Usually I am open to "medieval-inspired" fantasy and historical fantasy.
I tend do prefer games where the rules include a mix of "archetype based" and point-buy character creation - like
Anima: Beyond Fantasy and
Legend of the five Rings 4th Edition.
Recently I discovered that I prefer
Pathfinder 2e over D&D5e, though I am open to play a D&D game if it is not set in Forgotten Realms, but Eberron, Spelljammer, Ravnica or Greyhawk.
What I am usually looking for in a game is a story where my character matters and the world reacts to the rumors/reputation that is based on my characters and the groups deeds. I do love redemption arcs and the classical "safe the princess/village/city/nation/world" story.
