Game is run based on WotC module Curse of Strahd. Please read/watch any spoiler free reviews of the module to get better insight if you have not done that yet.

We have covered about 20-30% of module and approaching moment when character will eventually need to learn about the Strahd, not just avoid him. This is probably the last moment when joining the campaign you will not miss much of the Strahd content, just the intro to environment.

Curse of Strahd is an over-hyped module. I love that module and have played it as a player cover to cover (at the table).
Not only it brought the traditional horror tropes like vampires, werewolves, and witches to the table. Options to win a social encounter with a witch before you end their abominable "life", the need to understand why human turned into vampire before you can challenge him and other scenes proved me "a social encounter" in 5e could be so much more than a dice roll by your bard PC.

Nevertheless setting are very very dark and depressing. Your PCs will not be driven by quest givers and will need to make a lot of decisions about your course of actions and believe me - you will make a lot of mistakes and that will not be fun to realized the damage your decisions made can't be undone.

Note: This is the third recruitment for game running almost a year already. We have place for two more players. You can see second recruitment but you will be joining party right after they are done with Werewolves' quest.

Short summary
System: PHB 2024.
Peace: a post per 1-2 days
How to apply: post your interest here. Actually nice to have: add a sentence of why do you think you would enjoy playing Curse of Strahd and I may probably disappoint you.

Questions and Answers
Party composition: two monks and sorcerer. Any class will fit good, perhaps rogue wouldn't feel valued as monks kind of fill that role.
Current story: recap is prepared for you in game forum, don't want module spoilers in public, so keeping in hidden

I'm interested. I've been hoping to one day run it for friends, so experiencing it as a player would be good. we wouldn't run it for quite some time, though. I own the book, but I've barely read it. I mostly ran the "Strahd must die tonight" halloween one shot version, which only makes me aware of how strahd's castle works (mostly). I don't own the 2024 PHB, but the free material should be enough to get me going.

I'm interested as well. The whole Stradh thing has always piqued my interest. The dark setting would make for a nice alterantive to the typical bright and upbeat settings one usually encounters.

I haven't looked at the 2024 PHB either, but will check out the starter materials.

@Ironmonger42 @Dhakhan thank you for your interest. Great to hear. I will leave recruitment open till end of the week, may have to roll some dice if more people apply. Meanwhile some comments on your posts:

2024 free rules are all you really need. In game play I only refer to free rules. PHB allow some extra diversity in character creation, but my opinion - free rules are good enough to play your first or first few characters.

Dark is not just the settings. Even if you play DnD module where PCs are thrown into hell or underdark - it always feel like a fairy tale of heroes beating the bad. Strahd is different. Are you ready for story we tell to be dark rather then just the settings?

P.S. it is Strahd not Stradh. That's a typo I used to make. Funny I'm not the only one.
