OOC:
well, I suppose we either gotta agree, or roll. Dude seems nice, maybe a priest can greet our characters when they return home?
Dec 15, 2025 9:51 am
"Guess we could have a song where multiple priests from different faiths laments the world ending," Ramank suggests. "Before the heroes saves the day."

Vaizeth is pleased by the choice. They ask to stop in on the production sometimes as rehearsals proceed, as they’re interested in the concept of theater that doesn’t involve maiming...
OOC:
You gain 1 Production Point. Vaizeth gifts PCs who obtain their sponsorship with two panaceas and several illuminated philosophical texts worth a total of 3,000 gp (this collection of texts is 3 Bulk and grants a +2 item bonus to Lore and Religion checks to Recall Knowledge about philosophical topics if the tomes are referenced for an hour per check).

Everybody gains a Hero Point!

You have secured numerous sponsors for your opera, but the show can’t go on without actors! Now, the task falls on you to cast the opera's major roles. Oriole, of course, is already cast to play your nemesis, Osoyo the Blackfrost Whale. You've also agreed to cast Ricovial Cebarinne as Doctor Etvard Ritalson You now have to fill out the cast with actors to play the rest of you!
OOC:
For each PC, you must hold auditions! Fallenta takes care of putting out the casting call and scheduling all of the auditions for a single day. When the PCs are ready to take on this responsibility, they need to set aside a day and be at the Kintargo Opera House to watch the auditions and make their choices.

Fallenta provides you with the actors' portfolios. Note that any of these actors is capable of portraying any ancestry or gender—makeup, costuming, and other special effects might be required, but those factors are handled separately during other responsibilities). Explain to the PCs that actors who possess a persona trait that matches a PC’s persona trait is an excellent potential choice to play that PC in the opera.

The party decides which actor will potentially portray each PC; any actors not chosen remain as potential backups for roles. Then we will run an influence encounter for each of the chosen actors to simulate the audition. The accumulation of Influence in this case determines whether the actor has the chops to play the part or not. Each audition lasts 2 15-minute rounds.

OOC:
so is the next step picking the actor we'd like to portray our PC? What if we pick the same actor?
Dec 17, 2025 5:45 am
Horace silently greets and thanks the final two sponsors before reconvening with the others and heading out to get some rest.

The next day he sits with his companions to pore over the actors' dossiers. "I think I quite like Ormund for playing the role of myself. He seems to have a warrior spirits, but also appreciates art and knowledge. What do the rest of you think?"
Dec 17, 2025 11:22 am
"While I have trouble imagining anyone living up to the greatness that is me and Yarth," Ramank says. "I think Lisbend and Yerrix comes the closest."
Dec 17, 2025 3:19 pm
"Auselia the elf for me, obviously, Aurelia declares, a drama queen herself. "Besides, her name is practically mine so ..."
Dec 17, 2025 3:46 pm
Bekassine nods in agreement to the others choices, and responds to Ramanks with a bit of a smirk, "Who would play you and who would play Yarth? I don't know if Yarth can be properly potrayed by someone so diminutive. Persechore seems perfect to portray me, if a bit to chatty off stage for my taste. Or maybe Vaum." In answer to an inquisitive grumble from Fox she adds "I don't know, maybe a puppet?"

OOC:
If multiple PCs pick the same actor, we would run a separate challenge for each one and whoever got the most points would be the PC the actor would be better suited to play, but it doesn't look like that will be necessary at this time. :)

Having decided on the most likely candidates for each of you, you begin the auditions! Ormund comes out on stage first, carrying a large prop tome under his arm. He smiles tightly and regards you with his cool grey eyes. "Good afternoon. I'll be reading for the part of Horace," he says confidently. He adopts a ready stance and opens the tome, flipping through its pages. "Don't worry, friends! I know exactly what sort of creature we are facing! It says here that the beast is weak to fire! Let's light it up!"
OOC:
You can each roll 2 rounds of skill checks to assess Ormund's performance. The skills are Art Lore DC 27, Diplomacy DC 34, Perception DC 32, Performance DC 30, or Theater Lore DC 30. During the auditions, a PC with the leader persona trait gets a +2 circumstance bonus to all skill checks. If you get at least 4 total successes, then the actor is appropriate to play the part. If you get at least 6 total successes, then the actor is perfect for the role which leads to additional rewards at the end of this section.

Despite some liberties with the dialogue, by the end of the audition it is clear that Ormund would be perfectly suited for the role of Horace!
Next up on the docket is Auselia. The tall, willowy elf gracefully takes the stage in a floral dress. "Auselia, reading for Aurelia," she says with a wink. She then launches into a soaring sonata reminiscent of one of Aurelia's inspiring battle songs.
OOC:

OOC:
Rolling for Horace to keep things moving.
It doesn't take long until it becomes clear that Auselia is also a perfect fit for the role!
Next up, Bekassine brings in her first choice to audition for her role. Persechore takes the stage, the matronly woman smiling warmly. "Good day to you all. I shall read for the role of Bekassine." She waves her fingers before her as if casting a spell. "Do you feel a chill in the air? The icy winds of the north heed my call. Frost and snow are mine to command! Come, Fox! Adventure awaits!"
