Food is not apparent behind the bar, or in the adjoining kitchen, where everything is neatly put away. It looks like recently (there's barely a bit of dust) the cooks cleaned up and packed up and left.
Checking cabinets, Hanford finds sausages, smoked ham, and a couple of quail (still feathered) hung to cure. There's another cabinet with root vegetables. In a third cabinet, greens are wilted not yet rotten.
The dog followed Hanford into the kitchen and sits eyeing the sausage cabinet, thumping its tail insistently.
