Can I just check one thing? I would normally get a SAN roll before an automatic loss at a 2d6 level, potentially giving me the chance of taking a smaller amount of SAN loss. Is it different when you read a text?

Reading mythos tomes is different. You automatically lose Sanity Points - no SAN roll is made (page 174 Keeper rulebook).

Another full study session will also result in automatically losing Sanity Points. You slowly build up your Cthulhu Mythos skill, but the cost is sizeable.

This is most likely the reason it takes so long to read a book. Reading is dangerous to your sanity.

Using it as a reference does not result in lost SAN, but your success is low until you’ve studied it more than a few times.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the explanation. I'll read that bit.

Hey everyone. I’m heading out on vacation tomorrow. I will most likely continue posting throughout. I expect I’ll find some time to post - either at breakfast or before bed.

I have the books on my tablet and I’ll be using my phone instead of my computer. Not ideal, but it’ll work.

If I completely drop off, I’m back on April 24th and should be posting regularly after that.

Can I ask something...are we using the Chaosium Arkham supplement?

This is mostly so I know what not to buy and read as I don't want spoilers.

Thanks.

We’re largely using the campaign book Time to Harvest.

I did reference the Arkham book when we were there. It has a huge amount of details about locations in town. Most locations have at least a handful of hooks that the investigators can look into.

I will most likely reference it when/if we go back to town. I don’t know how enjoyable it’ll be to read, but it’s an amazing reference.

Ah, cool, thanks. Somehow that wasn't on my radar at all.

Just touching base to see if this game is still running?

All of my games have died in the past month or so. I think I'm in the process of shutting them all down. I've moved one game to solo play. I'll probably move the balance of my games there.

That's a shame. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!

I really did enjoy this story. It’s too bad it didn’t last. I think PbP is tough with long campaigns. It’s too much of a commitment for most.

All the best.
