!). We can discuss further once recruitment has finished.

As for applying, please give me a brief little blurb about your play by post experience, if and any experience you have with Deadlands/Savage Worlds and finally I would love to hear about your favorite piece of Western media!

Hope to hear from you cowpokes!

Hi,

Big fan of DL but don't get to play it much, and would love to be a part of this.

Been with GP for a few years now, no problem with post rate, and enjoy PbP for the fact you have time to type a solid response and get into the characters.

I've played in and run a few DL games, mostly w. the updated swade rules, but am familiar with the differences in reloaded.

Fave Western: Once Upon a Time in the West (followed by True Grit, Unforgiven, Bone Tomahawk, and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs).

Runner-up: Any western written by Elmore Leonard (RIP!)

Thanks!

Howdy, I like the sound of this game, Marshal. This is serendipity, I was eyeing the DL Reloaded book sitting on my shelf just the other day, and getting an itch...

Gamersplane / PbF 'veteran' here (as a player and GM), I find this gaming format fascinating. Something about the slower pacing and being able to craft your reactions and dialogue just right. I am convinced it makes for better stories, when done right! The posting rate sounds great.

Savage Worlds is one of my favourite systems to run and play - although I have never GMd DL Reloaded. I am familiar with SWADE and with earlier editions too.
I like Weird West horror settings, the brutality of the times seems to be a perfect backdrop for the supernatural. (However, I am not familiar at all with the PlayStation game sharing the title with your game, in case that matters)

"3:10 to Yuma" , the 2007 version, and "The Hateful Eight" have got to be my faves, for movies.

In books, I'll go with the "Razored Saddles" and "Dead Man's Hand" anthologies of Weird Western stories.

Anyway, I'll be down at that poor excuse for a Saloon if you need me, Marshal.

Good to hear from you both!

As for your reference to Read Dead Revolver Dr_B, its no problem at all! Just thought it would be fun to reference the Red Dead series for this as it will be a game centered on the theme of Revenge.

Howdy there,

I’ve never played Deadlands yet, but I read the rules a while back and really loved the setting. I’d be excited to join a campaign and finally explore the Weird West.

I’ve been doing PbP for quite a while, mostly on the French site EspritJDR, and I also play and GM a few games here on GP. I’m based in Europe (CET), in case time zones matter for posting rhythm.

As for Westerns, some of my favorites are "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance", "The Ox‑Bow Incident", "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", "Rio Bravo", "Little Big Man", and "Dances with Wolves"

Howdy YullyBear!

Great to hear! And no worries about timezones. Since this is a forum style we don't need to worry too much about everyone being active at the same time.

Not applying, just expressing support.

I ran Deadlands last night in a live game for some friends. Such a great setting and system, a favorite for sure. If you're on the fence about trying an unknown system, don't be. It's straight forward and great pulpy fun.

I'd like to throw my dusty hat into the ring for consideration.

I have not played any Savage Lands before, but I did come close to picking up Deadlands in drivethru as I do find the setting alluring and haven't rp'd in such a setting yet.

On this site I was part of a cthulhu game for 9 months or so. Elsewhere I have enjoyed pbp in the Ironsworn family of books - Starforged and Sundered Isles. The narrative nature of those games really shine in pbp.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is probably my top western - I like many of the others of the same ilk, and Unforgiven, RDR2 video game, and watched a decent amount of Tales of Wells Fargo with my dad.

As I said, new to the system and currently don't have the books. yeehaw

Howdy Partner,

I'm very interested in a little Weird West. I have extensive experience in PBP but I'm new to Gamer's Plane, I've played in a few games and am currently running one.

My only experience with Deadlands is having read some of the original sourcebooks, I have no experience with Reloaded but I'm quite eager to learn.

As far as Western Media goes... I've seen few Western movies but my favorite is Django Unchained (which doesn't technically take place in the Wild West but I'd still count it. My favorite song would be this little number. And my favorite Weird West video game would be the parody West of Loathing.

I love, love, love Dead lands. If there's space I'd love to play.

As far as Westerns go I love Tombstone (Johnny Ringo is Harrowed, I will die on that hill) and True Grit (I actually prefer the remake).
