Player cannot access threads

A player in my game cannot access several of the threads. When he tries, he receives the message "Content not viewable in your region." I am in the US, and he is in the UK. Another UK player can access the threads but cannot view any images. Both players can view and post to the ooc thread which contains no images. This happens whether the person using his phone or home computer. I have not changed any of the permissions. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, is there a fix?

There was an issue where the UK government banned access to IMGUR, or perhaps the other way around. Maybe their ISP is blocking pages that have IMGUR links?

If that's the issue, then the only way to get around that I'm aware of is for the UK user to use a VPN to access from somewhere else.

I'm pretty sure there has been some discussion of alternatives to IMGUR that will work in the UK. You'll have to handle the hosting and linking more manually, but not all image hosts are blocked (yet). I also think that there has been discussion of adding image host options to the built in, but that would require code changes and is lower priority than bug fixes and other initiatives.

I'm in the UK and had this problem. For viewing images, Adam provided this fix. For posting images, I've been using postimages.org.

Thank you all for your quick and helpful replies. I have installed the scripts and the link that Burbage shared and am waiting to see if the images are visible to UK players.

I think the UK players will need to install the script in their browsers. It's a workaround at their end, rather than yours.

If it's your One Ring public game, I can see the pictures OK in the UK with the fix installed in my browser.

Yes, that's the game. I just received word that one of my UK players still couldn't see the images. I'll have him install the script too. Thanks.

I’ve made a point of using post image as opposed to imgur not only for my benefit but that of my uk players. Would be nice if we had something like that automated as we do with Imgur but one can only dream.
