Storm on the Horizon

"Will! Harald!" Lord Bowell turns to look at the approaching adventurers, excited to see them, and not seeming to notice, or care, that one of them has drawn his blade. "You've come just at the right time! You have to see this!!!" he raises another spear, and points it toward the shattered archery target, as if he meant to show off something marvelous, rather than threatening. The dog kept barking, circling around, But Bowell didn't spare it a glance. Nor did he answer any of their questions about his men at arms.

"The way I am" Hans repeats after Will. "I heard you, the other night. Saying I've been bit. You think I don't hear? I hear everything now" he takes a step closer, his eyes glinting with a feral intensity "I hear the rats scurrying across the courtyard while I lie in bed. I can smell the musk of elk carried on the winds from miles away. I can smell the fear in your sweat..." he smiles a toothy smile, the raindrops running down his very hairy chest "I’ve never felt more alive!!!"

Without warning, he hurls the spear he was holding at the battlements just behind you. The weapon 'swooshes' by you, before embedding itself deep in the stone wall.

A very satisfied Hans throws his head back and laughs; which sounds more like a howl, his eyes burning even brighter than before.

"This is no ailment! It is a blessing! I've never felt such power coursing through me" his eyes glint with madness "I have the strength and vitality of half a dozen men. I can feel it. And I would share this gift with you, if you are not too meek to accept it"
he looks at Will in particular, "Just imagine what we can accomplish! The possibilities...!"

"What remedy? Why do I need it for?" Hans looks at Will suspiciously, but a little of the fever leaves his flushed face. He is willing to listen, but just then, he hears Barns murmuring, and his eyes narrow with irritation:

"What… are you doing, Wizard!??"

Lord Bowell takes a step toward Barns, probably with the intention of tearing his face off with his bare hands, but his legs suddenly feel very heavy. He only manages to advance a couple of feet before stumbling, and falling, face down, into the mud.
