THE GAME
Sentinel Comics is rules-lite narrative superhero game that took a lot of inspiration from Cortex. Task resolution is simple. 1. Describe what you're doing and pick an action that closest resembles your description (attack, defend, boost, hinder, overcome, or recover). 2. Decide if you have any applicable Ability or if its a basic roll if not. 3. You form a dice pool of 3 dice granted by your Powers, Qualities, and Status, taking the middle value (by default) and comparing it against a target number. Which die (or dice) you use can be altered by your Abilities or modifiers (bonuses granted by previous effects or actions). 4. Apply your result to the target number! Worth noting is attacks always hit, but they don't always do damage if they don't overcome defense rating. Combats are short and usually capped at about 6-7 rounds. Initiative is freeform so you can post as long as you haven't gone yet that round (but you can't go twice in a row if you act last in one round and then first in the next).
THE PITCH
This will be a one-shot (for now) with a mini-campaign possible if people enjoy it. The first issue (adventure) should take about 2 months. Looking to start character creation next weekend, with the actual game starting the week after that. We will create characters from scratch. We can decide if we want to re-skin the game as Marvel, DC, or original world (no knowledge of the Sentinels comics is necessary). No experience with the game or having the rulebook is necessary either. The tone will be Saturday morning cartoon aimed at young teens (think Batman Beyond, Teen Titans, etc.). Posting frequency will be 3-4 times a week. If you're interested in joining, leave a comment below. This game is explicitly friendly to LGBT and any other minorities or marginalized groups. I will keep recruitment open until Friday. Hope to see you in the game!
