Bronz stared at LC for a long moment, face unreadable. The silence stretched on.

He remembered what it was like: endless shifts, patching engines with whatever junk they could scrounge, sleeping beside the drives because the rest of the ship was filled with crates. Having his own stateroom was made him soft.

He shrugged, the motion small but final.

"Sure. We’ll do whatever it takes. We’ll make it work."

He glanced toward Tamm and Leilani before adding. "We can pull doubles, rope in whoever’s got hands to spare. We will do what is necessary to keep us running."

Then he fell quiet again, gaze drifting back to the readouts, already thinking through what corners could be cut and which ones couldn’t.
